I said 99% because there are sure to be younger fans there who haven't yet experienced that loss. I just feel like that kind of tribute is out of place in what is supposed to be a grand event and celebration. Agree with much of the sentiment above. RIP to the guy, it's a very sad story...but there is a time and a place for this sort of thing and I don't believe football is it. As someone has mentioned, this is a huge occasion for the club and i'm sure 99% of the fans attending will have someone they will be thinking about who they wish could be there...it's better to let them quietly think about that person in their own way. The biggest example of how this trend has gone so far that it now seems insincere is that every single team now wears black armbands in almost every game. I'm sure sometimes there isn't even anything to wear them for, they just wear them as part of the uniform now.
