Right now our squad is lacking pace and a natural goalscorer ! Right now we are in serious danger of going down ! Walcott = pace ! Sturridge = goals ! Sure there is a big risk in terms of fitness but do we prefer to stick with the longer term policy of signing younger, inexperienced players with potential sell-on value or do we take a gamble ?? For me, it's a 'no-brainer'. Get the two of them in (on loan if possible) sharpish and watch their quality light up SMS ! Time to roll the dice IMHO !

The fear of losing money is more likely to lead to bad decision making rather than good ! The chances of Swansea or WBA staying up, having changed manager is no better than Huddersfield or Bournemouth who probably won’t ! Last year Hull and Sunderland changed and both went down. The year before all 3 relegated teams, Villa, Norwich & Newcastle did the same ! Best recent example of stability is Burnley who even stuck with their boss after relegation! The only guarantee is that 3 teams will go down and more than likely some of them will have rolled the dice ! Clearly it is not an exact science but as I said before, there is no evidence that knee jerk reactions are of any benefit!

The football world has gone crazy, every team at the lower end panics, then changes - Swansea = 6 managers in 2 years and they are now worse than they were before ! There is very little evidence that constant sacking is better than stability and it is certainly much more costly ! Fans are now so negative that managers are given only a few matches before their status is questioned ! One guarantee is that 3 teams will go down this year and in all probability they will have suffered from managerial disruption ! The grass is always greener, eh ?

The fact is that we have excellent facilities and are well set up to produce stars of the future, however it is not an exact science and inevitably you will have good periods and less good periods ! Our track record suggests that although there is nobody ready at this moment for a PL baptism, it will come again sometime soon ! Keep the faith, the grassroots are sprouting, just not right now !!

Booing and leaving early is definitely not a good way to show support and personally I find it embarrassing in the extreme ! Claude will enjoy his day in the sun until he loses Mahrez and/or Vardy or even just a few games on the trot . After that he will become a statistic just like Ranieri ! Just thinking about it, I wondered what first name an Mx would adopt ? Peter, Dave, Mark and John tend to imply male ! Susan, Mary, Nancy and Sheila tend to imply female ! Do they have to use Sam/Samantha, Leslie/Lesley etc.. cos otherwise people will assume that they are either male or female anyway and the whole pronoun thing is out of the window !

Somebody told me on Saturday that he asked Boufal (he came very close to the touchline at Brighton) why he was out wide rather than through the middle - his answer was "ask the manager" ! I'm pretty sure that Pellegrino determines, game plan, tactics and subs and it was clear to me that v Burnley this is where we fell down ! In general play Burnley are no better than us but they define the characteristics of the manager (team spirit, hard work, discipline etc..) Perhaps we also play in the image of our man which is a bit dull and uninspiring !
