We played ok, the worst thing about it last night was the frustration and angst from the crowd. Entirely understandable as Manchester United were there for the taking, but it did undermine what was a reasonable performance. My thoughts: - Boufal and Pied looked ok when they came on, Boufal clearly was making efforts not to over-do it after a bit of skill and Pied was eager to impress and showed a good turn of pace on occasion. - Gabbiadini was isolated, again. Could it simply be that people are now wise to him? We can criticise our poor finishing until the cows come home, but at what point do we look to our tactics and match preparation as reason for this? - Tadic, one of his better games. Some excellent link up play. - Targett, clearly bulked out a bit but without the attacking threat from Bertrand we were significantly weakened. - Stephens and Yoshi: Solid again. A perfectly acceptable partnership building there. Man Utd played for a point, they clearly had the quality to hurt us but were more concerned with staying free of injury and tidy. Not to detract from us though as we did control the game. -

Absolutely, remember it well, hence why I asked. Also, before Birmingham in the Championship the heavens absolutely opened, a Steward I was friendly with confirmed that had it continued the game would have been postponed. -

Any chance of the game being rained off? It's not stopped all day here. -
And with that, the lame dog can be finally shot.

The usual fluff. Actually feel sorry for Puel. I do believe he deserved another season. At least he should be afforded the dignity of seeing the season out before making the change early next week. No point hanging around.

No Pogba, No Ibrahimovic, focus on the Europa League final, likely to play their reserves/fringe players. I look forward to seeing how we fail to win this one. I have never seen us beat Man Utd in person, so apologies beforehand. -
Worth seeing how some of the fringe players do, this game is the very definition of a dead rubber, so why not?

I doubt Craig Shakespeare would follow as things stand. Regarding Ranieri He is not the youngest, his success at Leicester will never be repeated and he has suffered significant failure in his career, Atletico Madrid, Greece and his second season at Leicester spring to mind. However: As manager of Valencia, Roma, Chelsea, Fiorentina, Juventus and Parma he has win ratios above 40%, nudging 50% on average. Extremely experienced and certainly more of a personality then Puel. I would give him a go.

Relegated Teams - Players who would you buy from their Squads?

If we lose Bertrand, Andrew Robertson from Hull. -
Wide stripes then? hmmmmm. Under Armour are not afraid to be a bit out-there with their designs, so something a bit different could be on the cards I wonder.

That is just......... Oh brilliant!!!!

Excellent article. Sums up my feelings quite nicely. I do think Puel has earned another season.
-
This is the big fear for me. I would far rather have the pragmatic stability offered by Katharina then a riskier alternative.
-
If this is such a critical issue, then why has it been so difficult for us to make an impact in this competition until this season? Puel managed to achieve what Pochettino, Adkins and Koeman have all failed to do, not to mention the managers we had outside of the top flight for so many years. The league cup final appearance and our performance in the competition (the only team in it's history to reach the final without conceding I believe?) deserves credit.

Alternatively, for a comedy eleven. Manager: Poortvliet GK: Forecast DR: Otsemobor DL: O'Halloran DC: Jakobsson DC: Davenport MR: N'Guessan MC: Pulis MC: Quashie ML: McCann S: Pericard S: Robertson Sub: J. Wright Congratulations chap! I hope you have a wonderful day.

Personally I think Puel has earned a second season. Top half finish within reach, a cup final despite the Europa league campaign diverting focus. All this in the context of spending half the season without a striker and playing the run-in with a stand-in defence. However, if we need a replacement: Wagner

So, despite crowds vastly in excess of the most, if not the rest of League 1, you will need extra money coming in to be competitive? At what point will you be able to admit that you are run by out of their depth idiots? As a final aside, cute that you still behave as though it's a 'shareholding.'

Remember that day so well. Just incredible. My favourite goal back in the PL is Rodriguez v Fulham in the 0-3 away win in 2014. A great performance and his vision to score from the angle was just phenomenal. So many good things have happened in the last 5 years, looking forward to whatever the future journey may hold.

Expecting nothing from this game, they need a result desperately, we are playing for pride, although against Chelsea we looked ok. Will say a 1-1 draw.
-
Not Leicester. (Assuming they still walk out to that Fox hunting bugle stuff.) Birmingham City used to walk out to 'Feel It' by Tamperer ft. Maya. Worked well with the home crowd in unison chanting 'Blues-Blues-Blues' at the appropriate time. Not classic, but effective. Did like us emerging solely to 'The Saints are Coming.'

Stop being so grounded in reality. As the Skates have found, that gets you nowhere!! Clearly the blue few are about to rise to the top again!!

Interesting.

Adama Traoré and Maguire (Even if Hull don't go down.)
