Renewed after much thought. Hopefully things will change over the summer that will help things improve next season. The awful home football this season made me seriously consider not renewing, together with the increased frustration of travelling due to road works etc. But after over 50 years of support the thought of not going regularly was too much. I think its you that may have been watching a different game. It wasn't as excruciatingly bad as Hull but it was still awful. Disjointed, slow build up, Tadic having a mare (again), Davis passing dreadful and shooting, no service etc for Gabbi, Redmond ineffectual, even Romeu playing us into trouble a few times, 2 shots on target, 2 goals. The only good performances were Stephens(again) and Cedric. Terrible game, but at least an improvement on the last home performance.

This. Also Bertrand, like Romeu, has already been at a "big" club, seen what it does for him (nothing except earn him a CL Medal) and is seemingly content with being at a club like Southampton. Totally agree, have said this all along. Needs to add threat up front and his passing could be improved. Think he will be England CB in the future. By the way Caceres is not on loan and I hope we do get to see and keep because he is also a top class defender.

No, can you? I would be more concerned about the potential damage to one of our brightest prospects throwing him in too early. Only 19, still probably 2 or 3 years away from breaking into the 1st team. Can you imagine the meltdown on here if he was thrown in and his inexperience was shown up. Stephens has nearly 4 years on him and many on here can't cope with his learning even though he is actually showing what a class CB he is. If we had VvD playing alongside Jones it might just about work, but if had to play alongside Yoshida or even Stephens it would probably destroy the lad. No way would anyone at the Club contemplate such a reckless move at this stage, thank God.

Other clubs were also sniffing around (so not true that no-one else wanted him) but it was unlikely that clubs who didn't have an emergency situation, as we did, would take the chance mid season.
