  1. I sometimes tune in for Popmaster but that's it. Steve Wright has to be the most irritating dj there is. Radio 2 is all so bland and safe though. It's 2.4 kids, 3 bed semi detached, surburban, people cruiser driving radio. My dentist had it on the other day, safe to say I was quite glad when he shoved the drill in my mouth to dig out an old filling so I didn't have to listen anymore.
  2. I can't abide adverts so all commercial stations are out. I generally flick between 6Music and Radio 4 depending on what/who is on. At the moment I'm spending most mornings listening to random cricket World Cup matches on Sports Xtra. As for internet radio Resonance has some interesting stuff. There's some decent electronic, bass, grime and guest djs on Rinse at times. If you like alternative music then KEXP from Seattle is the best I know. But then it would be, it's from Seattle.
  3. http://www.oftenpartisan.co.uk/archives/13107/bih-call-in-receivers.html Fan site run by a bloke I vaguely know. The old board tried to sue him for exposing their previous money laundering exploits but failed.
  4. Last night's was equally good. It's so far and away the best thing on tv.
  5. This is all so complicated I hope we finish 8th now.
  6. He's pretty much the complete midfielder KRG. Imagine Lampard, Gerrard and Nigel Quashie rolled into one and you're somewhere near.
  7. He was rock hard. Roy Keane once backed off from a tussle with him in front of us in the Archers. I think Van Gobbel had chopped down a United player, Keane came over chest puffed out but then walked off looking sheepish when Van Gobbel stood up and glared at him. As for his football, he was OK. Nothing special but nowhere near as some other players we've had. He'd run along, players bouncing off him and then over hit a pass by 20 yards before charging back and clattering someone.
  8. That was good. Thanks.
  9. Talking of flying things, did anyone notice the drone that flew into the stadium on Wednesday night? It hovered around by the top of the stand at the Chapel/Itchen corner then went shirtly after the bloke behind me pointed it out.
  10. This whole scenario definitely has an element of joy division.
  11. We went to a couple of strip bars/brothels but I have no idea what they were called due to the heroic amount of alcohol consumed. The first one was empty, the second had leather sofas and countless beautiful women sat on our laps with their flaps out. Stayed in the Intercontinental. It was a 5* place about 200 yards from the subway where children were pimped out and rabid dogs lurked around menacingly. Eventually ended up in the casino underneath it and on finally returning to our rooms reception was full of 50yo Saints fans with a prostitute on each arm. I imagine plenty of them had the best night of their lives. As for the game, there was the madcap police escort to the ground, the armed cops sharing cigarettes with us, the muddy bank to climb up to the terrace surrounded by a row of trees which was the unofficial toilet. Flares, incredibly noisy, bouncing home fans and incessant drizzle. Rory Delap missing a sitter right in front of us, the Steua players applauding us and fans swapping shirts and scarves through the segregation. Apparently at that time we'd taken more than any English club ever. That's why I want to get back into Europe. Stuff the squad size just give me beautiful butt naked pole dancers, dirt cheap alcohol and a crazy atmosphere. That'll do.
  12. Death And Vanilla - California Owls
  13. It's a bit old hat to be fair. And would they even see it? Just get some banners and flags made up and sing songs if you want to get your point across.
  14. Gallagher is fine as a 3rd/4th choice striker but in our main system we cannot afford to have him as Pelle's only back up. He's been out injured for ages, is still developing and will benefit from sub appearances, the odd cup game and a whole bunch of U21 action. As for Rodriguez we still don't know whether he'll be the player he was. There's a chance he could break down and be out again for a long time. There's a chance his confidence will have gone and it will take him 3 months to recapture any form. Ok, Koeman may change our style of play if Pelle was out but surely it's easier to have a player of similar attributes pushing him for a place in the team? Who knows, we may even sign someone better then Pelle and he will be our back up next season?
  15. It's very unlikely you'll get tickets now although you could try hanging around outside St Mary's an hour or so before kick off in case anyone has a spare. (I'd say the chances of getting tickets together would be nigh on impossible but you may be lucky) The nearest pubs to the ground are the Chapel Arms and the Joshua Tree. They will be full of fans before and after and I'm pretty sure both will show the game. Alternatively find a pub in town although there would probably be a mixture of fans in these as there's plenty of glory hunting locals who support Liverpool plus students who would too. Sadly Southampton doesn't have a great amount of decent pubs that show football. I'd suggest The Alexandra on Bellevue Road as one of the best. The Varsity is just up the road from The Alex and has plenty of screens. Both of these pubs are 10-15 minutes walk from St Mary's. If you have the time I'd suggest turning up to St Mary's about 4 hours before kick off to meet the players coming in. Go to the Chapel end of the ground by the car park and wait by the barriers. Even if you don't manage to get tickets you can at least get some autographs and have something to remember the day by.
  16. Yung - Nobody Cares. They're a Danish group and this is their first international release.
  17. The picture him at Arsenal Youth was the first that came to light. He said that he played for them for a year but was always a Spurs fan. Then the picture of him celebrating a title win was published and I'm not sure if he's responded to that. But he's definitely one of their own.
  18. Ambient 2 is amazing. Great choice.
  19. Remember being told that is has more traffic lights per square km than any city in the country. Never checked if that's true but it definitely seems like it at times.
  20. Took me an hour to get home from Eastleigh to Hamble at 7pm tonight after my son's football training. Every route was knackered. Last night was fine. Walked over the Itchen Bridge, got in the car and was home just over 10 minutes later.
  21. Some 1970's Italian psych funk by Giuliano Sorgini which has just been rereleased on vinyl. Gonna get me some of that.
  22. Just wait. Soon they'll announce the scorer and leave off his surname so we can all shout it together.
  23. The burst of Children by Robert Miles when we've run out for the second half is more embarrasing than a chap wearing a half and half scarf using a selfie stick to take a picture of himself. I'm never in the ground 10 minutes before kick off.
  24. Pretty much exactly how I see it. I optimistically hope they will both be integral parts of the Saints team in years to come. Harlee Dean is doing very well at Brentford now after we converted him from a midfielder to a CB. He's still relatively young (23) and looks to have a decent career ahead of him.
  25. He'll be a regular for England in the next few years. Superb player.
