Premier League TV fixtures - December and January
The Cat replied to Pamplemousse's topic in The Saints
Arsenal, West Ham and Chelsea games are **** for me. FFS. -
Give it to Jaidi, he can hardly be any worse. Seems like a decent bloke who has the respect of everyone and has done a good job with the U23's.
-
No way were there 3000 empty seats. Not sure how they arrived at that figure.

A few good bits in there. The thing about building a fence around the stadium to accommodate a smoking area is nonsense. Plenty of other grounds allow it by just putting small barriers and a couple of stewards outside. Wolves is a recent example. Stopping players signing autographs before the game is also silly. Sounds like it's coming from Hughes as part of the pre-match routine. Our terrible home record suggests that isn't working.

I wonder if there was a similar backlash against the men who dared to commentate on netball?

The Oxford game was for the inaugural and now defunct Ted Bates trophy. Paul Jones scored the winning penalty.

Redmond's always ragging off at people for messing up despite the fact he probably struggles to accurately pass a stool into the toilet. That incident with Lemina came because, for once, he span and went on a run for the pass over the full back but Lemina put it back to where Redmond was stood, probably because 99 times out of 100 he doesn't make that run.

Oh, and Wolverhampton town centre has to be one of the most depressing places in the country.

The Armstrong sub was bizarre. Mo was doing ok, not great, but ok. Putting Armstrong on the left completely unbalanced the midfield. They then had Traore's pace down that side against a guy who doesn't know how to defend and Bertrand who was already on a yellow. He would have taken his man down for the first goal but had to pull out because he would have been sent off. After a terrible opening 15-20 minutes we grew into the game and I thought Hojbjerg and Lemina had decent control in the midfield. We began to work the ball into good positions and create a few half chances. They were frustrated. Then Hughes messed up and the rest is history. The Cb's are clearly a problem. Teams are trying to pull one out of position because they know they are slow and can exploit space left behind. Luckily Cedric had a very good game defensively and bailed them out a few times. There certainly was a chance we could have nicked it. Armstrong had a good chance just before they scored the first. We really need to be putting those away to stand any hope of winning games like that because despite working good positions our final ball and composure in the final third is poor.

Reading some of these suggestions you'd think that no music had been written in the past 20 years.

Considering football started with the advent of the Premier League in 1992 it was Ian Branfoot.
-
Mine turned up in the post yesterday. We all know what's going to happen now is that they will run out of food before half time and loads of people will be complaining.
-
Pretty sure the Brighton players won't be sat around reading this forum thinking they now have 3 points in the bag because someone said Austin is injury prone.

Resources for games are organised well in advance. It depends on the opposition, previous history of trouble and intel. I'm not sure where police figures some from. The ones for Bournemouth and Chelsea are clearly wrong. Only thing I can think of is that they get them from turnstile clicks and some of the turnstiles weren't registering correctly. You only have to look at the highlights to see the ground was nearly full for both games.

If at least a third of the crowd aren't wearing Campo style wigs then I'm walking out in disgust.

It's FA Cup qualification weekend. There's loads of football to go and watch. The non-league teams appreciate the support far more than the Premier League clubs.

My worst injury was QPR away when Mane scored in the last minute. Was right at the back of the stand and fell down the stairs ended up landing on my front across the seats about 7 rows down. Massively bruised my ribs, could barely breathe the next day. Best part about it was ripping the crotch out of my jeans down to the knee. Spent the evening drunkenly wandering around London with my pants hanging out. Missed the Southern train back home by a minute so bought a load more beer for the hour wait. Ended up sat outside Victoria station drinking with some homeless people who at that point probably looked a lot smarter than me. Finally got on the train where I was unfortunate enough to be sat at a table with a family of Pompey fans who took pity at the state I was in, adopted me as their "pet scummer" and made sure I got home ok.

Wonder how many we had? Must be someone on here who lives near enough and made the trip. Good win for the nippers.

Some guy on a Colchester forum reckons less than 100 tickets sold. Plus there's no park and ride tonight and it's a pain to get to anyway. Looks like a tiny crowd. Imagine the team will be all youngsters, no real need to play any of the others. Plus they are in good form this season so may as well try and let that continue.

Long at Anfield Lambert at Fratton Rasiak at Derby in the play offs (the stand was shaking) Matty against Arsenal Camara against Norwich I'm also a big fan of the De Ridder against Reading goal. Amazing celebration. That one plus Pahars against Everton, Gabbi's second against Man Utd and the winner at Swansea just fail to make my top 5. There's not a lot in it though. Also want to mention the time I watched Palace beat Pompey 4-2 at Fratton in an end of season Championship relegation scrap. A few of us went in the away end with a Palace mate. When they scored the 4th it was properly mental, people on the pitch, on the floor, falling on top of each other. We got crushed against the wall in the front row, my mate got his hand cut open and wrote SFC on the wall with his blood. Pompey fans were throwing season tickets on the pitch and burning shirts. Annoyingly they won the week after and stayed up but that was a fun day.

3-1 Sholing.
-
US Portsmouth Vs Sholing tonight in the FA Cup preliminary round. As close to a Saints v Pompey derby as we're going to get for at least a season... At least if you don't count Eastleigh v Havant. Probably going to watch this, only a fiver to get in. Sholing on fire so far this season with 5 wins out of 5.

I'll drive if you fancy it. Leave early and we can hit the beach in our speedos before the game.

FFS. Boring but feel obliged to go, the worst of all possible draws.

Little Danny Ings is f-ing magic Everything he does just turns me on His injury record was almost tragic But now he's scoring for Southampton
