Personally I think all the goals bar the sixth was steks fault. How can a goalie be beaten from those angles and distance 5 times from 5 shots? The second went under him, it wasn't a great finish or shot. Anyone giving him more than 1 for that performance must be part of his family.

French national anthem to be played before Saturday's game
Saint-Fred replied to simo's topic in The Saints
It replaces the minutes silence which would have happened anyway. It allows people to reflect on what happened And how fortunate they are, it is a show of respect and feeling towards those having their very way of life threatened. It is also a show of defiance . A small thing like this may not be your cup of tea but to some it will be meaningful, you can't please everyone! But hey that's the freedom that needs protecting from these nutters! -

The difference in the Paris attack is that it's an attack on the western lifestyle, our lifestyle, so it is entirely appropriate to demonstrate that we stand with them. -

To test your phrase just put the phrase up with no name and see if people can guess who you are talking about?

Play the strongest fit team and worry about the next game when it comes.

Yes the point is you hadn't fitted the car seat correctly hence not being held in place. I hope the authorities are reading this confession and taking action?

Perhaps that bar steward corporate lot at Royal Mail lost your letter in a conspiracy of biblical proportions. Perhaps you should also you should send them a strongly worded rant on some Royal Mail forum? Sorry about your Dad though I wish him all the best.

Pardew was sacked for his results at Charlton..didn't he take them down and then failed to impress in the championship? He was also at West Ham due to results after a good start he struggled and looked like taking them down? I was not referring to either at Saints but neither left due to their choice. (However we hadn't started the seasons well under either when they were sacked..I am sure Adkins fate was decided prior to our revival under him just before he got sacked) both also had significant funds especially Pardew so not sure why you think they worked on a shoestring? Check our accounts during those years. My point isn't about them anyway they did well for us and Adkins is still one of my favourite blokes in football ever! However they both support what I am trying to say which is why wouldn't someone leave to try themselves at a better level when they are going to be sacked at some point anyway? If Pardew had been offered Spurs he would also have left don't have any doubt about that! Pardew is on a big wedge at Palace and wouldn't be there otherwise. Of course theres more prestige to sit on Man Utds bench than play every game for us...check out how many fans follow our players to theirs on social media. Check out who is first on MOTD every week, check out who the papers write about 90% of the time and finally The last bit of evidence ...why do players always go to those clubs if it isn't? Why can't we stop them? Theo and Alex O-C aren't regulars at Arsenal but they wouldn't come back to us whilst they have a role to play there would they?

Crikey how many times has Pardew been sacked? West Ham, Charlton, Saints from memory? Adkins has been sacked at Saints and Reading? Not top jobs paying loads of money so are we saying their ambition was too high and they should have stayed in league 1? As for the players I am sure the money and prestige more an makes up for the fact they dont play every week.Morgan seems happy enough sat on the United bench!

TBF clubs show very little loyalty so why should managers or players? Where is Liverpools loyalty to Brendan? Would he have still been at Swansea had he stayed or would he have been sacked by now anyway? If Kane saved Mopo in his first season what does that say about Spurs, football in general and the instance success society demands. Why then would he be worried about moving from Spurs to a bigger club for more money if offered as he is only 10 poor games from the sack? Why not take the pay rise whilst you can..it's not like a manager is likely to be at either club in three years anyway? But at least he was paid more whilst he was in a job. I don't think taking a poor team is any safer either look at Tim at Villa or the crying Dutchman at Sunderland having a crap team hasn't helped them? Players are the same..yes lallana etc left for bigger things but did we also not move on players we deemed not good enough? Harding, Fox, Deano, Reeves etc.. All ended up at lesser teams when Saints decided they weren't good enough. Who is to say that Adam could have stayed and found himself benchwarming until he was sold to West Brom/Forest/Brighton etc when we decided he wasn't good enough anymore or didn't fit in the system the new manager played? Perhaps a lack of ambition is also the key to failure? I could easily spend 100k a week...I would however probably have be dead within 6 months though.

