Can we accommodate SRL & Osvaldo in the same team?
aintforever replied to doggface's topic in The Saints
As long as Osvaldo is happy to play in the wide role it shouldn't be a problem. -
You have to wonder how many thousands of people Assad has to gas before Russia and China give a sh!t. I can't see any nice ending to this. Even if a UN force goes in you will just end up with the usual muslim extremists fighting the 'occupiers'.

Totally agree, I think we are heading for another financial crash, bigger than the last one, and history will look back on the people creaming off millions as criminals. I still don't get the striking thing though, people should just change their job if they are not happy with it. No one is forcing anyone to do anything. Teachers are not poorly paid.
 -
If they don't like the pay and conditions they can get a new job - that's how it works in today's world for everyone else.

Where have all the supporters gone? that is pathetic.

Your favourite Saints players that weren't popular?
aintforever replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
Barry Horne was always one of my favourites when I was younger. -
You're probably right about being too competitive too young. The team I played for as a kid won the league by launching it down the line then getting it in the mixer. It was very effective and we didn't care because we were winning. I suppose it could be argued that we play the way we do because we have little talent not the other way round though. In general English people have always been sh!t at football. The only time we ever won anything was with home advantage, light years ago. We keep looking for reasons but there might not be any, we may just need to face the fact that we are not very good.

They just need to restrict the amount of foreigners a team can field. Unless they do that, the money in the game over here will always mean people will come from far and wide to play here. Obviously kids should be coached the right way but I would be surprised if the standard of coaching in the Prem is worse than throughout Europe.

	I would go for --------------------------Boruc------------------------ Clyne---------Yoshida----------------Lovren----------Shaw -----------Schneiderlin----------Wanyama------------ Rodriguez-------------Ramirez------------------Lallana ------------------------Lambert-------------------------
 -
Was the lack of Clyne and Shaw the problem, or the lack of pace up front. IMO the 4-2-3-1 system works best if you have some natural wide players or runners in the 3 behind the striker. I think if there is no pace in the front four we will have problems regardless of how fast our full backs are.

Mayuka Going To Sochaux on Loan (Confirmed)
aintforever replied to Glasgow_Saint's topic in The Saints
Mayuka must have been worse value for money than Delgado. -

Thought we would have replaced Puncheon but still a decent window. Hope our lack of pace doesn't come back and haunt us. -

Surely this means we are going to get someone with pace in as a replacement? -
Fisk has usually got a good grasp of things in the Middle East, that article does ring true. I expect the only 'game changer' is the involvement of Hezbollah and the fact that Assad is winning.

As it stands, do we have a better midfield than Utd?
aintforever replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
I think Moyes will be a failure for them, he has won f*ck all. It's going to be great watching their downfall. -
I think this is key, we're having to change formation to crow-bar in a second centre forward. Personally i would have spent £15mill on a replacement for Puncheon and brought a young centre forward who was happy to be understudy to Lambert for a couple of seasons.
 -
There's no real evidence there that contradicts the official version. The blinding white light from a man on the back of a motorbike could clearly be one of the many photographers.
 -
Must be a fitness thing. I hope we are not trying to crowbar our academy players in for the sake of it.

Cork bigger voice in dressing room than we thought?
aintforever replied to Roger's topic in The Saints
Cork will be a regular again soon, very under-rated. -

Oh come on alpine is spot on, it wasn't long ago the Yanks were renaming French Fries Freedom Fries because they hated them so much. What was it Stormin Norman said? "Going to war without France is like going duck hunting without an accordion." ...now they are best buddies because we wont help start world war three on the back of some youtube clips.

I never once said Britain was the only country to 'police' the world, more that we have done more than our fair share. You gloss over the Afgan war but fact is it was to stop a worldwide terrorist threat (the Taliban being the regime that harboured Al Qaeda), France (just one example of a country not wanting to get their hands dirty) agree with the cause and have 550 troops out there, we have 9,000.

David Cameron: “It is clear to me that the British Parliament, reflecting the views of the British people, does not want to see British military action. I get that and the government will act accordingly.” A triumph for democracy. Plain and simple. Time for he Arab League to sort their own rancid mess out.
