Its a verified account of a former BBC journalist, so has a degree of credibility to what he says. I'd say regardless of Sharp staying or going we'd be getting a new striker (or two). Sharp hasn't been part of our Premier League squads in the past so its not really opening up a spot.

The following tweet and the accompanying smug photo is a little annoying... Arsenal FCVerified account @Arsenal Wenger on Southampton: "They could have won the European Cup if they could have kept the team together."

Taïder Joins on 1 year Loan & Osvaldo to Inter - Official

Still doesn't make him the "least inspiring link since the takeover" though does it? Which is the point I was making. -
Its pretty poor service that I'm still paying for it and there's been no new content since 11th May 2014. Its all going on Youtube during pre-season for free! Lots of other clubs that use the same service have been getting new videos on Player during the summer. Why not us?

A 22 year old international who played at the World Cup and 25 league games for Inter Milan last season is the least inspiring link since 2009? Really? -
Then you need to watch him more closely because there is far more to his game than merely a set piece taker. To compare him to Simon Gillett is quite frankly ridiculous.

Which other 19 year olds at any Premier League club had more game time than him last season? Its not a long list, in fact its extremely short - especially in central midfield. Its easier for teenage wingers, full-backs and strikers to make a break through earlier than goalkeepers, central defenders or central midfielders. I don't think its something to knock Ward-Prowse with that he found it hard to dislodge Schneiderlin, Wanyama, S.Davis and Cork for a regular starting role. I think some people forget how young Ward-Prowse is and how he compares to other players of his age. Chalobah for example has never played a game at Premier League level, compared to Ward-Prowse's 49 Premier League matches!. When Schneiderlin was Ward-Prowse's age he was being relegated with us to League 1.

I think you are being extremely harsh on him, this summer he was captaining England at the Toulan tournament, was voted 3rd best player of the tournament and won goal of the tournament for his strike vs. Brazil. For a 19 year he is extremely impressive and had a lot of game time last season (up there with some of the highest in our 8th place squad).
-
He played in 34 out of 38 Premier League games. Even though he didn't start them all, for a 19 year old in the Premier League he had a huge amount of game time last season.

I think you need to read what I said again.

Alex Ferguson has been the Scotland manager. He was a national team coach under Jock Stein, and when Stein died Ferguson managed the side from 1985 to 1986.

Amazing how many BBC local radio presenters all over the country don't do even the most basic of research into the opposition. They'll never oust Mark Lawrenson...

Again you are misunderstanding what I said. I said it would improve the quality of today's bench which is... Subs: K. Davis (GK), Flannigan, Stephens, McQueen, Cork, Mayuka, Hooiveld, Reed, Targett If Pelle gets injured today, without Gallagher there is no like-for-like replacement even if you think Gallagher isn't ready.
-
All I said was that it would make the squad better than it is today. Why don't you think that is the case?
-
Add Gallagher, Ramirez and Schneiderlin to the squad and it looks better. But yes, we still need some attacking additions.
-
Then the deal wouldn't happen, they can't hold a gun to his head (well... Abramovich might hire someone perhaps). In any case I'd imagine Bertrand would have been informed during negotiations such a clause was included and he's happy with it as things stand today.

Twitter does contain millions of randoms spouting rubbish, but it also contains the actual people in question and journalists with good contacts. If you filter it correctly its far better than a "block down the pub told me... XYZ".
