  1. Isn' that near Swansea? Can't see why he would go there.
  2. Their oldest outfield starting player was 25, several were 22 or 23, they also had a 17 and an 18 year old. Hardly men against boys.
  3. You really think they would do this to earn maybe £50k in interest. It may seem a lot to you, but that's just peanuts in the overall scheme of things.
  4. He's not being held "against his free will" though, he is being held against his contract which he happily made of his own free will a year ago. He is not being held captive like some hostage. He could always buy out his contract if he really wanted to, it would be unlikely we would then keep his registration which is what prevents him playing elsewhere. Whether he could actually afford to buy out his contract is another matter (given it would be around £17m).
  5. Need to check the amount with Rosie, f'sure 'Arry can't even work a calculator.
  6. But that's not why we are not selling. Its because 12 moths ago he seemingly did not have such ambition and agreed to a new contract with us for 6 years at an inflated salary and based on him being made captain. Its called honouring a contract based on the ambition of the player one year earlier. He could have gone to a bigger club 12 months ago, if he had that ambition, or at least he could have turned down the contract extension. We will only look like dicks if we now actually sell him, and if we sell him to Liverpool we will look like even bigger dicks. What we should be doing, based on where we are now, is agreeing to sell him next summer, and if the **** had any honour he would be agreeing to that.
  7. LOL. You really can't see what everyone else (with perhaps 2 exceptions) see about you is really quite concerning. No-one ever holds Davis up as an exceptional player (because he isn't) but for some reason in your strange little obsessed world you think they do. Where is this massively overblown praise of his contribution? There is no evidence of it, except in your mind. The evidence on this thread, started by you of course, is that no-one thinks he is exceptional, but most can see his worth and that he does a lot of good things as well as a lot of mediocre and poor things. But you obsess about him and criticise him whether he has played well or not, your grounds of criticism are pathetic in most cases and you never/rarely criticise in the same way anyone else, several other players were absolutely **** poor again this week (Tadic, Redmond to name but two) but your obsession with Davis just goes on and on and on. We get it, you hate him, for some reason, now just give it a rest. We need to replace Davis soon, he has been a great servant to the club and has never been considered by anyone reasonable as an exceptional player. Ever. Move on.
  8. Try watching the Sky highlights and listening to the Sky commentator (happened to be Ian Dowie), reaction was that it was "a glorious ball, which Davis often does, superb" (have to paraphrase a bit because I have deleted the recording now). If you were to judge the game based purely on the Sky highlights (which I wouldn't) then you would be hard pressed to pick someone other than Davis from Saints for MOTM, made several great passes and defensively made some very telling tackles and interceptions. I don't think Davis has been great now for the last season but your continued, obsessive attacks on him, clearly based on some personal dislike for him, really are beyond the pale. I strongly believe we could do better than Davo, but we don't have anyone at the Club who is better at the moment, something which needs to be addressed given his age. Just wish you would give over with your personal vendetta.
  9. He hasn't, remains with same agent. Proves that Kevin Palmer in the Irish Independent is full of it. The fact that he also spouted the World Cup year ******** showed me he has no inside information whatsoever and is just making stuff up.
  10. This, Redmond as well, we really have crap in this area.
  11. Working fine on Chrome on desktop
  12. So now we know why Sam went to Brumigham, Arry Redcrapp's magic money tree.
  13. Hoedt also plays on the left, rather than right. Would allow Virgil to play on right which he did last season when he was playing with Yoshida. McCarthy, Cedric, Virgil, Wesley, Bertrand, Lemina, Romeu, Tadic, Davis, Redmond, Gabbiadini would presumably be our strongest team (though I guess we would actually play Forster)
  14. There were quite a few u23 games that Hunter did not go to last season. Without checking maybe they were mainly away games. Perhaps he has developed a new role as personal trainer to want-away CBs.
  15. To be fair I read a retweet by MLT on Saturday before the game. Sad news, great servant to the Club. Looks like he was instrumental in bringing Yoshida to the Club, and numerous others of course.
  16. Thought he was injured.
  17. He was ****ed off because SFC had already offered VD his captaincy, so quite clear that he was going to be shoved out the door. Not best way of treating him, on the other hand he was past his best which was never as great as some here would have us believe. Always had a big mistake in him but got away with a lot of the pull backs that are tripping him up now. Pity when it all ends in a bad way,.
  18. Technically of course I think you can just leave players off the list. But no club in their right minds actually do so, unless, say, a player is long-term (more than 4-5 months) injured. It would basically be tantamount to preventing a player from doing his job. At least these days they could play for the u23s (either as u23s or overage) and in the Checkatrade trophy, can you imagine telling one of our senior players that they will not be allowed to play for the first team for the next 4 months, or even one of our younger (but over 21) players who has played in the first team that they have no chance of playing in the first team until at least 2018. That's why they do it. Anyway, seems like the Club are doing what they need in releasing Clasie, and Gazza has always been lined up for a move (given he wasn't given a squad number), Gallagher looks like he is on the way as well (please not to Brum) and that allows us to bring in another body (Hoedt) or two.
  19. Maybe I will be way off, but I'm thinking that MP won't change much at all. He seems to be one who makes small, incremental changes. We hardly need to rest players, OK we have another game on Saturday, but then a fortnight off. We got used to rotation last season, but to me its more important to develop some understandings in the team. Perhaps put some of the unused players on the bench. Would be good to give McCarthy a game (but then I would like to drop Forster period), maybe McQueen or Targett instead of Bertrand and Boufal instead of Tadic, not much else. Then again maybe he will make 11 changes.
  20. Mason still gave the free kick to them at the spot where Noble clattered Lamina. He must have thought (clearly wrongly) that Lamina fouled Noble.
  21. He was quite poor yesterday, no doubt. Maybe it was partly due to the injury he picked up against Swansea, though you would wonder why he played if he was still feeling the effects, McQueen or Targett could have ably deputised. But why he switched off completely for their goal is hard to understand.
  22. Exactly as expected. The only decision really was Tadic or Boufal.
  23. 5d=2p (roughly). Maybe you meant 5s. or 5/-, that would be 25p.
  24. Just means that we won't have to change both CBs the same year, we can move Hoedt on a year earlier than van Dijk.
  25. You think wrong , Sam is not an u21 any longer (he will be 22 next month).
