  1. Sunderland, of course!
  2. Hamilton! How appropriate. Hoops, too!
  3. I've been checking out the BBC Football website numerous times a day lately, in anticipation of an article about the appointment, or rumours of an appointment, of a new Saints' manager. Each of the main stories on there has an accompanying photo, so any picture with a player in red-and-white stripes catches my eye. In the last week, or so, there have been stories about players with Sheffield United, Stoke City, Athletic Bilbao and - today - Guadalajara in Mexico. Anybody know of other football teams (especially outside the UK) that play in the red-and-white stripes? Any team ever play in red-and-white hoops? Just wondering.
  4. What's wrong with Pellegrino? Four syllables too much to cope with?
  5. ... will be announced yesterday?
  6. Hope you're not referring to me. I didn't use the term hysterical. And I have been to St. Mary's. [but maybe you were being "ironic".]
  7. Really? Not gonna bother, then, asking about your view of Maple Leafs fans.
  8. The Conservative Party got 49.7% in 1955. That's pretty close!
  9. Who has been the widest manager, I'd like to know.
  10. Saints made 15 TV appearances; they earned £25,240,917 in prize money (for 8th place finish); and received £122,450,841 in total payments from the EPL. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/40125394
  11. ... and played for seven seasons in the German Bundesliga (hockey) in the 1980's.
  12. Born and raised in Manitoba. Must be a Canadian, but might have dual-citizenship.
  13. My two-cents-worth: 1) I prefer the traditional red-and-white stripes. Always. 2) This change of kit every year is just an excuse to extract even more large sums of money (replica shirts) from the compliant fans. It's a strange custom, if you ask me!
  14. How high are our crosses, then? Are our strikers tall enough to deal with them?
  15. Lack of sense, lack of knowledge, lack of perspective.
  16. One of the great influential figures in the early development of "rock 'n' roll". Huge influence on The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Man, he could be quite the jerk, though—watch the documentary film Hail! Hail Rock 'n' Roll, to get a sense of what I mean.
  17. It's become a cliche. I've been seeing it more and more in the past month. Seems to be a favourite derogatory insult of the far-right crowd—along with the term "libtard". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_Snowflake
  18. Ron Davies and Rickie Lambert
  19. Something you'd particularly appreciate, eh?
  20. I will always prefer the traditional red-and-white stripes. Nothing better, I think!
  21. Easy to say in hindsight. Puel wanted to win the game, obviously. Gabbiadini was knackered. Puel hoped that fresh legs might just get us the winner. He took a gamble. That is his call. If Long had scored, you'd be calling Puel a clever tactician. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. Luck went against us.
  22. You missed the heavy irony, I reckon.
  23. Well, I liked this one: "We are the middle-aged; We like to sit in pairs; We take pictures when we want to, mush; And we don't f**king care!"
