Targett & Ward-Prowse named in England U21 Euro squad
Doctoroncall replied to S-Clarke's topic in The Saints
Their midfield controlled the game and was the source of Portugal’s strength with William Carvalho, who was hugely impressive, shutting down Tom Carroll while JWP was unable to have the same effect on Bernardo Silva at the other end of Portugal’s midfield diamond. Portugal should do well in the tournament. -
I loved the lack of player analysis, what sort of character he is, how he fits into the team etc. but at least he's brought a buzz to the club lol.

use the Advanced Search and enter 'Guan' or 'K,Billy' into the username field and their posts will come up or add them as contacts (click on their username in a thread), click on settings at the top of the forum, under networking on left panel, click on friends and contacts and they will be listed in the main panel. HTH. I wouldn't add them as friends as they'll have to respond and I'd guess they could be inundated with those requests!

CONFIRMED: Saints sign Juanmi on four-year deal

Don't forget we have Gallagher back from injury and other troubles... unless the club are looking to loan him out. -
CONFIRMED: Saints sign Juanmi on four-year deal

An early signing, an excellent and exciting prospect and a steal at £5m. Well done Saints. -
Giving Statisticians a bad name... A Physicist, a Biologist, and a Statistician see two people enter a house, and then after some time, they see three people leave the house. The Physicist concludes, "My initial observation must have been incorrect." The Biologist concludes, "Clearly, the two reproduced..." The Statistician concludes, "Well, if one more person enters the house, then there will be no-one in the house!"

I think that if the club can maximise the fee of the player then it can negate the loss by buying a similar but cheaper replacement while the academy player continues to develop and pocket the extra cash, unless the academy player is able to step up. It means the players contracts need to be a minimum four years and never get less than two years before negotiating an extension to maximise the price if the players wants to leave, otherwise we get into the Clyne situation. So as we have seen in these past two years and should continue to see, the quality of player will slowly rise and maybe also hanging on to the academy players will occur as the club can compete at the higher end of the table rather than the survival situation we're been used to before relegation from the PL. It's pressure on the scouting department to identify the youngsters and those older players ready for the first team to get it right but there seems to be a good framework in place to deliver it... (as long as it's followed... cough Osvaldo cough). -
Ravanelli did well at Boro... 20 years ago!

Breaking News: Fifa officials arrested.
Doctoroncall replied to CHAPEL END CHARLIE's topic in The Saints
I'm fed up with the politicians and Dyke banging on about the Qatar WC, currently there is no reason to strip Qatar of its tournament and they should stay silent, until there is evidence of a corrupt vote. I'm happy for it not to take place there from the perspective of it's a stupid place to hold it and the countless deaths that have occurred and will no doubt continue in building the infrastructure. Also, it's worth remembering the gifts the England FA gave to the FIFA executive wives and the fact Dyke has accepted not one but six watches during his time as FA chairman. -
At most it would be ~£7m with all three teams bouncing back in the first season, highly unlikely, so not a revenue stream to count on.
-
Need to also consider Les Reed's comments on strengthening the first team so A replacement to any important players leaving (so thinking first team players). I cannot imagine a youngster like Reed being lined up to replace Schneiderlin, whereas Osvaldo I can see that happening too with Gallagher.
-
It would unbalance the side greatly if he were to leave. Six million would not buy an equivalent player with regards to stature with the club and players. Very unlikely he'd move, where else would be better.... That would need him?

Go with whatever suits you. I have a Fitbit, for £35 it's good value (tesco club card vouchers deal). It logs steps, miles, weight, sleep and calories if you add the food into the app. You can also do challenges with friends. There are some which do more but are more expensive so depends on your needs. Some are more like training aids for those wanting to get in good shape too.

The joys of summer, don't forget the odd trawl and update of year old threads!

He's favourite to win convincingly as the majority of the organisation is corrupt in some form... otherwise it's like turkeys vote for Christmas if they back Prince Ali.

Can we get it serialised on this thread. It shouldn't take many posts, promise to pay a £1 and then only pay 2p.

Great insight you have there on the deal Shaw did by himself... I'm surprised you didn't include the fact those having blonde hair have a higher IQ than those with dark hair, as that may have got him an extra million.

This. Moved where there is no gas, so went induction. Absolutely love it, thought I wouldn't as I enjoy cooking and always had a gas hob.

But how much game time compared to Elia and Djuricic has Hesketh and Gape et al had to help their development?
-
Seager plays for the U21s. Arsenal have Chris Willock and Charlie Gilmour on four year deals so it will not be Arsenal chasing after Slattery.
-
He didn't put a timeframe on promotion. Only put pressure on the Manager to do it at some point in his tenure.
-
They SHOULD at least make the play-offs in terms of what the have in resources with the new Manager, some of the current players and what they can afford with new players. Perhaps the pressure of favourites will get to them or the players may not appreciate the training ground arrangements. There are still a few good teams in the league... what with Notts County, Crawley and Leyton Orient coming down from League One to join Luton, Northampton and the three losers of the play-off this season.
