So, the chief rat scuttles down the frayed rope tying the good ship Pompey to the harbour wall (aka Football League), not daring to look back at the motley crew of cut throat pirates and mercenaries that he has assembled in case they chop his tail off; the rat clearly knows once the ship sets sail (PST bid completed) that the good ship is mortally holed below the water line and will sink before it has gone too far, and then like the Mary Rose before it, it will take many years before it is resurrected. The ships bell will toll as it sinks below the sea, the last thing to be seen a grubby blue and white table cloth flag drifting on the flotsam...

Yok, the Turkish word for none, nothing, no, few - simple but full of impact!

he actually sounded close to realistic this morning on Solent when discussing the FA Cup tie; said the most important thing was ensuring League One survival, so he clearly expects the -10 to be applied. Then said it will be a 'massive' season for the club NEXT season.??

How do Saints Premier League Managers compare after 9 games...
fanimal replied to georgeweahscousin's topic in The Saints
12 managers in all, you just forget how many we have had when you include Burley, Porthole etc as well, quite scary. Just proves you need some stability for once and mental strength, not panicking 6 times at every game FGS! (Team, first half, half time, subs, full time and post match reaction) -
Please no Boruc, Yoshida Davis or Puncheon. They have added nothing to the squad or team other than division. We need a TEAM!! Balance. PACE!! A goalkeeper that can distribute - Gazza; A CB that can head and will at least try to tackle - Jos; Cork the missing link and then either Mayuka or Ramirez.

I am going to the BIC to watch Seal in concert, should be a great evening, looking forward to it!! It will save watching the game live on SS, wringing every part of my body, getting stressed when no need to at this stage of the season (FGS calm down everybody, way to go!) and then hopefully come out to a raft of joyous texts celebarating a draw and rush home to watch the recording. Its waht dreams are made of...

I am not taking it personally, or actually complaining about the analysis, which was fair (although I would have liked to have seen the header chance JRod had), I just felt the comment about Jose was unjust as he clearly slipped. Nor did i say the ref made a game changing decision, just that he was poor generally. But as we all know, when you are at the bottom, slips, own goals, deflections, niggly refs, all these things go against you. And I like the fact they highlight the space we leave when playing too narrow. Yoshida cannot tackle or score from 3 yards.

Goal 1; 'is this game not a contact sport anymore?' - taking the p*ss now; Goal 2; 'well, comical...' Unfair as had Jose not slipped he would have booted the ball clear like Gallas did all second half. At least no controversial game deciding official mistakes to debate in our game; the only thing the ref got right was booking their left back.

He is pretty good with his summary on the property value element and procedure/processes. For the PST it would be like your dad letting go of you at the top of a big long slide knowing that he wont be able to catch you at the bottom and stop you having a nasty landing.....

Just got a bad feeling they will want to get one over on us for last year and Andy Carroll will have a field day....
-
Just heard that the Miland land administrators have had 3 Unconditional bids at an acceptable level which is remarkable in the circumstances as the land has a much higher value with a planning consent and is effectively blighted by PCC wanting to see a comprehensive scheme including reserving land for expanding th estadium (God knows why though!) Must be low B1 use value from a chancer or two, who might that be then??

We are still trying to play good football and entertaining the paying customer which it is all about.

Time to increase the average age, height and strength of the team, it has been said and we have seen it in front of us not too long ago, you cannot win with kids. Time to be a bit more boring. Time to park the bus a) when it suits and b) check the tachometer, driver hasnt got too tired, (as its been bombing along in the outside lane for a while now), tyre pressure, need a spare? or, no, sod it, just sit back and enjoy the ride, even if it is a scary roller coaster!!

Back to dodgy kick off times on a Sunday. I like winning on a Saturday afternoon, enjoying the evening and reliving it on Sunday, a proper weekend!

Arthur Lallana, he's messy and ****es...(apologies to all, but could not resist)

This idea of 5 at the back (becoming 4 in the middle when going forward) seems to have alot of support, mainly as it would seem to fit our players. I could certainly see Yoshida as a sweeper, Fraser and Clyne both bombing on down the wings. It would mean no room for Puncheon if you have 2 holding midfielders. I think it has lots of merit away from home. Might have to start with JRod as the man up front as per Man City.

Why on earth was this game not 'free' to Season ticket holders to at least get a decent sized crowd in and some atmosphere for a Cup match?! At least the younger occasional fans in the Northam who come in for the cheaper matches tried to get some noise going - it would help the players to see less empty seats. We had 9 'first teamers' playing last night (Seaborne and SDR excluded) you can see the training disciplines even when a team is thrown together like this. That is why it was a good performance, you must judge the team as a whole not a set of individuals. Best for me was Gazzas near post saves, bettered only by the Wednesday goalie tip over from his own defender, briliant reactions!

Butterfield and Chaplow will start as at Stevenage.

I think the win over Villa will put a few more on the gate, then depends what the weather does! Should be a good team, several need some game time and ought to be keen, and a proper cup tie hopefully. Looking forward to it!

AND CAN WE PLEASE ALWAYS KICK TOWARDS THE NORTHAM SECOND HALF? (I llike seeing all the goals at our end as my eyesight is failing....)
-
Still just a big time Charlie imo. I cannot get out of my head the image of him running into Loftus Road and then stealing the limelight when we got promoted. On top of that he was useless against Arsenal.

The only 'ransom strip' in the area is a small strip of land owned by Sellar Properties (the Landlord of the B&Q opposite) which controls access off the roundabout to the car park (Miland) next to the western stand of the Stadium. The Miland land could easily be redeveloped in isolation from the Stadium.

Kompany's duck was the eqiuvalent of Danny Fox's cushioned headed lay back for Nasri.
