  1. It's a great chance of a trip to Wembley so I would play a full strength side. We should use the FA Cup to rest important players.
  2. The internet has made the Echo pointless, Cortesse can do as he pleases IMO.
  3. You can add Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal to that list - they all buy success, just get their money from different sources. The only teams I really hate are Man U and Pompey.
  4. So they protested about climate change by sit for hours in front of their PC on facebook (creating CO2) then made a pointless journey into town (creating more CO2) to highlight something that doesn't need highlighting because it's on the national media 24/7. ****ing attention seeking retards.
  5. We're in the third tier and took more than that to Hartlepool on a Tuesday evening.
  6. We won the tie though so it goes down as a win in my book.
  7. I'd laugh but it's probably our council tax that has gone to producing that awful card. Sometimes I dispair at our council, what a bunch of ****-wits. Make a complete balls up of the World Cup bid then this.
  8. How the hell is a commitment iriversable? If any government in the World could prove that man made climate change wasn't happening, they would do it in a shot. It's not in any government interests to spend billions on new energy technologies, or hand over billions to the 3rd world to do the same. The governments of the west have spent the last decades desperately trying to prove the environmentalists wrong. Even the national scientific bodies of China and India concur with the view that climate change is most likely man made - what the hell is their motivation?
  9. A good relationship between club and Echo is way more important for the Echo than it is the club. The Echo should think about that before going against Cortese's wishes.
  10. The trick is to practice and practice until it becomes second nature and nerves have little effect. Like walking, it doesn't matter how nervous you are you can still walk. I remember Le Tiss often practiced his penalties during the pre match warm-up at the Dell.
  11. Oh don't be such a nob, no one's died. Your football team is going out of business - we hate you so find it funny - get over it.
  12. Ditto, that would be fantastic. I have no sympathy for the thugs, they deserve everything they get.
  13. I would have sacked Southgate last season. My point was that this season they were doing OK, changing manager when you are doing OK is always a risk.
  14. Yeah, but this season they were doing OK, unless Boro think they have a devine right to be top of the league, 1 point off second place is doing well. Having decided during the summer, after relegation, that Southgate was the man for the job, sacking him then made little sense IMO.
  15. They were 4th, 1 point off automatic when Southgate was sacked.
  16. Strachan's problem is that he came in when the team were doing well (which makes you wonder why Southgate was sacked).
  17. The plans look good, certainly an improvement on Woodward's "state of the art, cutting edge blah blah blah....".
  18. There is always £he possibili£y that Cor£esse showed him £he benefi£s of having Southamp£on as a venue.
  19. It is an amazing reversal of fortune, if you rewind just a few months we were facing the very real possibility of going out of business and starting up in the Blue Square and they just landed an Arab billionaire and were talking about Champions League football. There's a real chance now of us being in the same league as them next year, us with a billionare, them facing financial ruin and the possibility of an AFC Portsmouth in the BS.
  20. Probably because banking is tediously boring and football is fun.
  21. The telegraph said this... "The funding was secured after club management and the Professional Footballers' Association had held crisis talks with the players." It sort of implies that the PFA was involved somehow. Surely they couldn't loan the cash though?!
  22. The pressure is different but it's about technique, which is the same wether you are in front of 20,000 or 100,000. If Le Tiss could teach his penalty taking technique (and regardless of caps he was better than Shearer at penalties) to the England side then the team could possibly be better off for it.
  23. I can't work out if it's an Arab stitching up a Jew, a Jew stitching up an Arab or an Arab-Jew alliance stitching up a football club. All we know for certain is that they are at the mercy of a gun runner desperate to get as much money as he can and two skint foreigners who do not appear interested in the long term future of the football club. The skates should be worried - too many things don't add up, and usually that boils down to something dodgy going on.
  24. St George, unless you stop mixing science with politics, no one is going to take you seriously. I suppose in your ****ed up world the tax on cigarettes is a big scam as well - don't tell me - the scientific community just invented the smoking-cancer link so y'all have to stump up more tax?!
