At the same time Fonte was tugging an Arsenal player, Giroud was tugging Hooiveld's shirt only yards away. Both Saints and Arsenal players were fouling each other near the ball at the same time yet the ref gives it to Arsenal and MOTD completely ignores the penalty. Odd that...

The drop in quality from Lovren to Hooiveld is bigger than most changes we can make (Shaw and Boruc the other big ones). For example you'd be less worried if Lambert had to be replaced by Osvaldo. I'm not saying we can't get a result today, but it has now become a lot more difficult after our ever present centre back partnership has just been split up.

You may be thinking about the Olympic football under 23 competition that allows three over 23 year old players. To play for England under 21's in the Euro's and the Euro Qualifiers you have to be under 21 by a certain date near to the start of the qualifying matches. The last England under 21 game Clyne was able to play in was England's miserable campaign during the summer.

He is now too old to play for England Under 21's.

You are right he did play a big part in getting Saints to the Premier League and deserves respect for that. However, he isn't a Premier League quality goalkeeper. Upper Championship level was his peak and if we had to use him a lot this season it would cost us points (as it did early last season). Which Premier League teams would Kelvin Davis be good enough to be first choice for? Most of our competitors towards the top of the league have a better 2nd choice keeper than we do.

Until we reach the point where we are significantly adrift of top spot and have an injury crisis (particularly in defence or keeper), then we are in the title race. We haven't reached that point as we are 3 points behind, are playing extremely well and have no injury crisis.

Would you not be disappointed with 10th? Take out the top 7 from last season and who is better than us? Catching one or two of those 7 isn't completely out of the question, particularly Everton.

Lallana is not a conventional beat the fullback for pace down the outside winger and Saints under Pochettion use Lallana in a narrow midfield where the width comes from Shaw and Clyne almost playing as wingers pushing very high and wide up the pitch. How I've set him on the game is so he can play on the right/left/centre of the 3 in Pochettino's 4-2-3-1 system. He can be used further wide if you need to. They can still both be used as DM's in the game. If played together in a two they aren't both used as DM's. Against Stoke and Fulham Wanyama played as a DM with Schneiderlin and Ward-Prowse as CM's.
