  1. I did wonder what The9's stance was on the Giroud sending-off on Saturday. To me, that was a slightly less bad tackle, as he seemed to me to get a lot more of the ball than McManaman v Newcastle, but again I thought it was a red card, as the follow-through was potentially career-ending for the opponent.
  2. Halsey didn't see it, one of the other players was in the way. If he had, he would have sent him off.
  3. I would not advise arguing with The9 about the McManaman tackle against Newcastle. I have argued with him about it for quite a long time, he is fairly entrenched in his view on this.
  4. Some really physical tall Argie centre-half. I daresay Pochettino would know one or two.
  5. Totally agree with all of this. Couldn't believe he said that in his interview, really showed to all his total incompetence as a manager.
  6. That guy on the panel on Question Time on Thursday night. Mark Littlewood. Was wearing a Saints tie. Was very right-wing in his outlook.
  7. Think the responses on this thread may have been rather different after the QPR game. Almost proves that you are only as good as your last game. I am still not convinced that Pochettino's pressing game will be a long-term success; if even the likes of the tactically brainless Redknapp can outfox him, it makes you wonder how many others will suss it out.
  8. Claire Perry is intensely unlikeable.
  9. He'll need to do an awful lot in the next month or two, then. He has looked massively overpriced so far.
  10. He was superb tonight. You can tell he really researches the sides. In a completely different league to the idiots on Match of the Day.
  11. I think WengerKnowsBest is better. Though The Big Sam is admittedly good.
  12. How very unperceptive. If he's such an excellent choice, why didn't he take a crash course in English as soon as he knew he was getting the job?
  13. Just seen on SSN that they're up to 14th in La Liga after a win tonight. So maybe they weren't previously the no-hopers that people are saying due to being forced to sell players etc.........
  14. Yup. Agreed. Nice one, Scott.
  15. I'd be highly doubtful that we'll be signing Forren.
  16. If Coutinho signs for Saints, I will eat my garage.
  17. The chant was "Duh-luh-luh-luh-luh....... SUBSTITUTION!!!!!!!!!". Aided by the rolling hands action. By an absolute mile, the highlight of the night.
  18. I liked him, even though Redknapp signed him. It was a shame he didn't play as often as he could have, otherwise the often well-refreshed Burley might have taken us up.
  19. Maybe. But hardly any teams in the Prem are strong defensively nowadays.
  20. As I've just said on the Ugly site, it all depends on how many more injuries we get, as the squad is so wafer-thin. I fear we will be goners if Lambert gets a serious injury, I simply don't think we'd get the wins we need if we were without him.
  21. Heck no. Chris Marsden Football Genius, however........
  22. Stepping stone and all that....... As he admitted himself, he's mainly here for the money. If we go down, he goes. If we just about stay up, he won't be up for another year of struggle near the bottom of the League. Cortese probably told him we'd be in the top six this season.
  23. Given that the chances of Ramirez still being a Saints player next season are practically zero, I'd be inclined to suggest we should be more concerned about maximising our use of Lambert. I would happily sell Ramirez tomorrow if anybody offered us £12 million.
  24. He's a brilliant keeper. Definitely one of Wigan's main reasons for potentially staying up. Really rate him. Wigan would want top wedge for him.
