  1. Phil Boyer transported through time up front with Rickie Lambert, it would be like the RAF on a bombing raid down the Ruhr Valley every Matchday.
  2. Wasnt that the game where Lawrie Mac in his post match comments said "we got a winning goal, about £4.20 in loose change and a pound of mixed fruit and veg!"? Also Did Frank Worthington have his shorts specially tailored just for the Ladies!!
  3. NC tried to get the tickets for the sections opposite the Royal Box as he didn't want to look out onto empty seats when there was still a big demand for tickets. In the big Radio Solent interview around that time, he mentioned that he approached the FA for the extra tickets with the offer of supplying our own Stewards from SMS, but was very disappointed when the FA turned him down especially as he had done some consultancy work as a favour for the FA. If I recall correctly his words were more or less that he would think twice about offering his advice so eagerly in the future. If the FA had played ball it would have been very interesting to have seen just how many folks we would have taken............ Little Southampton taking 65,000 fans to Wembley for a 3rd/4th Division cup final!! That would have made folks sit up.
  4. Tad harsh............. I still talk to him and I will add I am very happily married with 2 children. He got bored of the witch hunt that some had against him. He still has a passion for Saints. Getting back on thread: Always been John Boy Saint on all channels
  5. Reading that, there is more chance of the Southwestern House station being reserected than a football stadium platform that will see the highest volumes 19 out of 365 days....................... Saints would have to dip into their own pockets for a "station" to be built alongside SMS.
  6. Thats what Mrs JBS says....................................... Opps sorry wrong Forum
  7. People's Front of Judea all the way for me................................ Swiftly followed by the Cheesemakers!
  8. I do believe a team in Spain's fans ALL do wave their white Hankies in support of their team, not sure who? So rather than a protest it might be seen as a warm welcome. I think White Chrysanthemums are a bit negative in Italy, so we could look more civilised throwing them on the pitch en mass in protest and at the same time look more cultured than Chelsea and their Leeks!!
  9. Best wrap up warm, http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2637487?day=1 Applause will be a bit muted when the players come out, what with all the gloves being worn. Wish that Mash of the Day was still just down the road, a pot of their fare put an oven heated breeze block in your stomach, certainly worked that Ivey night a few years back when we played Sheffield United.
  10. It stands the highest chance of being on because Sky are showing it. 10foot snowdrift up the front of SNS and the game might be in doubt.
  11. Obviously didn't hear the damning revaluation in the press conference that Pochetino has been researching the players for a few weeks.
  12. Ooo.......... Is that Old Spice perchance?
  13. ............... WHY?!! Nicely put together
  14. LMFAO!!! Thank you
  15. Do like what the Sun dd do in Argentina take out a full page advert telling them to forget getting the Falklands. Except in this case we have a forum whip round to buy a page in the Swiss press to place the open letter to the Leibherrs asking for them to get that nice Mr Atkins back. Wind and relieving ones self into it springs to mind with this idea.
  16. He made that very strange comment in the post match promotion game interview on Solent
  17. Pretty much similar in the Daily snail. It is all pretty bonkers overall. I just wonder if the object of the exercise from Cortese,at the request of the Leibherr estate, is to get us into a position in the league where we are banging on the top 4 door and offload the club to the highest bidder. i felt that as we were ahead of schedule the plan would be to consolidate then crack on next year, but hey what do I / we know. Still think we have missed a trick with this escapade........ C'est la vie.
  18. Did the players have an inkling before Christmas? Just thinking that the Sunderland game was a strange one where the players played a little like strangers. Still think that the whole thing is a crock, and IF true about Nigel finding out via hacks and not from Cortese's mouth is pretty damn shabby. The other person who I feel sorry for is Forren, he should have had the limelight yesterday except he became a side issue: almost to the point of a good day to bury bad news.
  19. Maybe the fact he speaks Spanish and they speak Catalan being from Barcelona didn't help matters. Better add
  20. Thank you Nigel for giving us sumptuous football to watch over the past few years. Hold your head high with the thought that you achieved more than we could dream of when you stepped into our Saints supporting lives. Good luck wherever you end up next.
  21. Funny not seen owt from Javi on this.
  22. Mrs JBS and daughter #1 reckon he is a Cortese clone!!
  23. Rain Snow Ice always brings out the will the game be on question. As already has been said we have lost 2 games at SMS in its history, only one for pitch condition. From what I understand the pitch piping system which could handle a monsoon downpour on 8" of rain per hour was not connected as the drains around the stadium were not up to the drainage system. They will have covered the pitch if they knew this snow was going to last until Monday, but if the pitch is not frozen anyone who went to Birmingham last season knows the game will be on right up to the very last minute, Newcastle a few years back, also on TV, shows that.
  24. As my mate who played against Shearer and Wallace at apprentice level before blowing his chance at Villa through chasing girls, always says the way Man U are set up to play even he could score a goal for United. Rooney is like a wine that does not travel, or a Guiness outside of Ireland when he pulls on an England shirt.
  25. Thank goodness for that I can come out from behind the Sofa!! Fantastic from 2-0 down. Good tactics put out your second choice players to to soften them up then bring on the big guns and a terrier to put them in a spin.
