Im not sure where this myth has come from that Jack Stephens is good on the ball. He’s dreadful on the ball, and constantly gives the ball away. He’s just not good enough for the premier league
-
Absolutely ridiculous that we're even in any kind of danger. Given we had 29 points at the start of January, we should already be safe. But if anyone can make a mess of this position then it's us. I still think it's incredibly unlikely we'll go down, but the pressure is now on and confidence is very low. We play Sheff Utd and WBA away, and play Brighton, Burnley, Fulham, and Palace at home. Would be bonkers if we didn't manage to get 7/8 points from that lot. But given we couldn't score against a 9 man Newcastle, anything can happen with us.

From memory, Think we started with Davis JWP and Reed as the middle 3, Reeds debut and he was sensational. Was also a few other kids on the pitch at the end, one who was really small
-
Definitely an odd team, as they do a lot of things right, but just don't have the firepower to get them ahead when they're dominant...(remind you of anyone?) We've all seen over the last few years, how we've struggled to break teams down, we have a load of the ball then get suckerpunched with a late goal.

High value, might be able to get £30-40M for him, highest his stock has been since he's been at the club, and if he's not going to sign a new contract, it's probably a good time to move him on. We also have Bednarek / Salisu who could form a partnership for years to come. I'm not saying it's what I want us to do, but It wouldn't surprise me, given the lack of saleable assets in the squad, and the fact we have an owner that has no money.
-
My gut feeling is, they'll all play a part this season, and then Vestergaard will probably be sold in the summer. Had a great season this year, and his contract expires summer '23. Bednarek & Salisu the future first choice pairing, until in a few seasons we sell Salisu and bring in someone else. Stephens still playing the odd game when we get injuries, comes in, has a couple of good games, and then makes howler after howler as per his whole career.

Anyone starting to look nervously at the table?

Who knows what happens once we're factually safe, (if), sometimes teams are on the beach (2 seasons ago), and sometimes they're motivated to achieve more (last season). But hopefully we can get a few wins soon, and then focus on moving up the table. -
And thats why it makes complete sense to loan them out, because even a terrible Stephens, or an out of position Bednarek or Diallo, would do a better job than Valery, same for Vokins on the other side. I think it was the right decision to loan them both out, the club just f*cked up by not bringing in a replacement full back.

Only because we were losing. And to keep more attacking players on the pitch. We will absolutely be 4222 on Saturday. As we should be.
-
Not sure that's true at all. He was one of the few to step up a few seasons ago, and he was by far our best performing player, when others are massively underperforming. I think he struggles with confidence when people get on his back. He's gone from one of the first on the teamsheet, to a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Let's not forget he won the players player, and fans player of the season in the 18/19 season.
-
Would be daft given they have never been linked with buying the club.

Not sure whether it's more to do with the fact Adams needs a rest, or just isn't scoring, so trying something else, but personally I thought Adams wasn't playing badly. I like Redmond's energy, and the fact he wants to get in behind, but we have Ings that can do that, and we are missing Adams hold up play IMO. I want to see Adams back in the starting line up this weekend
-
Will be Stephens or Bednarek in a back 4 IMO until Diallo is back. I don’t see us playing 3 at the back, as it just doesn’t work with the tactics we want to play. We only did it Sat because we wanted to be more attacking cos we were losing.
-
So, minimum 4-6 weeks I’d think if its Hamstring...need to find a way of playing without him, as when he doesn’t play, we lose a dimension of the way we play.

Still don’t think we are involved, but certainly nowhere near as comfortable as I was a few months ago. Realistically, we probably need 5/6 points from the remaining 15 odd games. If we fail with that, that would be appalling and Ralph won’t be in a job. -
He’s clearly not garbage is he. He was one of our most important players a few seasons ago. He’s just been out for quite a long time, and will always take players a few games to settle back in. Ive got no problem with him being given another chance today. He was decent if not spectacular on Thursday night.

Actually, probably Vestergaard and Macca in
-
Vestergaard in for Salisu and Adams in for Redmond or Djenepo would be my guess. Or Minimino in
-
Yoshi, Gaston , Gabbiadini
-
We must have a good relationship with Sampdoria
-
Forster; KWP Vestergaard Salisu Bertrand; JWP Romeu; Armstrong Adams Ings Minamino. Lovely to have some options for the bench too...Macca Bednarek Stephens Tella Djenepo Redmond NLundulu

Just got my email, carrying to next season.

Feels like the strongest last 8 there has been for years. Going to be a very tough trophy to win.

Few reports today saying Celtic are looking to make the move permanent, in a £5m deal. I'd take that and move on. Another transfer mistake we need shot of. He'll be 3 years into a 5 years contract this summer, so "book value" from an accounting perspective would be about £6m, if we can get that I think the club should take it and remove his stupid wages off the books. Never going to make it here. Possesses none of the skills needed to become a regular in the premier league.
