  1. All the music Britain has created and we've had to sit through Pet Shop Boys - twice!
  2. Elbow was rescuing it now they've stuck a compilation CD on.
  3. They better hurry up before Elbow runs out of decent songs.
  4. To those of you who criticised the opening ceremony, this is what we could have had.
  5. I guess they blew the budget on the opening ceremony.
  6. Yeah, because Rio doesn't know how to put on a show!
  7. If the trust was still an option how could Chanrai be playing hardball? Birch would just hand the club over to the trust.
  8. I know we need a new CB but getting one of the sh!ttest players from League 1's bottom club is not what I had in mind.
  9. Both. I'm surprised at our lack of top quality signings and my main concern is that our management and players have precious little or no experience of the Prem and don't really know what is needed. We could surprise everyone but I am expecting us to go down. I think our signings are good long term ones though who shouldn't have a problem getting back up if we do.
  10. I can't believe all this is still going on. It's less than 3 days before they kick-off the new season and they have no owners and no players - surely there is a deadline for receiving the golden share?! The pompey fans bid is obviously dead in the water otherwise Chanrai would have no grounds for holding the administrators to ransom. Maybe Chanrai knows they wont budge on their fees and this statement is just trying to deflect the blame when they are finally liquidated on Monday.
  11. I read a lot of spy non-fiction. One thing I picked up from them is if someone behaves in an odd way or out of character then there is almost always a reason. When the family walked out the house carrying the candles the grandmother held her hand in front of her face as if to appear to be crying. It looked to me like she was just covering her face from the cameras as jf she had something to hide. It might be that she just didn't want her pic in the paper because she is **** ugly but in that scenario the only thing on her mind should be her missing kid.
  12. It still doesn't seem like watching Saints to me. I don't like the way the club have ditched tradition.
  13. I thought the grandmother was in on it, her body language wasn't right.
  14. Maybe to even things up a bit we could make him run with one arm tied behind his back and a butt plug up his arse? Wouldn't want to open the pandora's box of giving hope to thousands of disabled people that one day they could compete on the biggest stage alongside the greatest athletes.
  15. Of course he should be allowed, his blade things obviously help him but he's got no f*cking legs, give him a break.
  16. That sums it up perfectly for me. They are like the benefits cheats of the football world - they think the world owes them a competitive team. If they do survive they should have the lowest budget of League 1 and all the remaining parachutes should be given direct to the creditors. Any other outcome would be unfair to the creditors and the other teams in the league. It would set a dangerous precedent if they can blow off their football debt just like the other debts. The thing that really stinks is you can guarantee the Fans Trust plan involves not paying the football debt and spunking the parachute money next season to gain advantage.
  17. The -10 was for failing the last CVA, if they come out of this admin without a CVA it will be at least another -17.
  18. I disagree about the experts, man made global warming is pretty much universally accepted from what I have read. There is obviously big disagreements about what will happen in the future because it is just speculation but the possible effects are so potentially bad I think it would be retarded beyond belief just to carry on and hope it all turns out OK.
  19. The problem is that the reporting of climate change is sensationalist for both sides. The science behind runaway global warming is as valid now as it was before Gore made a ***t of himself. The trick is to ignore the journos and politicians and read the science behind it. The debate is ruined by reports that blame every other thing on global warming with zero scientific backing, and on the other hand stories that claim it can't be happening because it used to be hot thousands of years ago when we were not here. Read about the measurements and observations scientists have made, experiments they have done and the conclusions they have made from them. I'm pretty sure the more you read the more you will realise that the shark is very definitely out there and potentially very dangerous.
  20. Looks to me like Birch is in the process of liquidation already, 3 players left - there's not much left to liquidate. The thing is if he was going to liquidate this is how he would do it. He wouldn't get anything for the players if he just came out and announced it's liquidation time.
  21. I'm not an expert but from what I've read my opinion is: 1. Yes 2. Impossible to say for certain because of natural variations but there is definitely a trend to warming that can only really be explained by the increase in CO2. 3-5. The effects could be catastrophic, the one thing we can say for certain is that we cannot predict what will happen because no matter how good the science, we don't have a crystal ball. Nature may find it's own way of regulating the temperature, or we could in theory be wiped of the planet. Whilst the effect here might be a bit of flooding, a couple of degree warming could kill millions in under-developed countries. Only a fool would ignore the opinions of the scientific community and just hope it turns out OK. In fact the current situation reminds me of the film Jaws where they hire that shark expert and then completely ignore what he says because it would ruin their income if they shut the beach. What is the point in having scientists if we just go against everything they say? Madness.
  22. The Football League don't actually want any club to be liquidated, it's just us nutjobs. I expect if they were not is such a fragile position they probably would have been punished more points wise.
  23. The football is shocking, can't even beat a bunch of arabs. No surprise though with Stuart Pearce as manager.
  24. I lived there for 5 years, so glad I escaped. Of course there are nice areas but you are never to far from some scumbag ridded hole.
  25. Yeah, but if you wonder down the wrong street you will get stabbed in the eye for your phone.
