1) Pinnacle/Tony Lynam/Michael Fialka last summer wrote a very similar letter to this... 2) They appeared on Sky Sports News and sent letters to fans on fan forums before talking to the administrator. 3) They claimed to have large backers that they were representing that wanted to remain anonymous, yet their own business background was dubious to say the least. History is repeating, just 13 miles further down the M27.

Likely to just be the formalities of rubber stamping the administration. Even though the HMRC were happy with it, no matter what it still had to go back to court.

Currently Swindon have taken 3 points from the last 9. If Saints beat them it will be 3 points from the last 12. Pretty poor already imo

Remember this guy? He went on Sky Sports News last summer claiming to buy Saints. Had Matthew Le Tissier connected with the bid and meetings at the training ground. In reality didn't have a pot to **** in and seemed to just love publicity. No one goes on "Secret Millionaire" for anything other than a - "look at me I'm rich, want to be famous and look how generous I am!" moment. The comparision between Lloyd and Fialka are striking in some ways. Fialka also claimed to be the frontman for some big backers. It ended up delaying Liebherr taking over for quite a few weeks and most of pre season was gone. Leaving Pardew with hardly anytime to prepare his squad and a key reason why the team had such a poor start.

You were the one that said they were in "brilliant form". When in actual fact they have lost 2 of their last 3 games in the League.

Mr Rob Lloyd whose company is £30m in debt and made a £6m loss last year. Why would a trust fund or large backer trust his business skills to be the chairman of the club and look after their money? Publicity seeking comes to mind. His appearance on C4... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkDb2OdEimU

Jaidi + Fonte = the new Svensson + Lundekvam ?
Matthew Le God replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
That is exactly what he said! Did you not read his post? -
Impressive for a team that has been in the bottom half of League One for most of the season. Also the only League team relegated with a +% compared to the previous season.

Fonte is 26 years old. -
Jaidi + Fonte = the new Svensson + Lundekvam ?
Matthew Le God replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Fonte isn't low quality. I think he would be potentially good enough for a lower Premiership side. Jaidi couldn't cope in the Premiership anymore due to his lack of pace and poor distribution. However put the ball in the air like Leeds did for most of the match and Jaidi won't lose a header in this league. -
Jaidi + Fonte = the new Svensson + Lundekvam ?
Matthew Le God replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Of course they aren't hitting their heights! Svensson and Lundekvam at their peak were the centre back pairing for a top 10 Premiership side and both current internationals for reasonably large European footballing nations. Fonte and Jaidi would be a good pairing in the Championship but no where near Svensson and Lundekvam circa 2002/03. Posts like this show why Alpine needs to move back to the UK and watch some football. -
I'm not the one that described St Mary's as "state of the art". You are the one that has to explain that statement!? St Mary's is a good, relatively new stadium. But it certainly isn't a high spec stadium compared to many other national and intrnational stadia.
-
I think you misunderstand what the term "state of the art" means. St Mary's is a long way from being the best quality new stadium.

Football League Show 27/02/10 & 13/03/10, It Seems
Matthew Le God replied to St Landrew's topic in The Saints
For all those complaining - get Saints player on a 2 free week trial (£17 for a whole year after) and you will be able to watch the whole 96 minutes of Saints vs Leeds. -
I think you will find Saints did.
-
It was also Boxing Day everywhere else in the country so it applies to all games that day and Saints had the 5th highest attendance in the whole of England to see two bottom half League One teams. Yesterday St Mary's had the 3rd highest attendance in the country, only two Prem teams beat it - 1st place Chelsea and 4th place Spurs. Even the Middlesbrough vs Newcastle derby only got 27k.
-
That is a bit harsh! Bear in mind the capacity is 25,404 so it would be difficult for them to get any higher.

Saints 1-0 Leeds Utd - Post Match Reaction
Matthew Le God replied to St Landrew's topic in The Saints
Yes, it is more likely. But the way you put it made it sound like it was a given. -
3 highest attendances in English football games today(including all Premiership, Championship, League One, League Two)... 1st Chelsea (1st in Premiersip) 41,755 2nd Tottenham (4th Premiership) 35,474 3rd Southampton (10th in League One) 30,794

Saints 1-0 Leeds Utd - Post Match Reaction
Matthew Le God replied to St Landrew's topic in The Saints
Some quite bizarre logic you are using there. The ref was poor but there is no direct correlation between the dominance of a team and the number of fouls. -
Plymouth haven't pulled out. But with the way things are going for them they may do. I think it would then be offered to Leicester or Hull as bids that missed out.
-
They'd make a lot more money by selling the St Mary's site for millions.
-
Likely to be on BBC iPlayer and Saints Player when everyone gets back from the game I would think.
-
Why have you posted this? It is an interview from August 2009!
-
For those questioning it, it is clear Liebherr and Cortesse have ambitions of a top half Premiership side if not better... Spurs, Villa and Everton could and will relatively soon all, have larger stadiums. Then you have Newcastle with 52k likely back in the Premiership soon and Sunderland with a 49k ground both possibly expanded soon for the World Cup. Hillsborough is being expanded over 40k. Forest plan a 50k stadium. Plymouth, Bristol City and MK Dons all over 45k. Elland Road will be expanded for the World Cup also. Plus there are a few others. To keep up Saints would need similar or better. Hence why they have unveiled plans for a training ground in the New Forest and it seems a possibility of a stadium relocation away from the restrictive riverside site of St Mary's.
