  1. Aren't they somewhat belatedly referencing the Daily Mirror article from 2 days ago....? Edit: Me and MLG....separated at birth
  2. Thanks Monk. Have you officially come out of 'ITK' retirement now....?
  3. That's 5 years of my life I'll never get back. Worth it though...

  6. I thought Monk had retired from the ITK circuit?
  7. Ish.... from what part of the ground can hospitality guests see the water? Or have a stroll along it before a game? Artistic licence I guess
  8. "Our stunning city-based UEFA-accredited waterfront stadium stands testament to Southampton Football Club’s dynamic position within the most popular and challenging league in the world" 'Waterfront stadium' is stretching the bounds of reality somewhat....
  9. The 'problem' with a journo like Crook is that its nigh on impossible to separate the wheat from the chaff. I've no doubt he has decent sources and comes up with some genuine exclusives every now and then but I've lost count of the number of times he tweets 'breaking news' hours or days after I've read it on here and then posts a "I told you so" tweet days later if the 'scoop' comes to fruition. (usually closely followed by a 'pat on the back' tweet by his chum Mr Allen.... say no more.... ) And, to be fair, its not just Crook that does this - there's a lot of journos that operate in the same manner. Anyway, we digress...
  10. A hole in the hull that they are helping to make bigger....
  11. Totally agree. I've mentioned several times on here that I believe the FFP constraints have been a key factor in all this. I don't rule out the scenario whereby Katharina WAS willing to back Cortese's grandiose ambitions but those ambitions were scuppered by the Financial Fair Play rules. In other words, Cortese was solely focused on the playing side of things and took his eye of the commercial income side of the business and when he realised that the club wasn't going to be able to achieve the stated aims of "the project", due to the FFP spending cap, he set about engineering his departure. It wouldn't surprise me if both Cortese and Liebherr were actually on the same page....but they simply weren't able to carry things through because of FFP. I'm convinced as I've ever been that FFP was the first domino that fell and the rest toppled from there. My hunch is that the club HASN'T reduced its ambitions, rather that they are financially constrained to be able to carry them out.... If only Cortese hadn't taken his eye off the commercial income ball.... (Edit: maybe the 'fall out' between Cortese and Liebherr was that Cortese wanted to go ahead with the 'over spending' anyway and take the consequences of breaking the FFP rules on the chin - maybe the 'prize' outweighed the 'punishment' - but that Katharina wasn't prepared to break the rules, hence Cortese was left with no choice but to leave....?)
  12. Is it just me or is this player talk of 'the club not having any ambition because they are selling players' self perpetuating?
  13. Red and yellow, my arse

  15. I've never ever had a strong opinion one way or the other about our kits, but IF that is anywhere near being close my membership application for the bedwetters club will be in the post!
