  1. I think it just goes to prove that people shouldn't come on here spouting sensationalist rubbish, especially if they don't even go to games. Whilst Guly can get it wrong, he also does a lot right. He remains a player who can make a significant contribution in L1 and the Champ on current evidence.
  2. They beat us at home in the 0-0 draw?

  4. Netbooks were all the rage in early 2009 when they came on the scene but many people have now realized that their severe hardware limitations make them pretty useless unless you just want to do some basic internet browsing. They run office applications okay as well, but you don't really want to be doing significant amounts of work on a cramped keyboard and on a tiny screen. An average netbook is going to come with a single core Intel Atom processor, 1gb RAM and hard drive up to 250gb. You won't get an optical drive so will have to think about how else you are going to install additional software. Falling laptop prices have made netbooks a bit of a white elephant. You can buy an average netbook for £250 but it's not uncommon to be able to purchase an average laptop for £100 more. This extra money is going to get you a machine that will handle the usual range of home computing tasks, although it will also be a lot bigger physically; 15.6" screen size seems to be all the rage now. Personally, I think netbooks are a waste of time. We just inherited one that was running Windows 7 Starter and it was so ridiculously slow, that I've just installed Ubuntu Notebook in order to make it usable. It's a nifty little machine for surfing now it has a decent OS on it but I wouldn't have spent my own money on it. I tried to make the jump to a netbook when they first came out for work and it was a complete no no. I persevered for a year until I was lucky enough to be able to hand it back in and get a proper laptop instead. If you have a smartphone for casual browsing, definitely go for a proper laptop. If you don't have a smartphone and literally just want to play on the internet, a netbook may be an option. However, you should make sure you give the exact model you're considering a test run before purchase so you can see if you can live with the slow speed. Novatech in Portsmouth will sell you a netbook without an OS so you could download and install Ubuntu for free it you have any sort of technical know how.
  5. Delldays - there is no ways it would work with two feet of space in front of a telly. Even the official statement is that it needs six, but some people are reporting probs with that little space.
  6. It has a crummy AMD processor in it though that isn't particularly fast. My experience of those chips says they are horribly noisy.
  7. 9 feet of space in front of tv needed apparently.
  8. I purchased a 20gb Xbox 360 in Oct 06. I suffered one breakdown which happened out of warranty, but Microsoft repaired it for free (I said it looked like overheating probs so they must have happily processed it under the extended warranty scheme for the RROD probs). I have just taken it in and swapped it for one of the new 250gb slim models to benefit from the extra storage as 20gb was becoming a little too tight. The other, additional features on the PS3 (Bluray, iplayer and the like) were all slightly tempting, but I still think the Xbox is the superior gaming machine. I like the Dashboard and the Xbox Live system, which I'm quite happy to pay a token £40 per annum to benefit from. I personally prefer the controller on the Xbox360 as it feels more substantial compared to the rather lightweight and flimsy PS3 offering. I've seen several reviews of games which have been released on both systems which seem to suggest that the Xbox360 versions offer a smoother experience, both gameplay-wise and graphically. I know both systems attract their 'fanboys' and we're not all going to agree on the matter, but the Xbox360 remains the best GAMES console in my opinion. If you want a bluray player and all the other media gubbins, that might make you favour the PS3.
  9. I always liked the idea of a Lambretta when I was too young to have one. Recently I had to decide how I was going to make the daily commute and I started seriously considering a motorbike or scooter. I decided against a bike because of all the additional kit needed and opted for a practical but fun new Yamaha. So now I've got one of these and I love it. I know it's not an old, original Italian model but I was after bullet-proof reliability and under-seat storage that will store a full face helmet and gloves.
  10. What a tight arse fred.
  11. nut roast
  12. Apple are offering 0% finance on all website orders over £450
  13. Even if it was a reason like this there should have been a 'can be recalled' clause in the loan contract and he should have been brought straight back to do a job once Holmes wen on the long-term injured list.
  14. So IYO why on earth was he sent out on loan?
  15. You watch; Puncheon will be another player deemed 'not good enough' for Saints who goes on to put in perfectly acceptable performances for a club above us in the league structure. As others have said, it's ridiculous that the Saints management cannot get Puncheon back here to put in a couple of professional performances until a replacement can be found. We're short of players due to injuries and sending Puncheon out on loan.
  16. i like the bit from the end of 24hour party people when tony sees God.
  17. Christ! He scored a goal in a meaningless friendly. With him we will walk this league. I remember Skacel looking amazing on Youtube.
  18. I don't think there was a full blown op as such. Adkins spoke of their being a couple of treatment options and that one had been used experimentally to see how he gets on. I'm guessing an op is the second, more major, option.
  19. Ah .... the much maligned MkIV Golf GTI in 125bhp spec. Not quite the 2.0l 'monster' but still ****.
  20. As long as Park Road Powerbikes keeps going I don't mind!
  21. No you can't .... definitely not!
  22. Put your money where your mouth is then and stop being a gob****e. £50 says Fonte won't follow Pardew. If he doesn't follow Pardew, you pay the money to charity and post proof on here. I'll do the same if Fonte does sign for Pardew. So, care to back up your claims or are you just another internet warrior?
  23. There is absolutely no way Fonte will go anywhere with Pardew after what happened between the pair of them.
  24. I think "not ****ing off your season ticket holders rules" also permit you from reducing things too much too often. My ticket has cost me about £18 a game and it needs to remain the most cost-effective way of buying a ticket to make it viable.
  25. In a day of firsts, I agree with Semen DullDays. Chaplow, wide man and striker please.
