  1. I sent an email thanking him for what he did for us and asking him to tell us why he was exited. I am not expecting an answer. I feel sorry for the new presenter on the programme as he has to make up for the village idiot Kamara - he who was a poor player and even worse manager and sits there telling all of the Prem managers how they should run their sides and referees how to do their job without him knowing the rules of the game and was convicted for GBH on a footbal pitch. I am sorry Kamara was racially abused by his own Pompey supporters but it may have not been entirely race related but because he was also c**p. For those that do not know the story in 1988 when a Swindon player 'hard man' Kamara backed off a confontation with a player called Jim Melrose after Kamara had kicked him (Melrose is only half Kamara's size by the way) and while Melrose was celebrating his goal and his teams win at the end of the game Kamara ran the length of the pitch hit Melrose from behind and broke Melrose' cheekbone - hence the conviction for GBH. The story is in Kamara's book but no one bothered to buy it. It should be an interesting programme.
  2. Official statement for Bournemouth fans - most Saints fans have a soft spot for you and we welcome that you have not gone bust and are doing very well and we hope you keep your manager. We do not want to patronise you with any rivalry and our only advice is that you try and get rid of your motormouth idiot of a chairman or at least try and get him to pay his bills - both on behalf of the club and his other ventures - and yes I do some work in Bournemouth and Poole.
  3. Very pleased with this and he did very well for us last time. I think he got injured making a huge tackle in the Northam/ Kingsland corner. I thought he did very well when he was on TV in the Prem games I saw. I cannot understand why he cannot get in the Preston side but what do we care.
  4. Very pleased with the performance - getting better all the time and just need to put the chances away.
  5. Shock horror motormouth Mitchell banned from St Mary's Boardroom - oh its a story printed in the Bournemouth and Southampton Echo and we all know how accurate how they are. Mitchell is a knob anyway even in the unlikely event it was true.
  6. I could only listen on the radio due to work but we missed chances and gave away a soft penalty. Very disappointing and two points lost - as Nigel Adkins said after the game. We must beat Bournemouth on Saturday.
  7. I find it difficult to feel this is a local derby. They are going well and I hope they carry on but not at our expense - the only thing I dislike about them is their idiot charman whose jaw is not connected to his limited number of brain cells.
  8. Wow I enjoyed this thread. I played in 1970 and so did not see this game but I loved the headlines. However I was at the lock in at The Maybush after the darts match as we lived in Maybush Road and the pub was my Dad's local. I knew John McGrath as he was a client at the Accountants where I worked and Brian O'Neill was my favourite player at that time. I also had the real pleasure of playing with Dennis Hollywood a bit later for the Southampton Container side in the late 70s. Jimmy Gabriel and Hugh Fisher used to drink at the Bricklayers further down Wimpson Lane sometimes. You do wonder how we ever managed to win a game in those days but they were a good darts team. I think Shankly was miffed as his Liverpool hard men went awol that day. I met Tommy Smith at a dinner at St Marys a few years ago and I asked him which Southampton player had taken him out - McGrath or Hollywood and he told me to f off. Well I may have had a few drinkies at the time and so had he.
  9. I think some of the posts from the "delusional knobs" (quote from an earlier post) on here are quite funny. I miss StuRomseySaint and regret I never met him in the Tavern in Romsey I did have a brief look at the dark side or rather the dark Inside and found numpty canteen on there so I came back again
  10. It was a dreadful programme last night -even worse than normal. The presenter is Ok ish but our Pompey friend and his doughnut platitudes and that stupid ex BBC South woman whose football knowledge is equivalent to her shopping in Debenhams really get up my nose. :smug:i
  11. Sounded good on the radio although we missed a number of chances again - onward and upward
  12. We won't lose another game this season
  13. Good interview and stemmed the stuttering rumours surrounding Fonte.
  14. SISA and the Echo what a combination to fear. A bunch of deranged loonies and a rag of a newspaper who would not recognise a factual story if it kicked them in the proverbials. I think it is comical how can anyone get worked up about this let alone go to their summit meeting.
  15. I am turning the shed upside down trying to find my boots. More seriously it will be Lambert - he cannot continue screwing up for ever.
  16. I am not sniping at anybody - the thread asked me to vote. Both the Trust and SISA are irrelevant and always have been. If you stand up and pretend you are the 'messenger' for the fans there will only ever be one result and that is even if you take a moderate and considered stance. The Trust and SISA are not renowned for that hence the ridicule.
  17. I am glad he got a good reception and equally glad he does not still play for us. However we seem to have found a right back who is nearly as slow as James is.
  18. I was encouraged by the better second half after a dire first one. The simple fact is that we mullered Colchester (without scoring) and with performances by a number of players that were woeful. I am encouraged by the subs that came on. i have gone from to
  19. I would not argue with too many of these gripes but you cannot blame Cortese for the fact that we cannot hit a barn door shooting, can trap a bag of cement ball control, and conceding stupid goals.
  20. I could only listen to the game on Solent with our happy clappy commentators. I am not yet at the slitting of wrists time in terms of automatic promotion as the sides favouruite to go up excluding us are not as strong as last year. But we must put an end to this rin of 'cannot hit a barn door' and conceding silly goals run of games - like Saturday. I too cannot understand how so many players were great last year and parks standard this year.
  21. I have to say I am totally underwhelmed and I do not think he has as good credentials as other alleged applicants. However I will give him my support and wish him well for all our sakes.
  22. He will be judged on this seasons results what else.
  23. I was working off the list on this web site regarding the likely applicants - ignoring the more unlikely ones. Where else would I obtain the information from. While I have an obvious bias towards one alleged applicant I have no dislike of any of the others but I feel Adkins does not have a track trecord as some of the others including the candidate you have ruled out as unsuitable because of his tan it appears.
  24. All of theses points are well made and absolutely spot on but the basic problems are that our final balls into the box are very poor and we keep conceding some poor goals (and some good ones). I do not know what our conversion rate of chances to goals is - and it was not good last season - but it must be woeful.
  25. Just don't tell me that Bournemouth - who have nothing and no one except a loud mouth chairman - are thrird in the table tonight - oh they are third in the table tonight.
