Just watched that goal again another 10 times. As far as I'm concerned the bloke literally doesn't have to do anything for Saints again because he's responsible for the best celebration I've been involved in.
-
Man of the Match today I thought. Won so many tackles and headers and seemingly appeared out of nowhere to make a vital block in the first half.
-
Hoedt drove off before the game apparently. Either his role for the team now involves nipping to the shop for the half time oranges, or he was in a strop and buggered off home.

I don't see anyone mocking Andy Oldknow.

Great moment. Everyone was singing his name. He applauded us then took off his cap and bowed. There's a hell of a lot of love for Ralph at the moment, and rightly so.
-
Another decent game, him and Long ram themselves into the ground. Good to hear the fans finally singing his name, there were a couple of songs going around yesterday, the version of Starman will probably stick. He's a Starman Playing on the right His name is Nathan Redmond And he's ****ing dynamite

Just back. What a defensive performance. Thought Bednarek, Vestergaard and Romeu were outstanding. Leicester very predictable and despite all the possession didn't cause many problems. One thing you can notice from the stands with a whole view of the pitch is just how disciplined the team are. They move together, stay in lines and make runs to back each other up. It's a far cry to the tactical mess we had under Hughes. Leicester were poor and very one dimensional. Was lovely to see that massive tool Vardy barely get a kick. I was impressed by Choudhury though, thought seemed very good for someone relatively inexperienced.

I can only advise in comparison to U23 games played at St Mary's because the public aren't allowed into the ones at Staplewood. There's never segregation. You get the odd song but they rarely amount to much. Probably a crowd of a 200 considering it's not their actual home ground. Can't see why you'd need a ticket in advance. Maybe check the Boro website for details. Not sure Bertrand or Ings would travel all the way up there for an U23 game.

Amazing draw, please God can we beat Derby
-
He was alright. Neat and tidy in possession, held position well, made some good takles. A couple of errors, one in the first half which could have resulted in a goal. Had one decent shot. I'd like to see him alongside a more defensive midfielder than Ward Prowse as that would compliment his style better and free him up to get forward more.

Derby v Saints (FA Cup - 3rd Round) Build Up and match thread
The Cat replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
We're in The Coronation. About 20 mins from the ground but free parking and very decent beer and food. -
That sort of thing is pretty common. There's quite a few players who are "injured" more than they are actually injured

Luckily I don't subscribe to the Times so didn't have to read the rest of that article. The headline was enough to make me do a bit of sick in my mouth.

We are free apart from when they auction a place off through Saints Foundation which normally ends up with the guy from Veho buying a place for his son.

We need to trust the new manager, allow him to bring in players he wants so that they fit his style. Not really sure that was happening before. Ralph's obviously a good manager. You don't take a team to the top of the German league by accident. Therefore we should allow him to stamp his mark on the club by shipping out the players he doesn't want and replacing them with ones he does.

Is it time to give Angus Gunn a run in the PL
The Cat replied to The Fat Controller's topic in The Saints
Exactly. 2 of the saves in the first half were superb. -
Pretty dull, was like watching a training match for most of it. Once we have cleared out the dead wood and got a few players in that fit the new style we'll be a pretty good team. Will take a while though, maybe as long as next season.
-
I sat through the vast majority of Puel & Pellegrino games but none of them were as dull as that match against West Ham. Highly unlikely I'll ever witness a game so bad.

As a Saints fan it's pretty irrelevant who wins the league. I'd rather Liverpool didn't but it barely matters to us, unlike beating Man City which would be amazing. A good set of results for us today, hopefully we can get something tomorrow to take advantage of them.

Everton v Spurs 2-6 Same as Grobelaar Game scoreline
The Cat replied to spyinthesky's topic in The Saints
Not ashamed to say I left as the 5th goal went in. On another note, I've had a quick look on the Everton forum and it's full of Xmas cheer. Seem to remember them boasting when their chairman took over that they were going to be the ones to disrupt the top 4. Yeah, well, good luck with that. -

I deliberately move seats at away games if I'm anywhere near that ***** in the hat.

There's loads. Magic Rock is definitely worth a visit. The Sportsman has a good selection of ales but gets busy before the game. The 2 pubs right by the station are good too. Kings Head probably nicer but I preferred Head of Steam. If you like ale then it's everywhere and stupidly cheap. As far as I'm concerned it's the best away game for drinking because there's plenty of choice, everywhere is walkable and the locals are friendly. You'd struggle to find somewhere that isn't good to be honest.

Interesting that it was him rather than the vastly more experienced Ward Prowse that came on. Pleased for the lad, and for the rest of the youngsters who must now think they finally have a chance of getting in the squad.
