Daily Star: ... Chaplow to snub Crystal Palace move
Matthew Le God replied to H's topic in The Saints
Simply being "better than Hammond" won't get Chaplow in the team. Lallana, Cork, Schneiderlin, Davis and possibly Ward-Prowse are all going to be ahead of both of them for a central midfield spot next season. -
How can a £500,000 transfer budget be justified, even if it is for loans? That is a similar figure to what the non secured creditors are getting! If you really have a surplus, shouldn't that go to the creditors perhaps...? Kitson, Kanu and Ben Haim may be interested in that news aswell... (which is why it is unlikely to be true) A £4m playing budget is still large for League One. How can that be justified? You should have one of the smallest budgets, use youth team and development players and the money should goto the creditors. I think you have also left out a lot of football debt, which the parachute payments will go towards.

So the trusts plan has just been announced that they want to get a loan from the council to buy the stadium. So to rid a club of debt, they want to create more debt. Their credit rating is terrible - three administrations in recent history, why should they use council taxpayers money? Why would the council trust a three times failed business with its money during a recession?
-
They said council loan would be secured. Secured against what? It can't be the training ground or stadium, they don't own them.

People on this forum were watching their game vs Gibraltar on a stream earlier in this thread.

They were saying the latest points deduction was unjust. I tweeted them... "unjust? The points deduction was for diluting a failed CVA with new CVA. Amounts to the same as not agreeing CVA in 1st place!" Mark Mudie then said on air I was wrong and that the 2010 creditors did agree to the latest CVA. Which as we all know here that is nonsense. He then made some comment about me listening to them because I was unhappy about the large ticket prices at Saints.

You have 705 posts in this thread so you have more than a passing interest in the subject yourself. We are all nutjobs together here.

I got a mention on Express FM. Mark Mudie really is clueless.

Worse than Walcott back to Saints for £15m and £100k p/w?

Following in the footsteps of a former Saints keeper... Maik Taylor

Aren't they just reporting/rehashing the Daily Star story? Nope that was Paulo Gazzaniga and Chris Johns.

We quickly declined after Strachan left in 2004, probably due to lack of investment/ambition to push on after a number of mid table finishes and were relegated in 2005.

Same old people jumping on me again. I wonder how this thread would have turned out if someone else went to the effort of trying to inform the forum what season ticket sales may be...? The9 was right in his prediction...

I got all of the data from the Saints ticket website. I haven't just made it up, anyone could have gone on the website to check. It also is in line with previous people that have totted up the numbers over the past few weeks.
-
No I can't be certain, but that is how it appeared to be. No-one has shown otherwise yet and I may be wrong. The numbers do seem realistic, given it is a similar number to last time in the Premier League. Had it given a number of 27k season ticket holders I could understand the suspicion it might be wrong. Only 3 seats in the entire stadium were listed as "locked by" and unavailable to purchase. One in block 8 and two in block 24.
-
My opening post is at least some evidence that we have, compared to what you have provided to say we haven't. It may be wrong, but no-one has proven otherwise yet.
-
Care to expand on that at all?

Read in in combination with the rest of my post.

Were we in a recession from March to July 2004? That is only one year after finishing 8th and reaching the FA Cup final. 2003/04 saw a 12th place finish in the Premier League. We are now newly promoted and have already reached similar levels whilst in a massive global recession!
-
After finding it relatively easy to get tickets for most Championship and League One games for the last 7 years it may change fans will realise how difficult it will be to get tickets in the Premier League and they may be tempted to get a ST for 2013/14. With only 5,500 to sell to non season ticket holders, games will sell out long in advance of kickoff as they did last time we were in the Premier League. Plus Turkish, look at it like this... Saints have more season ticket holders than the capacity of Fratton Park!
-
In those blocks with under 100 available, most of the available seats are singles and so are harder to sell.
-
They were all listed as available to buy apart from three seats in the entire stadium which were labelled "locked by". Block 7 is on the Itchen halfway line, it has the most expensive seats in the stadium apart from the corporate areas. Yes, they sold season tickets there as they are the best view in the stadium. Same with block 31 opposite it.
