Matt Le Tissier is the best player I've ever seen play in the flesh for us or anyone else. His son and my daughter were born the same night at the Princess Anne and a fond memory is chatting for hours as two young men (clearly petrified) in the 'Father's room' about everything apart from football - down to earth, funny and makes a decent cup of tea - a genuinely nice chap! The winning trophies thing always comes up in interviews, and I hope at some point he retorts that it's only like playing for Liverpool currently. He should however have won many more England caps, but Gazza was the creative pin up boy at the time even though he was about half the player of Le Tissier. Imagine him for a moment in that Koeman side of a couple of years ago, the nearest Ronald would get to building a team around his boyhood hero, Cruyff.

Next instalment from Western shore.

He is the master of motivation, and clearly keeping himself fit whilst looking for a club. What's not to like - https://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/hatem-ben-arfa-weirds-out-internet-bizarre-motivational-video-holiday

I think Ralph as host should go down the Jeremy Kyle route and force Les to undertake a live lie detector test in front of the fans. Hearts and minds.

We should resurrect this song, Connolly used to love it!
-
Happy with that at this stage in the season to be honest, Hughes clearly a motivator.

Welcome home, welcome, Come on in, and score for fun! We hate Pompey, he’s one of our own et al.

Just seen him getting of the plane - sombrero, big sunglasses, hotel backrobe in the suitcase - consummate professional.

Summer 2018 - Other teams Manager/transfer business

I think we may have. -
This could end up playing out like the Truth and Reconciliation Commission hearings after the fall of Apartheid in SA! At least we now know where old Les has been since the new year - making a Ned Kelly suit of armour in his palatial shed!
-
Pelligrino upping his plans to relegate them in his first season! At least he’s consistent.

Very good second half and in the flesh we looked like a team with purpose and drive for the first time in a long time. We were never going to correct a series of bad windows over one summer but the new boys and returning loanees did some good work tonight and Hughes will have been pleased. COYR!
-
Well said! That’s my three...
-
Davis Clyne Hoover Fonte Fox Ward Prowse (Davis) Schneiderlin Lallana Do Prado Puncheon (Sharp) Rodriguez (Lambert) When you look at that line up we have definitely gone backwards and need two, perhaps three more in this window alone to be competitive. I really like the look of the incoming players this summer but a series of atrocious windows has weakened us so we are playing catch up.
-
This, clearly.
-
Window still open so stay optimistic. Pretty good at present, more strengthening / restructuring (including the essential firepower) and possibly very good.
-
Two or three more decent signings, crucially some additional firepower, and we may well finish higher than 12th (8th to 10th is perhaps where we should 'fit' to be honest), and I'm going for solidly mid-table under Hughes this season. I think we will have team spirit, be more workmanlike and harder to beat, an optimistic comparator might be the Strachan era, but we will see.
-
Mid table obscurity for SFC. Highlights elsewhere Arsenal and Everton to struggle and Klippity found out and lauded as the first Manager to be without a trophy after spending £1 billion on players

Or Ralph Krueger’s arse!... -
Second coming, solve our striker problem and he can’t jump high enough to nut our new centre half. Black box has clearly computed that now is optimum time.

That was after he turned down Gao’s offer to start up an SFC YMCA Soccer School in Helmand.
