OK, it was a while ago now, but it was done. https://southamptonfc.com/news/2016-08-09/u23-report-southampton-5-1-qpr

Pelle only scored goals when the weather was nice, and he was poor at holding it up as well.
-
Well, you should know, on both counts. Think its time for you to join chief mong and his little buddy amongst the thrushes on the ignore list.
-
Oh well at least they continue to report that he started at Newcastle, no-one seems to associate him with us or Palace. Grade A *****, shame because he could have been a decent player.
-
No, at least got a mention this week by Claude, but nothing about when he might be back. Not in the goalkeeper pics today so presumably not training. Seems odd as it looked like he just did a hammy, if woukd have thought he would be training by now.

I gave up on him about 40 years ago, was great for us in 76, but I think he's too old now. Great moustache though.

Man Utd v Saints - FA Youth Cup - This Evening
VectisSaint replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
That's an excellent result for the kids. Form book out of the window. -
Certainly will be tough, our u18s are near the foot of their table, finding it hard to score goals (like the first team) and with players unavailable due to being used in the u23s and injured. No wins in the last five. United are 2nd in their section, scoring about 3 per game on average. Lets hope for a major upset.
-
Still too many home draws though, mostly against poor opposition, Watford (at the time), Sunderland and Be'er Sheva. I'll accept that home draw against Liverpool was a positive give their then current form.
-
Its the 3rd or 4th time he has done a shoulder. While he and Hoddle were at QPR Hodbstated that Chas always had heavy strapping on both shoulders. It was clear it was very likely to happen again, thats why no other ckub bought him and partly why he was a knock down price. We took a risk, now he is out for the season effectively. Bad luck? No. Calculated risk, didn't pay off. Now we need a striker in Jan. Someone who can hold the ball up and also score goals in the winter months.
-
Romeu in for a tough day. No Cedric, must be injured. Not a selection that fills me with confidence, but we played our best team (except Fonte) on Thursday so maybe it will work. At least Redmond has finally been dropped.
-
Hope not, he has a few games to go if that's the case
-
Hoddle was saying on TV after the EL game on Thursday that Charlie was always strapped up around both shoulders when they were at Rangers.Seems odd in some ways that we took him with such persistent problems.
-
He really wasn't. He has been at best average, at worst very poor so far this season. Remembering him as being excellent at any time this season would suggest a memory problem.
-
No he didn't. Sims got pushed off the ball too easily and gave the ball away often last night. Redmond did the same but for longer and not as well.
-
Awful performance. **** poor player. Its like we are playing with 10 men. Too lightweight, no footballing brain, switches off, gives the ball away cheaply, the list of his fshults goes on and on. Sadly our manager fails to see it.
-
Federico Arias, the Torpedo. Admittedly you did say "played for" and he didn't.

Yet the official information from Companies House clearly shows the Vibrac loan was paid off in full 2 years before the Macquarie Bank arrangement was put in force. Clearly the Echo was wrong, because official information clearly shows what the Echo reported was bull****. Personally couldn't give a ****, but facts is facts.
-
The Vibrac loan was terminated (satisfied in full) on 4 Oct 2013 according to the filings. So your first suggestion is rubbish. Its a new loan.

Sorry, but you are also completely, fundamentally wrong. It is a minimum to trigger, not a maximum. There is no need to offer more to trigger it as you say but that doesn't make it a maximum. Try referring to any literature on the subject, if you don't believe me. Here are some examples to help you, easily found by using Google just to check I was right: https://www.quora.com/What-is-a-release-clause-in-a-professional-footballers-contract http://www.danielgeey.com/buy-out-release-clauses-in-football-the-basics/ http://sports.stackexchange.com/questions/3058/in-european-football-what-exactly-is-a-release-clause If it were the maximum then offering £1 over the clause limit would not invoke the release clause. But offering under by £1 would not trigger it. Simple use of English/Maths old boy.
-
A Release Clause stipulates the minimum fee, not the maximum. Fundamental mistake there. It also isn't used to automatically trigger a transfer, it is a figure that will ensure that the Club has to allow the potential buyer to offer a contract to the player. He of course can still accept or otherwise the offered contract and the actual transfer fee can be agreed to be higher, for instance if the player is not persuaded by the contract on offer. If there is a Release Cause in Virgil's contract (which personally I doubt) this does not mean that is how much we would get if he left, it simply means that the club has no option but to allow a discussion to take place.

Bombshell? This has been on the cards since the Summer, the move was expected to happen in the Summer, how can this be a bombshell. Clear that Puel expects him to be on his way in January. Why would we extend his contract when he will be in his 35th year when it expires. I suspect we have a replacement lined up, but in any case we have 4 decent CBs in the squad (when Gardos is fit, Stephens being the 4th) and Yoshi has proved a more than able replacement when Jose hasn't played. If we can get a few mill for someone of his age then go for it (I'd like to think a bit more than 5 mill if its United or Everton asking though). Clear since the summer that all is not well with Fonte, wish him well, and thanks for all the fish.

CPS checks would have flagged up issues, conviction or not. The problem is CPS checks are only required/compulsory if you are working with young (under 18 players), apparently at Fleet he was working with the first team where CPS checks are not mandatory and were not carried out (as acknowledged by Fleet). It is a loophole in the FA requirements, even though working with the first team you are also more than likely to work with minors.

Even when hardly any players (2 outfield) play in those games. Really this is just a rubbish excuse that does not stand up to scrutiny.
-
But we didn't and it's not. Same old Saints, inconsistent as hell, unable to score and hopeless keeper exposed when defence has an off day. Same team as last week (except Boufal for Sims), rotation is not the issue, 8 of the team playing today have had a week (6 days for the pedants) to get over the last game and are not strangers to each other like they would be if the team was being tinkered with as some seem to think it is. Bad decision to play JWP instead of Davis. Hopefully Puel can get us fired up for Be'er Sheva, if only we had a fit backup keeper to replace Desparate Dan.
