  1. I'm going to Huddersfield Vs Palace (in the away end with a mate) on the Saturday then over to Wigan on Sunday.
  2. Maybe not the coldest but a 0-0 at Birmingham then a 4 hour drive home through horrendous snow sticks in my mind. I was pretty lucky to make it back, slid all over the road trying to get out of Brum then followed a lorry at about 30mph along the M40 for miles and miles. There were plenty of cars stuck on the motorway and I only just made it up one hill by the skin of my teeth or I would have been sleeping in the car as well. Wasn't until about Oxford that the amount of snow eased enough to make me feel confident I would get home and when I did eventually make it there was barely any snow on the ground.
  3. He didn't in the cup game a few years ago, got sent off and we went on to win 3-2.

  5. Cup win. Anyone who says anything else might as well just give up watching football.

    U23s

Good to see. Not long ago there were plenty of grumbles about how poor our youngsters were. Since then the U23's have been on great form and the U18's seem to win every week.

  8. Ask any Wigan fan and they'll say winning the cup. Even most Birmingham fans will take the League Cup win for their current position. We have a disgustingly poor record at winning trophies. I'd take the FA Cup followed by 10 years bumbling around the lower leagues any day over what might be just one more season in the top flight.
  9. I always go to the Island Inn. Parking is free, football on the TV, 20 mins walk to the ground, decent curry and cheap beer. Never seen another Saints fan in there.
  10. First half was ok apart from the horrific defending for their goals, thought we caused them a few problems and should have scored. Second half was just so incredibly bad that the only surprise was they didn't score a couple more. Really hope Lemina isn't out for any length of time because we desperately need him playing every minute of every game to stand any chance of staying up.
  11. At half time I switch my phone to 3G and can always get reception because 4G is normally slow. Presumably because so many other people are using it. There is wi-fi but you have to know someone who works at the club and can give you the code. Although when I've tried it the signal doesn't carry far enough to work very well anywhere but the Itchen.
  12. My youngest always stands on his seat at away games and did on Saturday. You won't have any problems with that.
  13. Maybe he's trying to get sacked. Clearly hasn't been happy for ages.
  14. Pretty much every player discussed on here at one time or another has been dismissed by someone or another. What's your point?
  15. Lollana. On the offside rule there was one in our game I wasn't certain about. WBA had a corner which was cleared. Ball played back in, thier striker stood a few yards behind Bertrand who headed it out for a corner. Their player made no attempt at all to play the ball. I believe he headed it because he knew a player was behind him but was unsure as to whether he was offside, however his position in the penalty area forced Bertrand to play the ball. End result they get a corner. Should it have been flagged for offside?
  16. Do rugby players respect each other when eye gouging? When stamping on heads? Are they good examples to set to kids? I got far more injuries from foul play in rugby than in football and I played a lot more football. Boufal showed respect by immediately apologising and applauding the fans. In return his name was sung. Respect.
  17. Because he wanted to take the free kick and some fans shouted at him to let Ward Prowse have it.
  18. That was hilarious. Lovren messed up for the missed penalty then VVD kicks someone in the butt for the second. Fair play to the lino. Very brave but correct decision.
  19. Yep. Bloke I know who listened to the game asked me earlier if I was worried in the last 10 minutes when West Brom were "all over us". I told him they weren't and didn't create any good chances whereas we should have scored another. Pellegrino must have now learnt that his previous tactic of trying to sit back and hold a lead against teams of similar quality doesn't work, or is at best very risky. Hopefully this more positive style will continue.
  20. I noticed yesterday in the final 5-10 minutes when West Brom were pushing for an equaliser that Pellegrino was urging our players to move forward and not sit back.
  21. Ohhh ohhh Mario Lemina Ohhh ohhh he is a class midfielder Ohhh ohhh he never gives the ball away 1,2,3,4
  22. Watching that Lemina goal fly in from the away end was a beautiful moment. As soon as it left his foot there was only one place it was ending up. Boufal shushing us and then apologising before Ward Process scored was pretty funny. He ended up dealing with it pretty well because that could have been a nasty moment for him. 3 points, a world class goal and an amazing curry. Can't ask for much more from a day out.
  23. I watch them sometimes. Joe Piggott was their best player, he just joined AFC Wimbledon. Alex Wynter (ex Palace youth) is good for that level but has already bumbled around a few lower league clubs including Pompey.
  24. Considering our recent poor results I thought that was a very good performance. Spurs weren't great but we went a long way to nullifying them by finally playing our 3 best midfielders at the same time. All the players seemed up for it and all put in a shift. Good to hear our fans drown them out every time they started 'Oh When The Spurs'. Both team had decent chances to win, a draw definitely a fair result. Is that the first point we've got at home against them since we got back in the top flight?
  25. And back up we go!
