I don't find it bizarre at all. He's a right back playing right back. If you put him out of position, it's just the same as playing KWP out of position. Perhaps he thinks he's better from RB rather than a "10". Also, KWP has played LB quite a lot in his career. I understand why fans would like to see him further forward, but I don't see it a problem that he isn't, and certainly don't find it bizarre.
-
They’re cheap squad options. Nothing more nothing less. We needed to add a bit of depth, given without him we’d have only had Redmond Elyounoussi Djenepo and Armstrong who can play as “10’s”. We don’t have a spare £30m to spend on a wide player. If he’d cost us £4m plus £37k a week, no one would be complaining
-
Tella probably, then Djenepo. Didnt Tella play wide left yesterday?
-
Confirmed to be on Tuesday 26th October. Bit annoying as I was meant to be working on London on the Wednesday! Would be great to get a sea of red and white given it’s the cup game. Might depends on how many we lose by this weekend….! Club hasn’t released ticket details yet.

Free hit. Keep it respectable and move on.

I'd partly agree with you, that his "xG" is low, but what those stats dont take into account, is where he's shooting from stupid places, shooting when he should pass, etc. He's wasteful in the specific part of the play because he makes wrong decisions, but hopefully he can improve on that. I'm absolutely not writing him off, I just find him a bit frustrating. Hasn't done anywhere near enough in general play so far for me, and we'll always measure him against Ings who is far better than him. All in my opinion of course.
-
But Ings also had way more impact to others, he has creativity that Armstrong doesn't have.
-
Armstrong is a huge step down from Ings, the only benefit of having Armstrong over Ings, is that Armstrong will probably be available for most games. But comparing talent, Armstrong is nowhere near. And like what's been mentioned previously, Ings dug us out of many holes because he was incredibly clinical. Armstrong seems to need about 50 shots to score 1 goal.

We have no money... At the start of the window I'd have said, no chance would I take Minamino back, but given we lost him and didn't actually sign anyone, I'd have taken him back on loan for the season, despite him being poor. It's going to be a long season when we have to rely on Walcott, Moussa, Redmond, Elyounoussi to create enough chances for Armstrong to waste half of them.
-
But isn't this the point....despite those stats, he's still one of the best we have...Redmond, Walcott, Elyounoussi, Djenepo...I'm not sure any of them are good enough to be starters in the premier league.
-
Agree some of his dead balls have been un-defendable, but when we have no-one in the side that can win headers, that's also a problem in itself. There is no point crossing the ball in to Elyounoussi, Redmond, Adams and Armstrong. The only player we had on the pitch that could head the ball yesterday was Bednarek, which is where pretty much all of JWP's set pieces went yesterday. We are so so blunt.
-
I think when we get a fully fit squad, Stuart Armstrong on the right, and Tella or Djenepo on the left would be my preference...thought Moussa did more in 10 mins yesterday than Redmond and Elyounoussi did all game.
-
Works quite hard but that’s about it. No pace, no trickery, no goal threat, no power, no aerial ability….he’s nowhere near good enough IMO
-
Yup. We really bloody miss him. Sooner he’s back the better.
-
He’s been really poor, but not sure whether that’s because he is really poor, or whether it’s the complete lack of threat and creativity behind him. Looks completely lost in the premier league so far.
-
He's got a way to go for sure. Wasn't at the game, but sounded like a bit of a shocker. Hopefully in our "best side" he'll be a bit more comfortable
-
If we had more of a goal threat I'd be expecting to win, but wouldn't surprise me if this is 0-0 until the hour, then anything could happen. An early goal would make a big difference IMO. Macca; Tino Bednarek Salisu KWP; Romeu JWP; Elyounoussi Adams Armstrong Tella Players in bold are the only ones up for negotiation really. Perraud, Redmond and Djenepo the obvious candidates. I'd like to see Tella given a chance though.

Well that's absolutely shite. Why? -
Whilst there are still humans making decisions, VAR is questionable at best.
-
Think JWP, Romeu and Armstrong are dead certs to play if fit, and 2 of Adams, Broja and Amrstrong. Leaves one spot for Walcott, Djenepo, Elyounoussi, Redmond and Tella. I'd like to see Tella given that chance tbh, though he won't give us much protection going the other way, which I guess is why Moussa and Redmond are currently being favoured. All hypothetical now though until Armstrong is fit.

Always is somewhere, doubt it's on UK TV though. Should be a stream for it. -
I just assume it's actually an intern writing those articles, or they just look at who got the most fantasy football points....
