The critical question for the club is : "do you only want to make money or would we like to provide a reasonable deal for the supporters" ? The answer is undoubtedly the former, but for me, a two year cycle with only home+away kits (the 3rd kit is a nonsense anyway) would be ideal ! The big unknown (to me at least!) is the kit manufacturer's contribution but I do feel that the whole system throughout all leagues has been driven by the greedy top 6 and Man U in particular 🥲 ! In order to rip off the gullible fans they produce three new kits every season ! Because of this, they basically have to change the designs otherwise people would perhaps stick with an old one if it was too similar ! There are certain criteria which are essential (ie. colours - red/white/black, PL badge, sponsors name) but beyond that there are limited possibilities for designers to play around with ! They always come up with something and supporters air their views for better or worse but often 50/50 as it is totally subjective and very much a matter of personal taste ! The club will add an element of bullshit to sell as many as possible (this year it is "bravery') but essentially it's just a marketing excercise to make money and nothing else !

Seems ok for me, renewed weeks ago, got a confirmation, money off credit card, no further issues !

After tax he will earn less than £200k per year, take off his living expenses and invest say £150k which today for a best rate cash deposit would give you just over 6k in the 3 year period ! Of course he could invest in different ways but the stock market is extremely volatile and property is already at a high level ! IMO this is not 'life changing' ! Best he stays with us but he probably won't 😔

I think a lot of people who have mentioned experience, equate it with either age or number of PL appearances ! For me, what we need (particularly in central defence) is 'character' - a big personality who can muster the troops, instil a 'siege mentality' and bring the young lads along with him, even when the chips are down ! Wes Morgan was never the greatest footballer but he captained Leicester to an extraordinary PL title and played a huge part in their success ! I don't know enough to suggest names at this stage but am pretty sure that there is someone out there who could fulfil this role for us and hopefully the powers that be consider this a priority also !!

A goal and an assist against a dire Scotland team (on the day at least!) does not all of a sudden make him a world-beater ! Funny how nobody has sung his praises whilst playing for Swansea in the 2nd div this season !

Spot on.... It is impossible for us to know the inner workings of the whole set up ! The new directors have a good track record in this area and we have to trust that they'll get it right rather than incessantly complain for the sake of it !

There seems to be a general consensus on here (unusual I know..) about what needs to be done this summer although much of it will have to be tempered by money and contract restraints !! The question has been asked "If we can see it, why can't they" ? Given that the new owners/directors are pretty clever guys with a good track record (Brentford, Midtjylland !) my guess is that they do ! Difficult to be too optimistic after the tail end of this season but maybe (just maybe !) there is light at the end of the tunnel 😀

Agree with all of that, I said to the guy next to me last night that one of the main differences between the two teams was the goalie ! Allison consistently found his own man whereas McCarthy didn’t ! PL class is normally defined by control, touch, pass, move and vision. That’s why the top teams are in a league of their own.. Sadly it’s not gonna change for us unless we can exchange the likes of Romeu for DeBruyne 😩

I personally thought he could have done better with both Palace goals and some of his kicking today was appalling ! He seems to be on his bike which is no disaster but means that we need a top class new keeper with McCarthy purely as back up !!
