  1. Lot of comparisons to Mane, but aren't they fairly different in style/position? Mane is most effective playing narrowly, alongside a striker as he was/is very good at finding pockets of space between the lines. Isn't Sulemana more of classic winger? Could be wrong, but if he is a classic winger, it might explain why he's not starting in the 4-2-2-2 now it's back.
  2. The hope is he'll find his level in the championship. Clearly no way near a Premier league player.
  3. Agreed. Moment for me is a long throw, surely perfect for him to attack but he was easily kept away from it.
  4. AA's biggest strength is his pressing/hard work. So either use him from the start of not at all, couldn't be less of an impact player.
  5. Lavia is wonderful, such a brilliant central midfielder. His awareness and decision making are incredible for one so young.
  6. Indeed. Guess the optimistic view is some of the deadwood might become alivewood upon being relegated to the league below. Thinking players like AA, Diallo, Aribo etc. might find their level.
  7. Yep, think that is our best bet.
  8. Literally the whole thing was a publicity ploy. Country's full of morons getting angry about it, worked perfectly
  9. Could be an option in the championship - especially as we'd likely lose all our first team CMs.
  10. Interesting change back to 4-2-2-2 today. Not sure which of our players can successfully play the narrow #10 role, hench why Ely played. Edozie is better playing wider IMO.
  11. I'm pretty sure any of the exceptional youngsters, including Tino, will go. JWP and KWP will probably go. And I expect players where there is likely to be demand but they're not valued that highly here (Adams, Perraud) will go. Think that leaves something like: Bazanu Bree DCC* 'New CB' Larios New DCM Ely Aribo A.Armstrong Orsic Tall Paul *assuming Jones goes
  12. Worst case? I think that team looks very strong for the championship.
  13. From a size perspective, he's Adam Armstrong x 2
  14. The players clearly have no idea how to play this formation, could be a big score this. Farcical.
  15. Just to add a boring point - he should really help sure up our defence at set pieces, one of our biggest weaknesses. Also, who doesn't love a 6'7" behemoth of a striker.
  16. Why is he Djenepo MK 2.0?
  17. Probably just see it as an opp to pick up a bargain. Reckon we'll let him go for pretty little and they might think they can turn things round for him.
  18. We should be throwing the kitchen sink at trying to get Ramos, he's exactly what we need. Whether he's happy playing championship football next year is another matter.
  19. Tino situation is getting quite concerning.
  20. Che has decent attributes as a striker but is a dreadful 1 on 1 finisher, incredibly bad. He can't be the 1 up front as we need our furthest player forward to be able to finish those chances.
  21. Midfield looked very good last night and we have decent options in there, especially if the Danish chap signs. It's the bits either end of the field that aren't up to scratch. It is great to be finally playing a 3 man midfield.
  22. Have they announced ticket timings?
  23. Indeed. At the heart of it, he's just technically not a very good defender, things like his positioning and defensive decision making are poor. He makes up for it, in some part, due to his workrate and willing and is quite good on the ball. If he's to be a long term option, I think he's either got to: 1. Properly re-train as a swashbuckling right back 2. Develop a lot in his technical defensive capabilities 3. Play in a back 3 that specifically compensates for him
  24. That first half was superb. We'll see if it's a flash in the pan or geniune progress.
