Funny you should mention the Antelope Ground, but I found out recently that my Great Granddad was the landlord at the Antelope Hotel in 1889, the year Saints started to use it as their home ground.

You could smell John McGrath's embrocation from the back row in the Milton. Not so sure you couldn't smell it as you got off the Red Funnel ferry I only went to the Dell a few times after it was all-seater (because I moved away and couldn't get tickets easily after KK joined) so have very few memories of the atmosphere then, last time was when I took my daughter for the friendly against Le Havre. She is 21 now and season ticket holder but still recalls dancing in the back row of the East Stand to the half-time music, guess she would have been 8. The wooden stand was literally rocking that evening, not due to too many people though, just rotten wood. Atmosphere in earlier days was electric, the Anderlecht game always sticks in my mind amd also the Vittoria Guimares [sp] one , and also one or two games when we couldn't get in, Manure in the Cup I think it was, watched from the student hall tower block that overlooked the ground, but could not see the west side of the pitch, somewhere around 75-77. Didn't even know the girl whose flat we invaded, my mate just blagged his way in.

I guess Spuds' need for some sticky tape was greater than ours. But leaving the club because we had a surplus of stationery seems a little excessive.

Are you trying to make some of us feel old? Shouldn't you be at skool?

Surely one of the jobs of the Marketing Dept/Communications Dept is to communicate on aspects that might involve increasing sales. No-one is asking for Ron to tell us what is happening, but shirt sales could be affected by this player officially being available, saw several shirts with Mane's name on the back on Saturday. Sadly of course having mane on the back doesn't make us as much money as Alderwereledleerledorwhatever of course.

Exeter would be good, or East Cowes Vics

Was his profile ever there? Given there is still not a picture of the new boy Schneiderlin, not sure I would be too concerned if the OS has not yet caught up with the fact that one of our players is missing.

Lallana and Lovren start against European minnows.

40-odd? He played a total of 31 games for us. He had several more games where he was exposed at times, but either Fonte or Shaw got him out of trouble. He was clearly not a liability, but he was overrated by many people who thought he could do no wrong and ignored the influence of Fonte. He was definitely not the same player after he returned to the team in March. Maybe it was due to getting his balls trodden on.

As a few realised last season, especially second half of the season, Lovren was carried quite often and got out holes by Jose. Lovren now admits in the article " I was used to other players leading before" what some saw. yes, you could argue that Pool signed the wrong centre back, but what they should have actually done is sign both. Fortunately for us they weren't bright enough to see or do this, and hence we have sold a replaceable player for way over the odds and replaced him with someone who may turn out to be better, and hopefully if he does we could actually buy him before anyone really notices. One of the few areas of the squad where we have clearly strengthened since last season, not only bringing in Toby but offloading Jos and replacing him with Florian who looks on the minimum evidence available so far to be at least adequate. Our Captain is the key to our defence this season, along with as others have said the strong defensive MFs in front of them.

Try to keep up Art, on here about 2 hours ago, 2 assists as well

Now the daily dribble goes on and on and on from you.

2 goals and 2 assists

Not to mention paying for tickets for Stanley fans who had travelled to Skatesville to go the Saints v Burnley cup game, reportedly cleaning the toilets and other things at Stanley's ground due to lack of money. He has also been credited with attracting a lot of decent players to the Club last season just to help out because of his enthusiasm and motivation. Shame really that in the end the lack of money has meant that he could not push them on further. Apparently being lined up for the Leeds job, I really hope he knows what he is doing before going for that poison chalice. Run by a complete crackpot at the moment.

Plenty of other cancer-related charities if you feel that way, though I believe your views are misguided due to a misunderstanding of why they campaign politically. Not like they hide the fact they do it and why.

Toby Alderweireld Signs on Season Loan - Official
VectisSaint replied to Aziz Yebda's topic in The Saints
Clear yesterday that while he is clearly right footed he was also confident on his left foot, don't think there is any worry there. Maya is also confident with his left foot. -

I noticed Ronald tapping up Tim Krul for next season at the end of the game to replace Boruc/Kelvin. Would be a good number 2 for Desparate Dan. -
Why are Villa playing Liverhampton again next week? Or are they.

He said something like this on Solent post match yesterday. Not sure he said better as such but that was the sentiment

Bloody hell, did you have your eyes closed. There were people with collecting buckets every where. But, they had all disappeared before the end of the game when was going to offload my loose change. So just had to donate again when I got home.

He really was excellent today. A completely different player to the one I saw against West Brom, when he was absolutely awful. Clearly a confidence player. Fair play to him, really hoping that he got a hat-trick, but we gave up on attacking after 3-0 *****il the last minute) so his chances were slim.

So you don't believe their official organisation paperwork. The organisation did not exist, so how did the organisation make an earlier approach? Maybe some individuals did, who knows.

Given that he people who are interested in taking over Spuds are Cain Hoy who formally announced the launch of their operations yesterday, it is perhaps more than unlikely that they were interested in Saints. http://www.prnewswire.co.uk/news-releases/cain-hoy-enterprises-announces-launch-of-operations-274809291.html
