Thanks for the update Steve............and especially your perseverance.

Thought there was a bit of shithousing going on when he hung about on the spot - almost “hey did you see the last penalty I took v Everton?” “ you better that and I will stand you and your family a slap up feast of that pickled Puffin you folk all like round here”. Thought JWP did alright seemed to be idling on tick over nice and easy, whilst those around him looked a bit leggy. Noted when Walker went to test the hot water first, Prowsey was over to Southgate to get the positional message to take back to the team. Southgate and JWP have a good relationship going back to when he was his captain for the under 21s/23s - Southgate commented not too long ago that some might accuse him of being JWPs Dad. Kane looked shot very early in the second half.

.............any news on Rudi Skacel?

Brief interlude 3 Keepers snapped for the TV moody pout pre-match line up doings. Right carry on lads.................bet the new sponsor ain't impressed he's covering up their expensive hoarding with his arms!

Aside from Crab Lungs already pulling you for Forster for McCarthy Salisu for Stephens - green horn Premier league newbie youngster who none of us have seen play v experienced premier league defender just coming into the prime age window for centre backs. Actually why not start the season with Vestergaard and Salisu for the first 5 games - most of the knockers on here will soon realise that the Jack and Jan combination is far better than they are given credit for.

Bit lightweight compared to most of the above Longy got pinged recently for 117mph in his Panamera - a car more than capable of stopping well within the distance on the back of the Highway Code for 70mph set by a Ford Anglia - Jammy bugger got off light, able to drive away from court. ............... that’s criminal in itself.

Saints player tests positive for COVID-19
John Boy Saint replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
to back this up There was a player in the Europa League Semi and Final that had been tested positive for Covid only a matter of weeks before making an appearance. Away from football Perez the Mexican driver for Racing Point was tested positive after going to see his ill mother and was quarantined for both Silverstone Grand Prix then was back racing in Barcelona last weekend - Formula 1 might well see you sat on your arse for 90 minutes but most of us normal folk given a chance to drive at race pace in a F1 car, would be having to come in for a rest after 5-6 laps due to the exertion maintaining the pace. There have been other professional sports folk who have been positive and are back out competing in no time. -
Guido Carrillo - Official: Free Transfer to Elche
John Boy Saint replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
What beggars belief is way back when we were sniffing around him, most of us clowns with an opinion on Saints and football in general had our doubts about Carrillo from the sparse and uninspiring YouTube “promotional” videos pinging about. So if a bunch of idiots who are easily fleeced to watch football can spot the bloke is pretty much a steaming pile of a player, how the hell do a bunch of folk highly paid working in the inner sanctum of football, not spot that this guy was not worth anywhere near the club record fee that was stumped up for him...........let alone buy a player to give a manager who was clearly way out of his depth in the a premier league one last chance. Yup most of this has been said already in the umpteen posts in this thread. Absolute car crash -
I emailed the TO because the new system has made a bit of a dogs dinner of my account - got a prompt reply.

Don't forget home games should be better at the start, as none of us miserable moany gits will be in the place groaning at every misplaced pass.
-
But surely the thinking would be to use what you own rather than someone on loan.
-
If both are true, it will be confirmed that Stevie Wonder is our new Chief Scout!!
-
Someone else I know who watches loads of Bundesliga reckons bigger cigars and fuller brandy balloons than were seen at a Monaco when we bought Carrillo would be out in the boardroom after we leave the suitcase of cash on the table after if we buy him.
-
Funny this just came up on my FB timeline, jeez they must have been down the pub cobbling this steaming pile together. We have enough crap kicking around without adding to the stockpile. 30 and likely to be more broken than Lemina. Anyone would think Les Reed had decided to come back to Saints on day release for this to have any legs!

I just had a closer look to check against possible work and holiday dates - all away games clash so far so that's a bit of a result. Just have to get a result in the ballot or whatever they decide...................how weird I looked at those fixtures like I have for past seasons only typing this now I realise I will need to look through them again with "I hope I can see that game - oh and that one there" eyes.

Aways to start and finish the season - that makes a change

Saints player tests positive for COVID-19
John Boy Saint replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
Has KWP been seen? As Saints posted photos of him last week training somewhere hot looking. -
Seem to recall something during pre season last summer that the training regime was proving a bit tough for him and he was moaning about it on some social media or other. If that’s the case I very much doubt Ralph has much time for him. Like we have seen there is a footballer lurking in there somewhere, just beggars belief that him and his brother haven’t worked out that if he did apply himself over 38 games of a season (which in itself would be a landmark on his CV) delivering to his potential, there’s a pretty good chance he would get snapped up by a team willing to pay him even more than Saints do. Trouble is, referring back to his playing CV, right now no decent club able to pay him more is going to waste money on a bloke yet to play a full season anywhere he has been.

This is probably just what he has been waiting for - the Dutch have a stubborn almost belligerent streak running beneath the surface (they are nice people) KNVB pissed him off when he was a shoe in for the National Managers job, before we got him, so much so that he was metaphorically choosing the carpets and curtains for his office. Then just like that they did an about turn and out of the blue appointed Guus Hiddink. Which pissed off Ronald - Dutch friends said that if KNVB came and offered him the gig he would let them suffer and turn them down - which is how they ended up with people like Blind to stumble them along - being out of work must have mellowed him to take the gig, but Dutch friends reckon they must have lined his pockets with Gold and Platinum as the stink from years ago was still wafting round the place. So the Barcelona gig, if he does get/take it, presents him the opportunity to give a 2 finger salute as he skips out the door blowing a raspberry.

No Brainer - well earned.

400 notes!......... Blimey I might have to set my alarm now to be first in the queue for next years concourse sale when that'll be down to 20 quid. However win the league and that £400 will be mere bobbins compared to what you could sell it on for. ☺️

Top three favourite Saints managers in the PL era.
John Boy Saint replied to norwaysaint's topic in The Saints
Strachan - without doubt Hoddle had made the players believe they could win games - Saints faffed about when he left - Strachan came in made us fit enough to win games anyone leaving on 80 minutes missed a whole heap of goals as we had the legs to go 120 minutes easily - if Beatts or Ormerod had scored either of their chances in the 2003 cup final towards the end to force extra time Arsenal would have been battered. 4th place for Christmas after beating p*mpey, that was fairytail stuff for us Saints fans. Poch - Like Strachan made us super fit - a plan B might have been missing - We suddenly had a team of England internationals through what he had squeezed out of them: who would have thought. Koeman - Rebuilt and got us going again after being pillaged by the scousers - That Liverpool game 2-0 down at half time. Saints behind the scenes CCTV catch Sturridge and someone coming out of the away dressing room giggling - our dressing room door opens and Victor Wanyama steps out dressed to play - their giggling instantly stops as they look at him with eyes of "oh s**t!" . When our 3rd went in Koeman out Klopp'ing Klopp with his celebrations superb. We got to play European football under him. If Ralph can get us playing how Ralph would like us to play it could be fun. Adkins needs a mention....... as Hooiveld said, at pre season in Spain, to my mate when asked what the difference was between Adkins and Pochettino - "under Adkins in the Premier League we couldn't defend - now we can"....But Adkins gave us all present one hell of a ride, after years of misery we were Shark in a tank of fish, some of the attacking football we played under him to climb the leagues was breathtaking. -
Michael Obafemi - Official: Signs for Swansea
John Boy Saint replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
Bored journos ground baiting - Can’t see anything happening here Obafemi is a bit of a project for Ralph as he knows there is still polishing and shining to do. Only way he is going elsewhere is if there appears to be no more improvement likely.
