  1. It will be interesting to see who NA fields against the Gooners. I honestly believe he made a big mistake against Manure but we now have the makings of a decent Prem side and as such he will be looking to frustrate and beat them. I am ever the optimist and therefore I predict a narrow win for Saints.
  2. Say what you will but Adkins lost us the game (as he did against Wigan). For Manures second and third only ONE Manc was in their half, the keeper! Why Oh Why don't we put someone up in the centre circle when we are defending corners? Ferdinand and Vidic would never get back to catch Mayuka or even Guly, and Ricky would have marked their Tall players at any corner, why didn't Jay Rod? JR on the left wing? You must be joking Mr.Adkins. He's 6'2"(?) yet the little 'speed merchant' was put in the middle. Eight minutes to go, 2 - 1 up and we lose 2 - 3.Lessons to be learned? To bl..dy true there are!!!!!
  3. Shocked! Here's me thinking he's going to stay and then NA lets him go to Forest! Hope you do well Bill. Thanks for the memories.
  4. Maybe it's that Centre Half of Middlesborough eh ?
  5. I think this thread is getting a little 'overheated' by some of the inflammatory remarks being made. Billy Sharp is a 'Saint' and will remain so for the considerable future. He just ain't scared of getting 'stuck in' whereas others appear to 'bottle' at the first challenge. Go for it Bill and prove the doubters wrong.
  6. I shall be posting on Sunday night. "I was there when we stuffed Manure...down their throats"!! COYS
  7. Does the OP mean the 'Player' as a youngster or the 'Spectator' as a youngster?
  8. Have you noticed he's got TWO good feet.Scoring with both left and right. About time someone in 'the know' had a closer look and acts very quickly.
  9. Adkins got it wrong. We lost. Next time he may get it right.I'm not losing any sleep over it.
  10. I don't think for one second that NA will take Wigan for granted. He'll already have decided what formation he will use and hopefully we won't get egg on our faces like Brizzle last season. We may have played well on Sunday but we still have to ensure we don't lose our first home game.
  11. I've just re-read some of the posts on the 'Build Up' page. Funny how so many of you have changed your minds eg 'I'll go 3 - 0 to City' 'If we come awy with less than 5 I'll be happy' etc etc. My post 110 says quite clearly that I'm positive. After todays performance I'm even more positive. My only real concern is 'Why does Kelvin continue to let in near-post efforts?' Perhaps he really ought to do a bit more practice in this area. I'm quite looking forward to Wigan next Saturday and even more so against Manure the week after. Just hold onto the ball a little bit better and we'll be just fine.
  12. There's quite a few of us who live in the Midlands from Northampton clear across to Shrewsbury. We GO to matches. I think the survey is quite misleading insofar as the terms 'Supporters' and 'fans' are used at the same time. Would anyone like to discern the difference? You either 'support' a team or you don't. PS. I see from todays press that RVP is going to be on £200,000 a week at Manure. Will that make him a better player than Silva at Citeh?
  13. I doan wanna be a Mod. I'd sooner be a Rocker!
  14. Every now and then a 'Minor' team does the business on a 'Major' team. Sunday is the day that Southampton FC outplay Man City and come away with three points. This is counter to all you miserable defeatists who appear to believe we'll lose. They have eleven players and so do we.Half of City players can't even communicate with each other and that's why they are so good on paper. When Mancini says 'Go ahead back' the Sun,Mirror,Express, Mail and all the other tabloids think he's saying something profound. COYS I'm a believer.
  15. There's so much 'obfuscation' in this story it just gets muddier and muddier. Holloway don't like us because we comprehensively beat him in the FA Cup at Saint Marys and then rubbed it in by singing 'Premier League? You're havin' a laugh'!
  16. After last nights performance we don't need him. Why the hell didn't he wait until the ball was kicked rather than pre-empt the kicker? Far too many keepers these days dive before the kick and then the 'tater' says 'He was sent the 'wrong way'. Sorry to be so negative but he ain't as good as Gazza.
  17. Where do people get this rubbish from? Leon (Hasbeen) Best. Well past it and NO! NO! NO!
  18. If we really do sign him will his nickname be 'Patsy' (as in C and W warbler) and will his song be 'Crazy'? Just a thought. I'll get me coat!
  19. Wherever he goes I wish him luck. On Saturday he had no hesitation when I asked if I could have a photo of him with my three grandsons. Lee shook their hands and posed with a big grin. He asked where we were from and I told him.He remarked "It's so good to see such dedication from you all" I shook his hand and thanked him. A really nice lad who went out of his way to give my Grandsons something to remember. PS The photo is excellent.
  20. Well done Billy! Even though I travel (with my Nipper and Grandsons) 0ver 400 miles return trip (we are all STH's) I still love to read your own appraisal on each game. Whatever you do don't let those 'Fishf.....s' down the road get anywhere near your Blog as they've just had yet another 10 points deduction. I don't know much about deduction but I'd personally love to see total REDACTION of them. I'll be there tomorrow with the family and I'll buy you a pint should we ever meet. Thanks for the entertainment. It is much appreciated.
  21. Ps I studied cynicism at uni and got a first. I waved my foam hand at graduation. Yeah! But what do you do for an encore?
  22. A 'Villa' mate tells me that we've signed a genuine 'committed' player who will give his all for Saints.Welcome Steve. look forward to seeing you in a Saints shirt soon.
  23. I've spoken to many supporters of Prem Clubs recently and all are convinced that the way Saints play 'pass the ball and hold onto it' will frustrate the hell out of three or four of the top six. We'll be OK. Stop all this nonsense by not believing the 'London Press'.
  24. Cheating is endemic in higher league football. Watch the extra three yards on the free kick, the extra ten or so for throw-ins, the speed at which players shake off that 'crippling' foul. Diving is diving. We can all see it. One red card would put the sh.ts up most of them. OK Refs get it wrong but if he sees a dive then 'Red it'. The player can always appeal if he didn't dive!
  25. Keep 'em fit and slot them in as and when required.
