The effort that club puts into doing the extended multi-angle edit with Solent commentary should be commended. For me this makes it an essential purchase. It really shows how good it is when compared to the 1 minute / 1 angle effort we get from the away games.

Think we have three there. Always seems a little inefficient to have the three when there only ever seems to be a maxium of two manned, normally only one and a massive queue for the printing on match days.

Revenue streams at St Mary's for 2011/12 season...
Mozz replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Can understand the segregation netting being more costly. Give that there is likely to be more away fans for each game than in League 1 the netting will probably be in block 43 which means a prominant placement for every highlight of an attack at the Northam. -
Revenue streams at St Mary's for 2011/12 season...

I know revenue shouldn't be shunned but a few of those are depressingly tacky, particularly: Big screen substitution sponsorship: Your advert will be shown every time there is a substitution as well as the PA announcing your sponsorship with every substitution. £10,000 per season + VAT Company name on segregation netting £10,000 per season + VAT Exterior wall posters £10,000 per season + VAT -
One thing that did spring to mind (although incredibly unlikely) is some sort of reversible home shirt with a black and red effort underneath. The black and red "stars in stripes" advert has really got me scratching my head as if the chosen colours of the adverts have significance then it presents a different two colour scheme to the red/white & white/red adverts. The thought of a black/red away shirt comes to mind but would seem to be removed by the black/red advert specifically referring to the "home kit" (and having just had a black kit). Whilst a reversible wouldn't be keeping with anything Umbro are doing it does tick the "inovative design elements" box. Rickie's comment of "This will definately appeal to all fans" could also (at a stretch) hint at this. Perhaps a different pattern (stripes and sash?) inside and out to satisfy everyone?

With the black/red advert/teaser on the OS and the extra prominance given to black on the match ball I can't help but feel there's going to be a lot of black involved somewhere in the home kit.

I think this decision is in danger of forgetting that as well as being a sport football is entertainment that needs to sell tickets to games. To me the multi-ball system certainly makes matches more entertaining as less time is spent staring at a motionless pitch waiting for the ball to slowly come back from the crowd. Rather than remove the system entirely maybe regulation, policing and disciplining of those abusing the system would have been more beneficial for the game.

That's rubbish. Found it really noticeable how much more playing time was lost lasy year in the home FA Cup games where it wasn't used.
-
I believe that's correct. For all the PL games there is a live edit going on whereas in the FL for anything that's not televised live or is the featured game for The Football League Show it's just one camera recording the footage.

Also (for the sake of clarity) there was no direct debit involved in the 09/10 scheme, rather payment card (debit or credit) details were saved at the point of initial payment and reused for the remaining installments. As such it wouldn't have been a straight forward 'cancel the direct debit' and would more likely be people cancelling a card entirely or the card expiring and the customer failing to notify the club of an alternative payment method (which could have been avoided by a check at point of sale).

Hmmm, I must have got lucky. Just watching the Adkins video.

This tweeted last night by someone who works at the club on the website side of things: "Typical of the website providers to fail on the most important day of the season. reaction is ready but the site is not *sigh*"

Whilst I do think the news is likely to be ST related, worth pointing out that the season ticket page on the OS has been missing for at least two weeks. Tried to access it to find out last years prices a couple of weeks ago and it was gone then.

Lets not forget that he did a good job stepping in for Morgan in our JPT Final starting line up.

Season ticket holders loyalty and the ticket office.
Mozz replied to Tractor_Saint's topic in The Saints
Just phoned. I'm an ST holder and have already bought a ticket for myself. Phoned for an additional and was told that this would still have to be bought with a Carlisle ticket and the operator admitted that the process was "confusing". This seems to contradict the details on Twitter yesterday and experiences of people above. -
There's a new story on this site that seems to be saying a fee has been agreed but we're waiting on clearance/work permit as he's non-eu. Would think possibly some form of dual-citizenship as can't see him getting a work permit otherwise.

Mine seems to have gone AWOL in the post as well. E-mailed TO who advised can go to the stadium to collect a duplicate but they won't post another one.
-
It depends, mine was set up on my debit card so presumably if the payment had failed it would only be the club who would be aware of it as their new, stand-alone transaction would not go through, unlike with a direct debit or standing order where the bank will write to the account holder and levy a charge.
-
That makes sense. Be curious to know how many payments failed and what effect the system had on ticket office staff/resources as from a customer perspective it made everything very straight forward.
-
There was no finance company involved last season. The first payment was taken by card at the ticket office and card details saved. At the beginning of each subsequent month a new transaction was put through on the same card by the ticket office.
-
Was this ever given as a reason? Recall that on the Solent/NC interview from before the Leeds game it was put down to the extra staffing required at the call centre etc.
-
Roughly an extra £70 on an adult behind the goal for missing the cheaper renewal price is a significant chunk (over 20%) and means people losing their current seat.
-
It's the clubs decision if they don't want to offer a payment plan, but to announce the fact as tickets go on sale with plans being offered on previous seasons isn't exactly the best way to communicate the fact. I should be able to scrape the cash together but others won't be able to. Hadn't done any prior "financial planning" as was expecting to pay June/July-November as last year.
