Gabbi reminds me of Marek Saganowski - scored a hatfull then went off the boil. -
He left cos you're sh*t chant yesterday

That would be funny to see the Old Bill eject and caution everyone caught chanting that at a game. -
All this carping on about Jack Stephens getting bullied by Kane for their goal and he ain't a Premier League centre back, well firstly guess what he is a Premier League centre back, and like many other centre backs playing for other teams he had done to him what Kane has been doing to many supposedly better centre backs for a while now. So get off his back he did hell of a lot of good stuff yesterday away from that moment. In fact the whole team did well, yes Spurs were missing Eriksson but they have enough menace about them in the rest of the team to put in a performance, Kane, Alli, and Son are leathal as a trio playing together, then add in Dembele with his get out of jail free cards he played everytime he trashed a Saints player - when Romeu got booked you could see him standing off just a little afterwards, if he had been booked as he should have been in the first half the Sours midfield would have been playing with a slow puncture. But the front trio were kept pretty quiet overall due to some hard work, our midfield trio of Romeu, Lemina and PEH were instrumental in that, the three of them each have skills to compliment each other keep that trio together and they will become a formidable combination. Think the 3 goals in 2 games for JWP really put some petrol in his tank, thought he had an excellent game and was playing at a level we have seen glimpses of. Folks commented about us looking knackered at the end, we for starters we know Pochettinos training regime for fitness, but despite the bulging bank balances the players are still human, to find yourselves in the bottom 3 of the league, up against a side who can rip you to shreds in minutes, who had spanked you 5-2 only a month ago, the effort to keep Spurs at bay not only took physical exertion on a dirty afternoon but probably used up a fair bit of mental energy too. Still like many have said already this result counts for nowt if we don't get a better result v Brighton. Still nice to drive away from Southampton feeling a bit more positive than I was driving into the City a few hours earlier.

Newcastle - Away on March 10th - Saturday 3pm ?
John Boy Saint replied to manina-pub's topic in The Saints
TV likes this fixture -its almost a token gesture "to please the fans by saving them from a long trip" ................ so expect 4:30pm on a Sunday or just for giggle and to give the taters a line 12:30 on a Saturday "these plucky Saints fans left Southampton at 2am this morning" -
Brighton Certainly don't look crap Chelsea are certainly riding their luck.

Pitch like that there's more likelihood of a repeat Peter Shilton freak goal against us when a goal kick hit the only dry hard patch on the pitch bounced up over the keeper into the net.

I had one of those facebook reminders of what I posted 5 years ago, it was a photo of me and Nigel Adkins taken at the Ricoh Arena after the Championship game up there.......... I then realised that the next 5 year plan the club always banged on a bout was to get back into the Championship. I have always been a glass half full chap when it comes to Saints, right now though I can feel the tug of the reverse.

Hang on the other week he said 2-3-4-5-maybe 6 when asked at the pre match press conference

........not forgetting Lou as a cousin

Regardless of the relation to Saints, him Brendon Batson and Laurie Cunningham (who died 20 odd years ago) were household names where there was any affinity to football back in the 1970's & 80's. 59 is no age these days. RIP

Think dry January might be under threat come next Sunday evening. Watched tonight's game v Everton, second half it was like Pochetino said to them as they left the dressing room, "do well this half and its steak tonight boys" full time he just quickly opened the dressing room door threw the steak in and shut the door just as quickly.

Those saying why didn't the players get in the Refs ear, the majority in the vicinity called it and Cedric got booked for questioning the decision to let the goal stand, at the final whistle he again questioned the ref about the handball, you can clearly see Roger East say "I didn't see it". Not that it helps. I always thought one of the mantras of football was you defend from the front, yet we bring on the tricky players who would make the oppos a bit wary after the horse has bolted!!! It beggars belief

Prowsey on fire!!!! Good on you nipper

Bit forward on there closed a window and I got asked if I would like to indulge in pleasures of the flesh

Bloody referees need VAR on themselves!! How can the ref call an offside, especially when the Lino flags after the whistle!!
-
Pretty much how my nearly ex player mate put when I said "dunno what's happeened to Gabbi" - quick as a flash "that's why he is at Southampton" - "Eh?" - "been floating in and out of goalscoring seams all his life": "one minute Aguero - next 3 months Zero".

Cheers Norm - just got round to viewing them on a decent sized screen Made me think of the evening I took a friend who was an old boy and long time season ticket holder, down to the St Mary's visitor centre before an evening game........his eyes were out on stalks.
-
That made me think of young Olomola, poor lad had a chance to stay on a bit longer at Yeovil but we get him back, play him in the Hampshire Senior Cup earlier this week, very much doubt he will be on the bench tomorrow, poor boy will be pining to be running round Port Vale. will we see him in the squad before the seasons out...........doubt it.

That was a bit like Chris Bairds howitzer against Cardiff (?) free kick outside the box, it might have been Bale instead of going for goal made like he passed it to Surman who appeared to fluff it producing mass groans from everyone in the stands only for Baird to absolutely hammer it from outside the box into the back of the net like a missile. "Oh..........wtf.......Groan..wtf......Stunned Silence........Cheers".

The club asked that the fans left the white seats alone as they had been sold, but were more than welcome to help themselves to the red ones, which as you say they couldn't sell. This was this because the red used to make the plastic seats red contained Cadmium, so was against the law as a hazardous substance to be sold.................you might have been tempted to take the seat home and grind it up to sprinkle on your chips!!............... probably not enough red seats in the Dell to show up on a post-mortem as cause of death.

Tahar taking out 60 Clicks was most enjoyable, what was even more enjoyable was the silly sod buggered himself up even more by making out that he was travelling at 1000mph when contact was made and rolled over about 30 times just to make sure Tahar got sent off but stuffing his knees up in the process (probably told Tahar how much he earned when he went over to apologise) ............... downside was that sending off prevented Matty making his final official outing as a Saints player.

Winchester City v Saints U23s Senior Cup Qtr Finals
John Boy Saint replied to Master Bates's topic in The Saints
Oooo bit risky that......... MP see's the video of the Inter game (?) from last season when Olomola came on and instantly became a one man press of their defence, which brought Puel to the touchline telling him to calm down, MP will have a cold sweat: especially with a random like Boufal on the pitch at the same time.
