  1. Does he have a nice new yellow tie? I see his old one has been inducted into the Football Hall of Fame, bizarre.
  2. I'll bet that come May 2014 Spuds will be several places above Sunderland in the PL table. My only caveat to that would be if Bale leaves, in which case Spuds may drop several places. Sunderland will be in the relegation zone in my opinion.
  3. Danny Fox it is then, not that there is any real competition. Given he does not even get selected for the 29 man squad selected by WGS for Scotland I think his standard is clear for all to see.
  4. Why? In 1997 Man City were a huge club, much bigger than Chelsea. Some people seem to think Citeh being major player is a some sort of new phenomenon. There is really no reason why a team like Southampton could not win the league, but it gets harder as time passes while there are megabucks for the bigger clubs, Europe and Sky are making the gulf bigger each year, but the bubble may burst. Blackburn were the last team to really break through, but even that was 22 years ago and look what happened to them when Jack Walker passed on. I would not be surprised if within next 10 years the top 4/5 teams have broken away and play in a European Super League, at that point Saints could be in with a shout. We should have made sure of winning the title in 2011/12 instead of being poxy runner-sup to Reading, at least we could have said we had won the Football League.
  5. Well he has missed the new Prince then, he left last night with his mum and dad.
  6. Thought Mayuka scored 32 in 55 for Young Boys in the Swiss League between 2010-12.
  7. So lets discuss the Forren transfer then, seems like it might have fitted with this scenario.
  8. So why don't you heed your own advice then. Because of course you don't actually believe what you write, but just like taking the **** and winding every one up.
  9. If only that were true.
  10. Don't be silly, there will be people on here who will say we've been shafted if he is player of the year in the PL next season.
  11. Dundee is a Scottish fruit cake
  12. You heard it here first. I must be ITK. Will upset a few, even if it is a meaningless friendly against Blue Square South level team.
  13. Come on Guly, hat-trick time.
  14. I think the unlaced trainers will make it easier for him to slip them off to walk across the coals that are waiting for him in the pit immediately to his left.
  15. I suggest we have a poll to see if it is obvious or not obvious. The result of the poll will obviously indicate the obviousness or otherwise. Of course the option of undecided might make the obviousness less obviously clear. Obviously.
  16. Others do similar things and are usually just as factually incorrect (if not more so) but because its MLG some people just criticise for the sake of it as happened here. In this case he was factually completely correct and it was a point worth making, the difference between League 2 and Conference South is quite large, so it wasn't really nit-picking at all. The OP was excellent and MLG added valid point including complementing the OP. If we had more discussion on here like this it might become worthwhile again, but instead when someone makes a valid point they get jumped on and insulted. Far rather get this sort of response than the crap we have to put up with from the trolls/WUMs who have wrecked this place and yet who seem to be tolerated by the Mods presumably because they are their mates. Ocassionally it is worth recognising that someone who you may dislike has made a valid point rather than just insult him simply because of who he is (not aiming this at you, you were not the one who jumped down his throat).
  17. Maybe he just takes the time to find things out rather than just making things up like some do on here. It was a valid point he made, our opposition today are probably at best the same level as Salsibury or Eastleigh, rather than Skatesmuff.
  18. To be fair to the Daily Fail (can't believe I'm defending the pile of ****) it is the BBC who have gaffed. In their Gossip Column they have linked to the Daily Fail article with the following words: Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino led his players in a walk across hot coals as the squad continued their pre-season preparations in Asia with some bizarre team-building exercises. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/gossip/
  19. Maybe he will find the Adidas fit is better than the Umbro.
  20. Apparently there is no limit, 62 has been used by Man City player I think, but the PL seem to have the option to say no to a number rather arbitrarily. Somehow I doubt that VDub will be wearing 76 though it would be a nice idea.
  21. Presumably you have had Alps on ignore before then, this is fairly standard for one of his posts. I don't put him on ignore because I enjoy a good laugh.
  22. Needs a good pre-season but will probably come good eventually if we persevere. Actually he signed on the 10th and scored on his debut the following day against Northampton, so clearly the later signed and with no time to think or gel with team-mates the better, at least that would Alpine's logic. Can I add one of those face-palm thingies here or are they now forbidden?
  23. So why no mention of Yoshida who was hugely successful (as long as he played at CB) but signed later than Mayuka? Clyne was hardly early either as he signed on 19 July, i.e. a year ago to the day. You still show a complete lack of understanding of the operations of the transfer market and still try to make points that are nonsense when allied to the facts. Gaston was OK, not outstanding, but you can hardly say he is rubbish and contributed positively in several games. Mayuka I agree with, Bambi on ice whenever he has briefly played, has shown nothing to make me think he will fit in or contribute even this season.
  24. No thanks, I would not want to watch all of Stoke's away games even if the coach travel was free.
  25. Has Sammy Saint been picked up by one of the mega teams? I thought we were no longer a selling club, we need to be keeping our star performers. Just hope he has not been head-hunted by the South Koreans.
