We left on 20 minutes, and frankly the biggest message to the club would have been if everyone else had too. I've had a season ticket for years and been to watch us away in Europe 5 times but I'm not fussed about hanging around in the rain to watch us get an absolute hammering.
-
Left when the 3rd went in. Was home before the second half kicked off. Didn't watch any more, there was no need. It was obvious when the second went in that it would be a rout.

Front cover had Ings on his knees against Pompey. Back cover a similar picture of Mount. The match day programme equivalent of a half and half scarf. Our club is a mess. Positively encouraging the type of tourist fan we had today while doing nothing to try and sort out the dwindling atmosphere that makes St Mary's possibly the worst home ground in the league.

Always thought it was "we only drink whisky we never drink rum"

I've heard Woolston Ferry sung a fair few times over the years. Problem is that not enough people know all the words so it generally runs out of steam quite quickly. Like the fact it's unique to us. There's plenty of songs knocking about that other fans sing which have no relevance to football.
-
The Alex used to, not been in for a while though. The Angel?

If we want on old song with proper links to Southampton then the Bells of St Mary's could do the trick (it's not actually a Christmas song, just became associated with it because of this version)
-
I'll have to take your word for that as I rarely watch football on TV and can only really make judgements from what I experience first hand.

Is there a possibility the club could sell away tickets with certain blocks marked up as singing areas? At least that way those who want to get behind the team can all do it together rather than being spread out and diluting the noise?
-
Pretty bad support really. First half we were ok, but in the second when we should have been roaring the team on to grab an equaliser most stood in silence. Totally different demographic in our end compared to Tuesday. Too many people not joining in with songs. Seems like taking selfies for likes on social media is more important to some of our fans than getting behind the team. Thought the stadium was a bit soulless. Yes I'm aware of the irony because ours is dull, but they spent however many millions to make it and it really isn't particularly exciting at all apart from being quite big and having decent beer.

It wasn't towards him. Aimed at the state of some of the modern fans, the ones who bring iPads to games, hold up signs asking for shirts and complain about people standing up. Fortunately our end on Tuesday was largely devoid of them which meant the atmosphere was spot on. Nothing but praise from me for anyone who blagged their way in and gave everything to get behind the team.

Hope you complained to a steward. We can't have people standing where they want blocking others getting to their rightful seat. I spent most of my time asking people in front to sit down while pointing out the terms and conditions on the back of the ticket which state no standing is allowed in seated areas. As someone who paid hard earned money for my ticket I am disgusted that people got in for free. Disgraceful behaviour from our fans. Roll on the day when the whole away end is full of people sat down vlogging the match from a phone on a selfie stick.

Heard that too from someone too, but no idea if it happened. Bloke said it was about 20 lads and they didn't want them hanging around outside so just put them in the ground.
-
Totally correct about the noise. We were on it pretty much non stop. If they couldn't hear us that's more to do with them singing and there being 8 times more of us than them. I couldn't hear them when we were singing. It's pretty simple, if 2000 people are chanting around you, you ain't going to hear what's going on at the other end of the ground. Their lot had plenty of chance to get at our fans outside if they wanted to but chose to stand around shouting and throwing stuff instead.

Burton away please.

Reading scored a 99th minute equaliser.
-
No idea if there was filming but would be surprised if there wasn't. They all have body worn cameras anyway. I'm sure that footage will be uploaded and sifted through.
-
Some left when the 4th went in, but the majority stayed until the end and didn't stop singing. As much as I dislike them they did get behind their team even though they were getting a thrashing. Was a proper atmosphere last night, both sets of fans were giving it plenty.
-
Was an absolute breeze on the coach. From what I've seen and heard the walk from the station was somewhat interesting but there certainly wasn't any mass disorder to the point where police lost control. Some scuffles, Saints more than holding their own in the clashes that happened. Pompey fans cleared out after the game, those who hung around and refused to move away were dealt with robustly by the police. There's a lot the police get wrong in terms of football but last night's operation was pretty successful from what I can make out. They threw a lot of resources and planning into it and made it work out despite not having a bubble.
-
Kind of expected though. We'd be doing the same. Our players dealt with it well, Bertrand shook one of their fans hands near the start when he was getting a load of abuse. The rest just ignored it and got on with the job of smashing 4 goals past their sorry excuse for a team.
-
That was a bit good. Don't have much voice left. Feel absolutely shattered because I barely slept due to the adrenaline still pumping. The celebrations for the first goal were up there with Long at Anfield and Gabbiadini at Swansea. Couldn't care less that we're 2 leagues above them or that they were still singing at the end. Let their fans blabber on about that all they want. Still got stuffed in their own backyard.

Save Redmond for Tuesday, especially it Djenepo will still be out.
-
Might be the best thing for us. Read their fans comments and they all want Jackett out, players seem disinterested, no shape, no idea. If they'd lost he might have gone. Hopefully he stays because it's far easier to plan for a game when you have a good idea of how they'll play (badly I hope)

That first Watford goal was just hilarious.
