  1. Despite some tough fixtures pompey should have enough winnable home games to see them safe. Could get interesting if Northampton continue to sort their sh!t out though.
  2. "grind out wins from a mediocre overall team of players in the way the West Ham have" What point were you trying to make then?
  3. Poch is obviously doing a great job despite his f*ck up last week so anyone should be concerned if he were to leave. In this league it is a fine line between mid table security and relegation candidate, that line is often a talented manager. Better squads than ours have been relegated before.
  4. The main problem with the England team is the fact that not enough English players play regularly at the highest level in the Prem. Look how well Sturridge has developed since his move to Liverpool after just sitting on his arse at Chelsea. Players sat on their arse today include Ashley Cole, Young, Oxlade Chamberlain, Milner, Lescott, Welbeck (not even on the bench so I assume is injured). The last Spurs game Townsend and Dawson sat and watched. Unless we limit the amount of foreigners allowed we will continue to decline at international level.
  5. Yeah, because hoofing it up front would work against the best players in the World in 30 degree heat.
  6. Doesn't make any difference, we are still 8th, if we won we would be 8th, if we drew we would be 8th. It's a pitty we don't have a cup or anything to play for.
  7. Pretty good attendances for reserves fixtures.
  8. I understand the reason for giving your second choice keeper game time in the early rounds but not towards the end of the season with Wembley a couple of games away and nothing to play for in the league. Makes no sense at all.
  9. Surely it's not in PFC's interest to have the cash ring-fenced? If they have cash-flow problems next season and are facing going bust again what is the point in having a seven figure sum they cannot touch except for ground improvements? And if they do go bust who gets the ring-fenced cash?
  10. Gary Lineker and Robbie Savage seemed to understand.
  11. Man Utd have won it 11 times and are now in decline. We are better off out of it.
  12. This is an absolutely MASSIVE game for Saints. Win and we will probably stay 8th, maybe even go 7th for a couple of hours. Draw and we will be 8th, lose and we will probably be 8th but Newcastle's result could potentially mean we fall to a disastrous 9th for a week or two. I'm so glad we f*cked off the FA Cup last week to concentrate on this vital fixture.
  13. I'm not angry but still think it was a wasted opportunity, wether we finish 7th, 8th or 9th makes no difference to me whatsoever. I would happily give a few kids a run out against West Ham, prepare for next season.
  14. Shouldn't make any difference, if a woman is feeling unwell and wants a seat you would think someone would help her out. I can't stand the way these rail companies charge you a fortune for a ticket yet can't be arsed to put on trains big enough. Any empty first class seat should be made available to anyone forced to stand.
  15. They really have got such a sh!te deal out of Tescos there. It's amazing that all through their "successful" years they were sat on that land and did nothing - now they have lost it and are land-locked. The obvious thing to have done would be to build a new ground where the Tescos is going then sell the old shed for redevelopment.
  16. Mate, you're 60 years old and offering people out on a football forum.
  17. I agree with what the opening post is saying but it is a pretty pointless thing to moan about. The ONLY way for a club like us to have any sort of success in today's game is with a stinking rich owner and by default they can do whatever they want, just like Chelsea and City's owners can. We are an irrelevance but that is the only way unless you have a Jack Walker type owner. As we don't, we either have what we have now or the constant threat or relegation and financial meltdown - I know what I would prefer every time.
  18. Sod taking 3 goalkeepers, in the history of the World Cup has a team ever needed to use all 3? I would take a punt and go with an extra striker. Goalkeepers - Hart, Foster Defenders - Cahill, Baines, Jagielka, Walker, Shaw, Johnson, Jones Midfielders - Gerrard, Wilshere, Milner, Lallana, Chamberlain, Carrick, Sterling, Henderson Strikers - Rooney, Sturridge, Lambert, Welbeck, Jay Rod
  19. Only pompey would spend money on increasing the capacity of a ground they don't get close to filling when they have got rid of their development team because of lack of money and don't even have a training ground. Without a sugar daddy the only way they are going to get out of the mess they are in is by finding and developing young talent. A new stand is going to mean f*ck all until they can occasionally fill their ground which would be Championship level - they are light years away from that.
  20. Alliance of British Drivers
  21. No way are Middlesborough bigger than Saints. What do they average in the Championship 16-17K?
  22. So you agree the Mail headline is incorrect then?
  23. You seriously can't see what is incorrect about the Mail headline? I do wonder about what sort of weirdos frequent this message board.
  24. No reason why not. I expect all the players will have performance bonuses as well.
