only one absent from the FL Chairmans meeting

And a third one where people can debate issues in a sensible and constructive manner. -
Colin Farmery isn't looking forwward to the season, but I'm surprised other teams' fans haven't predicted the skates for relegation in the Championship Review in the guardian.

Why were so many of our "best first XI" in the league missing ?
Doctoroncall replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Any news on Holmes? I thought he could do well at this level, but if he is injured again only after preseason, then his future must be question. Lallana, Puncheon, Schneiderlin and Holmes out which leaves Hammond, Wotton, Pulis, Mills (sustained injury on sat), O-C Gobern and McNish. -
1) Yes and I wonder when the slash disappeared there were those that were arguing lack of empathy with the fans etc 2) Fans know about the TBT, why not create an opportunity to increase readership of the OS by adding a page about Ted Bates, the trophy and the reason behind cancelling/postponing it. A little effort can go along way.

The Wedding day cost about £2.5k, with £2k the cost of the photograph! That was one thing we didn't scrimp on as it's not something you can do again and we wanted some decent photos of the event. The drink we got from Tesco when it was 25% off and an extra 5% for a case, so got some decent champagne a couple of months before the day, food was from Waitrose catering, my mum made the cake (her hobby) and the reception was at our house.

the official JPT website for you ;-)

Thanks for the summary, it's saved me a few miniutes of trawling.

The rate in Spain now for any new contracts is 43%, Germany is 45%, Italy is 43% while France is 40%. So would the difference (10% or less) be worth a move away from home? I can understand not so many foreign stars coming over but the english players don't do playing abroad.

Funniest Rumours of summer signings from days gone by
Doctoroncall replied to Turkish's topic in The Saints
crikey, that's a good one, I had almost forgot about him. -
I think we have a duty to ask questions on issues that Hutch has raised to get a complete picture, although much may change from the days proceedings, in fact if it goes completely against them, they may as well call it a wake.

A valid point, however as the PL earn ~£600m pounds from the overseas TV rights as the global brand. The skates could only clain image rights on the club name and players - just how many skate shirts have made it out of portsea Island?
-
who to beleive? HurleyBurley or Stu... only one way to find out.

That wasn't so much of a problem, it was the way they did it especially this time of year with the weather patterns in the US.

And that's the whole point, if Alpine used the form up until that date to predict where Saints would finish last season, it was shown to be wrong. I don't know what Alpine is predicting this season or what he is basing it on. I've seen the lack of cover in central midfield, lack of pace, lack of creativity, not a good pre-season and AP not knowing how to play the team. All have their own merits of concern but also can be remedied in weeks.

Could the court case be bogged down in discussing the issue of image right payments? Just a quick search on the interent brought up various articles of HMRC in dialog with PL clubs regarding payment to image companies and tax liabilities: http://www.accountingweb.co.uk/topic/tax/tax-and-football-image-rights-issue/399432 http://www.accountingweb.co.uk/anyanswers/manchester-united-image-rights image rights explained

This just shows how the skates are just trying it on again... will they ever learn? To put the names to the player count he they are. "First team": 1. Mokoena 2. Hreidarsson 3. TBH 4. Wilson 5. Ward 6. Mullins 7. Brown 8. Hughes 9. Boateng 10 Ritchie 11 Nugent 12 Utaka 13 Webber 14 Smith 15 Belhadj (sold?) others playing on tour: 16 O'Brien 17 Kilbey 18 Ciftci 19 Ryan 20 Gregory 21 Martin 22 Pack Others somewhere: 23 Cowan-Hall 24 Hurst (loaned out) 25 Goddard Players trying to get rid of: 26 Nlundulu 27 Subotic 28 Hughes (j) Trialists Ashdown Jordan Stewart So thats 28 players but reports that Billy Goddard, Perry Ryan, Ellis Martin and Peter Gregory will not be counted as well as Hurst who is loaned out to an icelandic team for the season brings in down to 23 with belhadj in limbo as to whether he has been sold.
-
And every day the players aren't sold is cash that is moving into that blackhole, never to return to the skate universe.

Gambling is a dangerous game, especially with the HMRC.

Worked at a motorway services while between courses. I lasted 3 months but was amazed at how some workers were there after a few years. It was dull. The best part was working on the huge dishwasher (3m long) when it was busy as you just kept you going for the whole shift. Nights where OK as you could scoff the decent food! There are certain things I wouldn't eat because of the experience of working there such as pies, although the dishes were put through the dishwasher most of the time there wasn't time to clean them properly so for the next customer there was a bit of pastry from the previous pie! Also the cream desserts only got changed when a customer complained it was off. That was 22 years ago so it would be interesting to see if practises have changed. Soon got out of that as the money was **** poor as well as the management.

He was a trialist... I wonder if they have a duty of care towards him if he has broken his leg?
-
I was assuming he will go as the most valuable asset. £3.2m was the figure I've seen. Perhaps it is one of those that the player wants to go somewhere else but the price being offered is lower from the club... we'll just have to wait and see!
