  1. I think this clearly illustrates that 'Free - Market' capitalism is a complete con. Monopoly Uber Alles and to hell with the 'Little man'. Murdoch and his ilk have had it too easy for too long. Not only do they dictate to Clubs' when they will play but also at what TIME they will play as it's their choice which matches are aired. Next they will be organising the 'fixture' lists. Unfortunately the decision to allow a 'foreign encoder' will mean little as 'copyrights and jingles' will be increased to eliminate any UK competition.
  2. I'd much prefer to watch the game as it happens as the 'Big Screens' NEVER show fouls, goals or penalties. The only thing they are of use for is the 'time' and even then they can't put the add-on up. Save energy. Abandon the screens!
  3. I'm more confident about tonight than I was on Saturday against Burnley (Look what they did to Forest last night?) I have a gut feeling that we will emerge as victors with a possible 3 - 0 win for us. Cardiff are NOT the team they were last season and before any of you start making comparisons, WE ARE the team that got promoted and very little has changed. The confidence in our squad is there for all to see. COME ON YOU SAINTS!
  4. Another arrogant tosser who is a direct decendant of Humpty Dumpty!
  5. Yeah! It's called 'Montagues Mansion' and is ideal for 'Posh does'
  6. Just like to ask. How many 'Championship' players are in the England squad? Week in week out we get the 'Prem' rammed down our throats and I am NOT in the slightest bit interested. With the 'Prem posers' regularly picked to play for England I get exactly the same feeling. If the FA had any balls at all they would withdraw from FIFA and England could play friendlies with some respect and a lot of support.
  7. Quite a number of posts question the signing of ANOTHER left back. Is that positive or are you wearing the 'rose tinted'?
  8. I was 'Joking'. Didn't you see the non profane use of 'FOX'?
  9. Oh! For Fox sake. Stop the negativity. We've just signed a really competent player and should be grateful to NA for the addition.
  10. Listened to 606 on the way home and somewhere just North of Winchester on the A35 a Poopey called in and if he said 'They are a sleeping giant' once he said it ten times. He was almost incoherrant and we were a little non-plussed at his limited vocabulary. If he is an example of a Skate then perhaps we shouldn't go after them but just let them 'sleep' in silence
  11. I've already got a 'Yellow' shirt and on the front is SANDERSON. It'll do!!!
  12. I wrote my Oxford Thesis (unpublished) on the 'Dockers Strike in Southampton in 1889' There was no 'rivalry' then as Southampton was 'Merchant Marine' and P..py 'Military'. In the '50's Blacklegs from P..py took on work the Southampton Dockers had 'Blacked'.The animosity started around that time and culminated in the abuse of Ted Bates at the Dell. I don't hate them. I just don't bother wasting any time on them the inbred ........ !!
  13. Mrs.H and I have had our three Grandsons over for a few days. Yesterday as a 'treat' we decided to take them by train to Aberystwyth in Central Wales for the day. Whilst we were sitting having our 'lunch of Fish and Chips' on the Promenade a guy with a foreign accent started to talk to our 10 year old. "What'll Ricky do on Saturday then?" he asked as Dan was wearing his Number 7 LAMBERT shirt (the one with the red sash) "He'll stuff them Leeds people and get a hat trick" says Dan in reply. The guy and his Missus and daughter (An Ipswich supporter) all introduced themselves and he's an STH in the Kingsland (he's just moved from the Chapel). We had a really good chin wag and offered him a share of our chips. He couldn't believe that we could be so dedicated to be STH's from Shropshire. He said "I'll see you on Saturday then. We definitely will beat them" I never thought for one moment that I'd ever see a fellow Saint in Aberystwyth, but as he lives in Highcliff and was up on a few days holiday at his brothers place until today (Thursday) it made perfect sense. See you all on Saturday. Come on You Reds!
  14. I've already posted previously on this. Saints wouldn't accept his ridiculous 'Wage' demand.
  15. I've not missed a 'Blog' since he started. I love his reference to the 'Chuckle Brothers'. Went to the 'Tri-partite' Tourney last saturday with my Nipper and Three Grandsons and experienced our Bloggers frustration. For the first game we sat in front of two women who continually gossipped about TV Progs- 'Oooo... I love Come dine with me (I thought go home and watch the telly then) and Jeremy'. (I had to ask Mrs H what that meant!) Is he for real? Then for the Second game the Bloggers 'Chuckle brothers' were behind us and what a pair of 'hand shandy' experts they were. Every ball, kick, throw in, or decision was remarked upon and none of it reflected what was going on on the pitch. I hope 'Blogger' sits in front of these two again as the humour is infectious'. Keep the Blog coming oppo. My Grandson who lives over in Stamford, Lincs reads it every week and says the 'Match Reports are far superior to any Sports Correspondent.
  16. You arrogant, patronising pillock! Lots of us 'oldies' are STH's and to be 'slurred' in this way is most offensive. Apologise you clown!
  17. My 'Blues' supporting neighbour (he is a Brummy) tells me that they are in deep 'doo doo' and there's every possibility they will have to apply for 'receivership' and go into administration as the financial situation is appalling. He's worried they'll be deducted the ten points like us and drop down yet another level.
  18. This. I thought Davis distribution was diabolical at times. Bialowkowski was excellent in the first match against Bremen. We will have to wait and see if Adkins plays Bart against West Brom.
  19. Prior to the KO in the Second match they practiced in a 'Battleship Grey' which TBH was awaful. However, when they streamed down the Tunnel in the Yellow and Blue and into the sunlight almost everyone around us were 'in favour'. Personally I like it. What a change from the dour 'Referee Black!'
  20. Yet another piece of fantasy by Darren (never in the know) Lewis.
  21. You've probably read this at least ten times now but I still feel quite proud to be a 'Saint'. I was a Matelot at HMS.Diligence in Hythe.Just back from the far East and posted to Hythe. With an oppo from Hedge End we left the base and had a pint in the Murrays. the Nelson then the Drummond (all on the Hythe side). Caught the Hythe/Soton Ferry and got off to have one at the Post Office at the bottom of Below bar. We then proceeded up High Street and Bedford Place for another then into the Hulse Road Social Club where we had another couple. Bought our tickets on the gate in the Milton and watched the match. Afterwards back to the Hulse Road SC and an evening of 'pleasure'. This was in January 1957. I haven't stopped supporting Saints since. They are,and always will be my Club.My nipper, daughters, grandkids and friends are all Saints.(We don't associate with that lot from down the road) Do I get a Medal?
  22. My Nephew was also at the Airport this morning and after reading these comments (he was going back to Guernsey) he asked should he have a word with the Le Tiss family just in case Matty is coming back!!
  23. Oh! Come obn. If I could afford it I'd move back South tomorrow!
  24. Does anyone have any idea what the 'Top' rate being paid to a Saints player is at present? I was told (recently) that it is £15000 per week and that's why CMS and Billy didn't want to come here. Why the hell would the '****ehawks' pay £22000 (Allegedly) per week to CMS? Compare the Prem 'Posers' to the Championship and its only the wages at Leicester that fall into line.
  25. Mrs.H was in Hospital for 12 days recently and irrespective of the time actually 'parked' the charge was £2. Thankfully the charge lasts for 24 hours and you can go in and out as many times as you wish for the £2. Having to pay for parking these days is the norm.Now... when I was a nipper look, we couldn't afford a car see, so we walked to the Ferry and then to the Dell. How times change eh?
