My son-in-law is a Man Utd fan and he has always been convinced that the media hate them and not just last season when they were turd ! I believe the exact opposite, to the extent that even referees favour them, not just the press, so the point above makes a lot of sense to me !!!

The comment from Sadoldgit (which I agreed with) was about non Saints people being complimentary about us ! If you want 'bedwetting' comments, then for sure Saintsweb is the place to find them
-
I have had the same reactions too, just can't understand where this 'laughing stock' comment is coming from !!
-
Were you looking in the mirror at the time ??

Does anyone else note the irony that the BBC also reported this news last night on South Today ? I guess that if the Echo copied the Mail and the BBC copied the Echo, then the BBC are even more guilty than the local paper !! It seems to be the way of things these days, I think I'll just stick to Saintsweb for accurate information and intelligent comment :)

I suppose they read that FIFA will make £2.55 billion and thought that their measly £61 grand was a drop in the ocean

Don't renew their UK Football contracts then
eurosaint replied to Saint in Paradise's topic in The Lounge
I think that most people would just like to have some consistency from the football authorities ! England were forbidden to wear poppies on their shirts in Nov 2011 and yet nothing seems to have been done about this provocative banner ! Double standards I feel (from FIFA) but not surprised ! -
Perhaps I'm a bit blinkered but I've seen nothing to consider that Baines is ahead of Shaw at the moment, I thought that he was poor again yesterday and would actually drop him, then really go for it with Sterling and Barkley in as well as the OX (if or when he is fit !) Too often the 'big name' players stand in the way of the fresh youngsters because they have 'experience', unfortunately their 'experience' has been that of underperforming and ultimately losing !!

I thought that political statements were banned by FIFA, remember the outcry when we wanted to play with poppies on our shirts ?? Surely FIFA will take strong action to uphold their solid principles ?? (ps. don't hold your breath !) -
Back on in 10 mins !
-
TBF, they showed the overhead screen with a message that said supporters should vacate the bowl and remain in the concourse until further notice ! Obviously some of the punters have just ignored the warning !
-
The word on the street in Leicester is that their Thai owners are beginning to struggle because of the political unrest in their homeland at the moment, seems that they are big in the tourist industry and business has fallen flat on it's arse ! I guess that funds could be fairly sparse for them so hopefully they can't strengthen too much !!
-
In any other organisation the man at the top would have fallen on his sword already but FIFA are a law unto themselves ! As I said in #4 of this thread, they are rotten to the core !!

Great city, especially if you are young, pubs, clubs, restaurants and of course the festival activities ! Get yourself up there and do me a favour, assuming that you get a vote in the referendum, vote NO !

Will Saints ever be a "bigger fish in the sea"?
eurosaint replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Fair comment (from you not WOY!) I never thought of it that way but you're right, he has contradicted his earlier statement about transfer talk and done us a disservice at the same time !! -
I renewed a couple of weeks ago and would have done anyway, come what may ! Having said that, I already feel a bit cheated and if it carries on as predicted I will no doubt feel royally shafted ! The next few weeks are absolutely critical to the club and the fans, the custodians must take their responsibilities very seriously now, stand up and be counted, give us some hope and at least a trace of optimism ! My wife has just asked me (yet again!) why I bother ? This question is becoming more and more difficult to answer I'm afraid !

There is no way that we will get a 'like for like' replacement for £4mil ! Sadly that is not even the biggest problem, as it it the message that this sudden, pre world cup transfer sends out ! If we are prepared to sell our top scoring talisman then we will sell anyone, other clubs know this and so do our own players, that is the tragedy of it all ! Big deal that Rickie gets his dream move, I would have told them '£10mil or f#ck off' and most certainly not have sold him ahead of the world cup and before the new manager comes in !!
-
To be fair to Barton he did apologise for his 'ugly birds' remark, I think it's the first time anyone (including all the politicians!) has openly said sorry for anything on that programme !!
-
Just watched SSN and they are still reporting between 8 and 10 mil so I don't know where this 4 mil has come from ! Still refuse to believe it though, as he is currently with the England squad and (for sure) it would send out the worst possible signal of a firesale should it actually transpire ! (Have just seen the BBC article but surely 4m is derisory, even if true!)
-
And there was me worried about Pochettino leaving !!
-
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Hodgson say that agents would be banned from all England hotels/training grounds etc.. during the WC build up ?? As Rickie is there with the team surely he is not involved in any negotiations ?? If any of our players are leaving, my guess is that those on international duty will only happen when the WC is over. On that basis I reckon that this latest rumour is bollards !!
-
That's really strange, I bought 1 ticket, paid by MasterCard and was charged one pound only ! (I double checked just to be sure!)
-
It might be worthwhile to ask a retailer if they have any spares ! The reason I say this is because some people don't want them in the first place, I know of two friends who did this so it's a possibility and you'd have nothing to lose by asking ! HTH
-
Renewed today (never got around to it until now!) and found it to be a very smooth online transaction, pity that they charge a quid for the credit card transaction, it just seems unnecessary as it is such a tiny percentage of the total, just an irritant really !! COYS:)

Why do we always get the 'short straw' ? Katherina, eh ? Vincent Tan or Mike Ashley, then we 'd really be in the 'big league'
