Agree with those who have posted, very promising performance today until we brought the kids on, Dickson looked good on the left, Barnard and Connolly looked very sharp with Barnard my MOTM and Butterfield will get better as he settles, but already an improvement on Otsemobor. Thoroughly optimistic about next week if we have our four best players to come back

Clearly half the people slagging the team off did not go today, I though for 60-70 minutes we were equal to Reading, if not just a touch better. We conceded these goals when we had half the youth team playing(plus Wotton and Pulis who I'd rather not mention) Some of our passing and the chances we created were excellent. Barnard and Connolly especially looked very good together and Barnard was my MOTM for his work rate and his ability to keep the ball and run at people. Dickson looks full of energy on the left and put in a wicked cross in the first half, adding to last years squad which would have finished in the top six. I can see why people are worried about our transfer activity, but seeing the game today I wouldn't get carried away and throw yourselves off the Itchen Bridge, we created some lovely chances against a Championship side which we must take in to next week.

Maybe Morgan is still on holiday after playing in U.21 tournament and not around, and maybe Lallana also is on holiday still? Hopefully people are just reading too much into it

Just back from my 5-a-side with a whack to my ankle for good measure, 50-50 but i'm sure i'll be fine for tomorrow, or I'll tell my body that I am anyways. Not long to go, only 1 more sleep! Only joking, when you scored the winner last year you feel that this year might not live up to expectations ;)

Is the pitch going to be watered? Only have metal studs and trainers so hoping it'll be soft enough for proper studs?

Went umemployed and on holiday until end of 2014 season and added myself in as Saints boss. Finished 17th in Championship but given 6.9million to spend went up as champions far too easily. Spent big this summer after being given 38million by Markus and somehow sit top of the prem 12 games. Team is full of regens so I won't paste the team but I do have a 33 year old Saviola in my squad, as well as Fonte still. Can't believe I'll keep it up but quite good fun not knowing who the word class players are at every club anymore. Got a couple of fantastic regens, can we post screenshots on here? And how? If anybody is interested?

So true, by far our brightest player today. Kept twisting and turning his way out of trouble and trying to play our normal game. Had a fantastic season and glad he got his 20th of the season and he looked quite pleased to have got it. Extend his contract?

I'm not sure whether to go for Lambo or Harding, both have been immense this year, but do Rickie's goals get him the vote or Harding's immaculate consistency?

I actually thought he did alright, his first passes were with his head and he got up well I thought, played simple as you would do on your home debut as not to make a mistake. Having him seen him in the reserves I think he has some potential, although he needs to add the dominating presence of a Hammond type player to his game and I think he could be seen a bit more next season!

Definitely another CM if not two after last night! That and RB are the absolute certainties for the summer

As mentioned on the Steve Moran thread, Gary Hooper from Scunny, prolific even in Championship this year and if we can tempt him I'd love to have him in the squad. Danns will join QPR I'd think so we need a midfielder in that role And Bradley Orr is a great shout, he looked class when they came up into the Championship, puts his head in where it hurts and pops up with the odd goal too! If not Volz is worth a look!

I agree with the original post, I got behind the goal but slightly across as thought it would be full of singing and was told to sit down twice and called a smart arse because I said it was so quiet. Oh well we won 4-1 and Brighton should be better tomorrow
