Is Gordon Taylor the 'BIG LOSER' in the Ched Evans shambles ?
trousers replied to sloppy-giuseppe's topic in The Lounge
Either we accept both jury decisions unconditionally or question both equally, surely? Or are you suggesting its OK to question the jury's decision for one defendant but not the other? -
I'm not too sure about that. The reason that Evans was found guilty is because the jury decided that he was compus mentus (sic) enough to have worked our that the woman wasn't compus mentus (sic) enough to give consent. They wouldn't have been able to have come to that conclusion if he'd been equally as drunk as her, would they?

Indeed. And not forgetting McDonald who, as it transpired, was falsely accused of rape. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/clayton-mcdonald-ched-evans-rape-7993571 -
Manchester United @ManUtd Louis van Gaal tells #MUTV that Luke Shaw is available to face Southampton but Rafael may not be risked. #mufc Van Gaal adds that Daley Blind has trained this week & Marcos Rojo will do so tomorrow. Ashley Young is #mufc's only injured player. https://v.cdn.vine.co/r/videos/1764EF57661165366934116929536_31b4557fc93.1.4.8815093566387107642.mp4

Private sector management in the NHS is more efficient and effective.

It would appear that there is no easy solution here (said I, stating the bleedin' obvious). What's worse? The danger of a hospital being turned into a "basket case" by poor management in the public sector or a hospital, having been transformed into an award winning establishment by private sector management, seemingly not sustainable as a business in the current climate. -

Eljero Elia - Confirmed 6 Month Loan
trousers replied to Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd's topic in The Saints
Koeman didn't rule out Elia being in the starting line up when asked about it in this afternoon's press conference. My gut feel is that he will start. -
When asked about the Barca position he said he would "respect my contract at Southampton", which if taken literally means he'll be here longer than one season. Yes, I know, I know..... https://audioboom.com/boos/2784798-saintsfc-manager-ronald-koeman-talking-to-bigadamsport-about-being-linked-with-barcelona-job
-
On Elia: "He will be part of the squad for sure and we are still assessing whether he is fit enough to start"
-
On Bertrand and Alderweireld contracts: "We have discussed this with them and it is ultimately up to them. They might have ambitions to be at a bigger club (or words to that effect) but we would obviously like them both to stay and sign contracts here"
-
Koeman: "We've offered Jack Cork a new contract and are waiting to hear back from him/his agent"
-
Koeman: "Maybe we will bring in another player in January" On Mane: "He'll probably be assessed by the Senegal medical team next week. We still think it's a 4 - 6 weeks injury but it may be sooner" On Clyne: "He may be ready to start the game. If Clynie says he is OK he will start" He said something about Cork but didn't catch what it was.
-
I wasn't far off. Second question was about Barcelona.... Koeman: "My whole life I'm linked to Barcelona but now is now the time to talk about that. Maybe in the future. I like to respect my contract with Southampton"
