  1. The Premiership is dull beyond belief, it's only a matter of time before people stop bothering to buy Sky, especially with the recession taking effect. We already know that the top 4 will be Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in some order - who gives a ****. Following them will be the bunch of perpetual loser top 4 wannabies - Spurs, Villa, City and Everton. The rest of the league is complete shat, crappy little clubs like Wigan, Blackburn, Hull and portsmouth desperately trying to keep hold of their share of cash. People will start turning off soon, take Sky's money away and the whole tower of cards will come down.
  2. Due Diligence shouldn't take 6 weeks, something fishy must be going on.
  3. The thread title is "What was Cortese's motivation.." Saints are obviously a potentially good investment, it's not exactly been a secret that we were up for sale.
  4. You have to say that Strachan is the perfect choice. Not just because he's a hero round here already but because of what he will bring to the team. Strach would install fitness, motivation and organisation. His sides play at a high tempo with a strong work ethic, combine that with strong financial backing from ML then getting out of League 1 in 1 or 2 years shouldn't be a problem.
  5. We spend the whole summer banging on about what a great buy SFC would be (potential Prem club with great stadium, facilities, fan base, history for a snip etc), now we question the buyers motivation!?! Only on here.
  6. No one spends millions of their own hard earned cash on a football club only to place it in the hands of a alcoholic skate retard.
  7. Hoddle didn't hang around long enough to judge. At all his other jobs (Swindon apart) he started off well then just faded into mediocrity. If he had stayed at Saints the same thing would have probably happened. He's a good coach but his record in the transfer market and his man management ultimately let him down as a manager. Not in Strachan's league IMO.
  8. Until the deal is done and the money has changed hands anything can happen in these things - as we well know! I wouldn't take much notice of Fitzhugh's "well placed source" either, there have been plenty of well placed people on here coming out with all sorts of rubbish. Chances are the Arab will buy them.
  9. Bit harsh on Wotte but the right decision IMO.
  10. If I was Leibherr I would get Oldknow to fill one of those big dump trucks full of used 50's, drive down to Warsash and get Strachan to sign a 5 year contract.
  11. Funds being transferred my arse. Unless he's driving from Switzerland in a dump truck full of notes it shouldn't take this long to transfer funds.
  12. I think you're misunderstanding the 75% thing. It doesn't matter if the creditors get 1p in the pound or 99p as long as 75% of them agree to what they are getting. I think the swiss will be buying the lot.
  13. If our new owners have a bit of cash then it would only take a phone call. It would be way easier and cheaper to extent SMS than it would be to build a stadium in portsmouth. Also Southampton is a bigger and better location.
  14. My understanding is that Aviva will have to agree with the deal for it to go through so there is no reason why SLH cannot get a CVA. 15mill is not alot when compared to the debt but it is way more than what they would have got had everything been wound up. No one would want to buy the club with a massive mortgage so the buyers would make sure they got the lot and a CVA - I think.
  15. Oi Fry, hurry the **** up!
  16. Wotte hasn't done that bad but the harsh reality is that there are other people out there with better cvs and a new face would give everyone a boost.
  17. He will do what's best for the creditors, that doesn't mean he can't release fan friendly statements to the press.
  18. If they are going to splash serious cash then Keegan has to be the best bet. He as a good record as a cheque book manager and can attract decent players. He would raise the club's profile and create a feel-good factor that would increase revenue from day 1.
  19. I refuse to get my hopes up, could just be made up, papers love a good old billionaire football story. Would be a fitting and well deserved end of the takeover rollercoaster though, just seems to good to be true.
  20. Seems crystal clear to me... "Throughout our discussions no conditions other than a waiver in regard to sporting sanctions have ever been raised with us as a major issue. “The Pinnacle Group has been in receipt of a contract from the League for over a week now. “To proceed, all it needed to do was to provide clarification in regard to funding and sign the contract.”
  21. More bull**** as usual. Just buy the club or STFU you tire kicking monkeys.
  22. It's like a mate saying he knows a millionare who really wants to buy a Farrari, do you mind putting a 50K non-returnable deposit down for him!?!
  23. Saints 4 Liverpool 1 during Nichol's 4-2-4 days when the scousers were European champs. Le Tiss, Shearer, Rideout, Wallace n co murdered them.
  24. I cannot believe MLT and Crouch would be dumb enough to pay out their own cash while Lynham was banging on about someone worth hundreds of millions being behind it. It makes no sense.
