  1. I'll say.... 10th....ish.
  2. You will never be taken seriously again (as though there was a risk of that anyway....)..... enjoy!
  3. So, how does it feel to be wrong, again? Pretty good i'm guessing?
  4. We would need Villa to lose against Wigan but only just, and for us to lose by at least 0-13 at home to Stoke. SAFETY!!!!!!
  5. Never in doubt.
  6. SAFETY!!!!!! Oh f**k yes!!!
  7. Ft 1-1 we are f**king safe
  8. If we both lost it would need a 12 goal swing in their favour. Saints 0-13 Stoke Villa 0-1 Wigan
  9. I think it does. If Wigan win it, Villa will still be below us on goal difference.
  10. One more for safety now..... WOOOOOT Saints, f-ing WOOOT!!!!!! Or do we wheel out the nuns instead?
  11. YES!!!!!!!!!! Get in Punch!!!!
  12. Guly plays better in from of Shaw. He actually keeps position and closes down properly.
  13. Puncheon for Lallana and Mayuka for Lambert please Poch!
  14. 3 now for Norwich. They be safe.
  15. Just sorting out the grammar there. Unless of course the idea of Jay being our best player does indeed sadden you.
  16. We do need a dead ball specialist in the summer.
  17. Lovely possession play. No final ball.
  18. Merson: Saints are comfortable on the ball, wearing the Brazil kit and playing like them.
  19. There may well have been overspend, but the real damage was done down the road when Gaydamak came to town. I would not have expected the implosion down to League 2 on the back of a spell of Mandaric ownership. He does have a reasonable record of taking on Football Clubs and taking them forward. (Leicester to King Power's millions/Sheffield Wednesday work in progress)
  20. If it was debt their owners couldn't afford to pay, then yes. The Skates didn't cheat to get into the Premier League. Neither did we, or Fulham or Wigan, or even Blackburn back in the early 90's. Mandaric, Leibherr, Al-Fayed, Whelan and Sir Jack Haywood took on the clubs and paid the way. The cheating for the Skates came when their wages/transfer fees went stratospheric under the leadership of Gaydamak/Storrie/Redknapp. A spend money we don't have sod all the consequences approach, that was cheating. Their two cup finals were a byproduct of that approach.
  21. Didn't they have something similar to this last year? Would be a great event to go to mind.
  22. For Saints fans to criticise Wigan as they have had a benefactor would be something of a hypocrisy. Their model is seemingly similar to ours, spend on squad/infrastructure to get to the Premier League and then aim to be self sustaining. Of course, the self sustaining bit is the hard part...
  23. A good question. If they have debts on the same or even half scale, then yes. Looking at the money used to assemble the team, only 11 million in transfer fees and a wage budget which is widely regarded as on the lower end of the Premier League scale, I would consider it highly unlikely. Dave Whelan is a true benefactor, just like our own Markus Leibherr. The Skates were simply a front for shady process, but of course their fans were so deluded as the 'bestest' in world football that they could see nothing wrong with it.