Steven Davis: 'Southampton squad best since I joined'
Saint-Fred replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
Who is Davies? If you are talking about Davis check out the stats for most chances created this season first! -
Well we know so he about lining up his successor and employing him 12 months prior to RK leaving for a seemless change over? it would also stop the "managers leaving at the end of the season" performance dip, as the new one is on the bench or in the stands. The new manager would then have at least or possibly 3 transfer windows to influence purchases for his team. I know egos are big at the level and someone who will sit in the background may be not the person you want however imagine if it had been this year and we could have employed Klopp in that role? He gets his break but still a hand on the tiller of his next job. I know Klopp isn't coming here but it's just an example! Now no big managerial names are likely to do this but are we likely to Get them anyway? but surely for someone stepping up (Howe) or a big name newish to managing (Xavier....lol) it's a route to a premier league job with a learning curve both to the club and the league which they don't usually get?

I always assumed Guan was on about someone like Witsel?

Lol ok the starts been really disappointing and the performance worse than that but actually we have played what 7 games and lost 2? If we are considering booing now then god knows what these people would have been doing back in the days of 7-1 defeats and being in the bottom three for the majority of the season. Suddenly we think we are man Utd with a god given right to win every game and that every player in the world wants to play for us. Do you know who we actually are? As a comparison think of the Italian league then name the teams you know well. Then think of one that you know the name of the team but couldn't name more than a player or two. You know the ones who if we wanted a player from we'd think he be dying to come here as it's a step up. Well that's what we are to the rest of the world. A team who they know exist but are of no real relevance and interest, who if a bigger club come calling then our player would be dying to make the step up. Some people need to get some reality and support the team come what may. There's only one person to look at here and that's RK either we support him or we want him to leave. Look at bournemouth that team has cost nothing like ours has so it's not about money it's about using our resources at our disposal to the max. Personally I have faith he will turn it round. I want RK in charge and am prepared to accept we won't win every game, I may not be happy but I will never boo. It's easy to support when things go well, supporting when it's not going so well is harder and if we are in this together we need to get behind the team, not on their backs. IMO.

(Fantasy) You have been given £30 Million to strengthen Who you you sign?
Saint-Fred replied to ally_uk's topic in The Saints
I'd offer all of it for Eriksen and if spurs turn it down at least their favourite journo could write an article on how he was now costing them 400000 pounds per week for the rest of his contract. -
BBC a bit confused, but given the transfers between the two it's understandable I suppose? Analysis Arsenal v Southampton (20:00 BST) Posted at 19:34 What worries me about Arsenal is Francis Coquelin. What a gamble to put all that pressure on that young man's shoulders as he now the main defensive-minded midfielder at the club. Daily Mirror journalist John Cross on BBC Radio 5 live

No wonder spurs are a selling club with this mentality. "Yes Mr Levy now RM have bid for him to Keep Mr Bale will cost us 89 million pounds over the next four years." "What I physically have to pay 89 million to keep him and his wages?" "Well no you just pay his wages and the 89 million does not really exist but still it's a lot of money" "Your right I can't afford to not pay 89 million over the next four years we better sell him and buy soldado." "You know it makes sense as no one will offer us anything for soldado so he won't be costing us any imaginary pounds over the period of his contract"

I think we had shearer for less than 4 seasons and by the time he was Mane's age he had been sold. We are kidding ourselves if we think RK is staying for the next 20 years. Current strategy IMO is the only way we can attempt to grow the club enough to be able to compete at this level. Until the club is grown enough we just can't compete on wages and so will always lose our stars. Unless KL is prepared to invest something like the 1 billion that has been invested at Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd and even Liverpool who excluding wages are well on their way to half a billion since Brenda has been in charge.

We are in the European super league already. It just happens to be played in England. The money is here and other leagues can't stop the drain of their players as they can't compete on wages. There are a few super powers out there (either through global appeal RM,Barcelona etc through domestic domination bayern juve and through external funding PSG etc But the highest turnover teams in the world is being dominated by English clubs now. We can't compete with the top 6 directly as we will always lose players to them. However getting them to fund our club to the tune of 100s of millions in transfer fees could be a good model but we need to continue to invest in decent quality players from the other leagues and get a couple of seasons from them before selling them on at a big profit.....It works for Atletico. Having that money coming in will ensure we grow, can have a bigger squad and are more successful (long term) than teams like palace Leicester and Stoke maybe even newcastle but finishing higher than last year ever year just isn't possible. The money will give us stability within the league like Everton, Spurs etc who are never really in danger go going down..they may flirt down there a little from time to time but it's not really going to happen and that's what we need to be aiming at. IMO we haven't got a bad business model which will grow the club. We could really do with a cup final or two though to raise our profile!
