  1. Yeah, attacking midfielder could potentially cover a lot of bases. Personally I think of a more central player but could be a winger. Assuming Dibling and Sulemana leave then we don't have too many proper winger options. Edozie is one but after that it's Armstrong, BBD, Aribo, Fraser and out of that last 4 I don't really consider any of them as old school wingers (plus we're probably open to offers on all of them). Haven't heard of those you listed but we seem to like the south american market.
  2. Looks like one of those "ugly" christmas jumpers in football shirt form.
  3. We were linked a few days ago but other than that it's my speculation. Link: https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/southampton-plotting-transfer-swoop-for-koln-striker-damion-downs/ There's other links - that's just the first one I found. He's coming into his last year of contract, young, decent record in German 2nd division so Spors team will know about him in the same way they did Quarshie. Chuck in Spors talking about physicality and athleticism then Downs seems to fit the bill.
  4. Yeah, that would be my concern too. Selles doesn't strike me as a particularly daring or adventurous coach and is more attuned to the defensive, hard to beat side of the game. They'll still have one of the better squads in the division but can easily see them picking up too many draws for a shot at automatic promotion.
  5. Given that Quarshie was only 3M then I reckon the other two won't be too expensive and probably more along the same lines (young and with potential that we've identified and don't want to miss out on). I'm guessing Damion Downs is the striker. No idea about the midfielder though, Zeneli maybe?
  6. So looks like Russell Martin has gone from managing in the top division in the world, to one that doesn't even rank in the top 30.
  7. I would, and I'm pretty sure 10M would get a better player in the championship than Sulemana but that's mainly because he's set such a low bar. Shame really as he should have been an excellent player but he's had enough chances.
  8. This is fascinating stuff. I think I speak for everyone in asking if we could have a whole new board completely devoted to player wages and reliable websites?
  9. I scream for ice cream
  10. Not sure he's quite Shteeve De Ridder but we were linked with this fella a week or so ago:
  11. Seems to from this video Tall Paul is likely to be off and can't count on Stewart to be fit so it makes sense to get another big lad in. TBH I like having a bit more a physical threat up front and gives us so many more options. I loved it when we had Pelle up front but for whatever reason it's never felt like we've been dangerous at crosses since then.
  12. I dunno, from a physical perspective he fits the profile we're looking for. Tall and rangy, and sounds like he has good pace and mobility. He's only 20 (although soon to be 21) and got a reasonable scoring record for a lad that's only really played one season. I don't know much about him but I think he definitely fits the bill for the kind of player we should be looking at and could see him battling Stewart for a starting position. Obviously in an ideal world we're looking for someone with a bit more experience but everyone wants one of them and they all cost way more. This is probably the kind of signing we'll be making. EDIT: Only got one year left on his contract too
  13. Don't worry, we've got worse players on grass - you can have them next.
  14. So in summary, there are potential benefits to a multi-club model but Saints haven't actually realised any yet. That about right?

Nike adverts are getting a bit extreme now.
  16. Agree that subsequent governments should have done more however just because they haven't doesn't absolve Thatcher from the mistakes she made.
  17. Link says 20M euros doesn't it? We won't pay that either though. I looked out for him a fair bit the last time we were linked and I thought he looked pretty decent and would have been a good fit for us. Surprised he hasn't really kicked on though and 5 goals in 22 starts isn't great for last season. Apparently Ipswich had a 22.5M euros bid turned down last summer so I guess they may be more inclined to reduce the price a bit but still unrealistic.
  18. Haven’t seen too much of Edwards but did watch the QPR Burnley game at the back end of the season just to see what all the fuss was about. Have to be honest, I wasn’t that impressed. Looked a bit slow and they subbed him off after 70 mins (think they were about 4 or 5 down at the time). Could just have been a bad game but certainly wasn’t a performance that would have many raving about him.
  19. Seems a handy little player but at 5ft 5in he doesn't exactly fit the physical profile of players Spors was talking about. Also had some issues about consistency in the second half of the season. I guess as cover for Fernandes he might be OK but not sure he looks starting 11 material to me. All based on nothing more than a YouTube video.
  20. Haven't seen anything from David in Sweden since January, hopefully just the football has put him off rather than anything else.
  21. Suspect Man City probably have a hefty sell on fee so the price would have to be a good one for it to be worthwhile. I don't think it'll be a particularly good move for Leeds either so hopefully we can keep him.
  22. So Yusuf has gone from resigning to re signing?
  23. Are we actually sure Brereton-Diaz scored a lot in the championship? I know it's down in the record books and all but, after watching him play, it just doesn't seem likely.
  24. That all sounds to me like you're rating this transfer window an 11.
  25. I can't see anything, whereabouts are you?
