I am very surprised (and disappointed) to hear of this mainly because in the past I have only heard that he is a great ambassador for the game ! He is always first up for hospital visits etc. and appears to be extremely approachable, articulate and pleasant ! I have friends from Reading who hold him in very high esteem because of his character and even in his short time here there have been very positive reports about his behaviour ! I hope that your perception of this incident was perhaps a misunderstanding !

Teamwise, that was also my low point ! Clubwise, I was always optimistic that we would find a buyer up until the Pinnacle bid collapsed and Fry said (for the 2nd month running) that the wages would either be paid late or not at all ! At that moment I genuinely felt there was a chance we could fold ! Comparing last year's strikers with now makes interesting reading ! McGoldrick, BWP, Rasiak and John have got about 3 goals between them whereas Lambert, Lallana & Waigo have got 19 already !! Different league, injuries etc.. all play a part but I can't help thinking that we are better off now than we were this time last season !!

Surely if the handicap system is working properly then MLT has a chance to score as well as the scratch golfers ??? The whole idea is to give everyone a fighting chance and play to their potential, no ? If Matt has played the course many times then he could well have a decent round, apply the handicap and be up there with the top scorers !!! Of course, if handicaps are not involved in this competition, then my argument goes up in smoke !!

I'm sure that the ball is firmly in his court as there can be no doubt that AP has informed him that he can go, either on loan or sale, come January. Clearly he is not prepared to take a drop in wages which means that he must be happier not playing than taking a cut ! Playing devil's advocate, I guess you could say that about many of the so called greats as well ? Clough, Ferguson, Mourhino etc.. all have had their moments of aggression, arrogance, favouritism and bullying to mention just a few little 'character flaws' !!

FWIW my OP was intended to compare a big spending volatile regime with our much calmer approach ! As a matter of strategy NC stated that he wanted to start the whole process with a clean slate therefore Wotte was released and a whole new backroom team was built ! The sacking of McParland would be the equivalent of us sacking Pardew today, which I personally think would be ridiculous ! However, if it makes you feel better, I did not consider this point when I made the original post but even now I don't actually think it is relevant in the comparison !

It is by no means perfect but like so many websites it becomes much easier the more you use it and find your way around ! One added plus is that when you (occasionally) look at other FL clubs sites they become easier to use as well ! I did prefer the previous version but it became so tainted with Rupertesque propaganda that in a way I'm glad to see the back of it !!

Claiming to be 'religious' does not in any way determine someone's right to be considered a good person ! For example, there are some obscenely rich Arabs who seem happy to have a huge army of underclass workers building their apartment blocks, hotels and temples. In these situations 'mans inhumanity to man' is very apparent, but they still claim to be Godly people ! IMO religion, business and sport are totally separate entities and should stay that way !!

That was his 3rd league game after being here for only a few weeks ! It just goes to prove that patience is needed for rebuilding and we still have a helluva long way to go! As expectations rise so will the criticism after the inevitable future draws and defeats ! There are many blips ahead of us, but at least the captain now has control of the ship ! COYS.

There will be many more pitfalls on a rocky road ahead ! A couple of defeats and the usual calls of ' sack the manager ' will resurface ( idiotic I know, but you can rely on it !) ! One step at a time is the only rational way to look at it, having said that, we are surely progressing according to plan at the moment !!
