Careful what you wish for...? Whilst the majority of their fans are quite rightly critical of how the Wolves hierarchy have handled his dismissal, this seems to be a common assessment of his managerial acumen...

I agree that it's encouraging to hear Dragan taking a much closer interest in the club at squad level... Just one word of warning though... when he got this involved last year, he promised us that getting a striker in was one of his priorities, and we ended up with Damion Downs...

The club's financial outlook (2026/27 season and beyond)
trousers replied to CSA96's topic in The Saints
Yep, I was wondering about that too. Anyone with any insight into this? The size of the loan certainly seems out of proportion with the relatively small percentage of lost revenue during COVID.... as you say, the largest revenue stream (TV) would be largely the same during COVID? And do we know if all/most clubs ended up being saddled with such a big loan, or were we relatively unusual in needing one, for some reason? -

I do wonder how much of JWP's "crab-like footballer" reputation is down to how his various managers have wanted him to play versus what he's actually capable of. I do seem to remember at least one season where he predominantly played a more advanced role and frequently popped up in and around the box with crucial goals and/or goal chances, with people (including myself) posting on here to question why managers typical see him more as a defensive rather than attacking midfielder, when he's evidently better at the latter than the former... Ye olde 'illusory truth effect' perhaps...?

I agree he deserves a lot of credit for the majority of players he's acquired, but given the scale of those two mistakes, which ultimately cost us automatic promotion, he's still got some reputational negative equity to pay back IMO. Win the league this season and I'll be at the front of the adoration queue.

Yep, I always felt he was a more effective player when deployed in the 'number 8' role rather than as a 'number 6'... The only trouble is, now he's in his 30s, the tendancy will be to play him deeper because he'll have inevitably lost some pace that is crucial to the '8' role (yes, I know he was never the fastest player in the world in the first place, but it's all relative...) I'm going to sit on the fence on this one... #noshitsherlock

Aye... Seems a tad unprompted... Which suggests he might know something... Planting a seed to test fan reaction...? Perhaps... Perhaps not...
