I never said that Davis would be telling the defenders when to step forward, just that he'd be more vocal than Bart. Obviously Fonte has to play and Harding is a given on the left. I'd go with James to give a bit more stability and then it's a toss up between Perry, Thomas and Seaborne, I really don't think Perry is going to be a leader or much of an organiser at the back. I guess a lot of it comes down to how vocal Fonte and Seaborne are, Pardew is obviously in a much better position than any of us to make the call. If he think it's better to go with Perry/Thomas and Fonte then so be it, either way I don't think it will be a huge problem. Good players adapt quickly, just like Trottman and Jaidi.
-
All vaild points but what makes you think having Perry would make it so much better? he doesn't seem the sort to come out and command a backline, even with a wealth of experience I don't think he's the man for the job. Ideal world Jaidi would be fit and we'd have an easy home game and just bed in Fonte, we're not in that position and I think we have to take a bit of a gamble. Play Davis to add a bit of experience, he never stops talking to the back four and they're going to need that and infront of him I'd go with both Searborne and Fonte - good players don't need weeks to get to know eachother imo.
-
Why wouldn't he? He chucked Trottman straight in when we signed him. I'd rather play Fonte and Seaborne who have only had a couple of training session together than play Perry and Thomas that's for sure. In an ideal world it would be Jaidi and Fonte.

No reason, just don't really put much thought into posting a side on here.

It's pretty obvious he's talking about Fonte as the one who's probably too good for the leauge. But you know, have fun pointing out all the negatives.

Spot on. Factor in Antonio and it's been a brilliant window for, I can't think of another club who have bought in as much quality as we have. Signing Fonte really shows our ambition to push on and after signing him I have every faith in Pardew's ability to get us to the Premiership. It was clear that we needed a silky ball playing defender to play alongside Jaidi and that's just what we've got. Seaborne is another decent signing, not quite as box office as Fonte but he should do a job and will hopefully fill the Jaid shape void in the side when he's injured or needs a rest. I'm not 100% sure we need a right back but from I've read about Ostemebor he offers something different to Thomas, James and Murty so I can understand the short team deal. Now I know there are going to be people who think we need to sign another 11 players for promotion but I honestly think our current squad should be able to pick up the 2~ points per game we need for the play offs and we should now look at offloading a few. Would be delighted if we can bring in either a left winger or an attacking central midfielder so are 4-5-1 is more viable - but it's hardly a disaster if we don't bring anyone else in. I've every faith that Pardew will get us to the play offs this season.
-
Davis James - Seaborne - Fonte - Harding Waigo - Hammond - Morgan - Lallana Connolly - Lambert If Connolly can't start bring Ostemebor in, play James wide right and move Waigo upfront or just play 4-5-1 with James in front of the back four.
-
Would you sign Papa Waigo N'Diaye on a permanent basis?

I'd sign him, he's got an eye for goal even if most seem to be simple tap ins you need someone putting them away. Would be my first choice right winger. -
Either an attacking central midfielder or a left winger to free up Lallana to move into the middle when we play 4-5-1.
-
If we don't get promoted Lambert, Lallana or Schneiderlin might get a better offer? Losing one, two or even all three would put us straight back to square one. We have to do everything we can to get promoted this season while it isn't out of reach.
-
We have struggled to keep it tight at the back all season. We haven't struggled to score goals. At one point we'd scored 40 goals in 15 games. If we bring in either a left winger or a goal scoring midfielder than I'd be dissapointed if we don't reach the play offs. We need to average just over 2points per game, just need to go into everygame expecting to win.

Jon Otsemobor signed on 6 month contract

I've posted it before but i'm almost certain the midfield imbalance with Hammond and Schneiderlin was brought on by our lack of a ball playing defender. They should have the freedom to push forward now they know there's someone in defence who's going to give them the ball into feet and not just go long at every oppurtunity. I think our next priority should either be a left winger so Lallana can move into the middle when we play 4-5-1 or a more attacking midfielder. Stock would fit the bill if we can pull it off. Not sure a striker is a priority for this window if we can bring in a midfielder. -

I'm not sure what sort of striker we should be going for, someone to compliment Lambert or someone to act as cover? Ostemebor signing and Murty coming back to fitness will mean James gets more chance in midfield so Waigo can play upfront. On the other hand we've got Paterson who looks lively who can play the Lambert role. -

We're in league one and spent the best part of two million and you're dissapointed? -
Is that a joke? It's been clear for ages our defence has been our problem. Lack of a proper right back, lack of a defender who can play the ball from the back and no one to cover Jaidi with Trottman leaving. We've now fixed all those problem and you're still having a moan! We've been scoring goals for fun, it's the other end causing us problems. Hopefully Fonte, Ostemebor and Seaborne sort that out.

30 million?

Good signing. Guess that means Thomas won't have any sort of future with us now. If he's an attacking full back then maybe a right side of James and Ostemebor is the way forward makes our 4-4-2 a bit more defensive and still gives us a decent threat down the right hand side. Could setup a bit like Bridgey and Marsden did down the left for Strachan. Then there's the option to bring on Waigo and change the game.
-
1.2m and he manages the odd great game in between injury and his usual 50 pence head performances. 1.2 million we're never getting back.
-
He's just terrible tbf

I'm sure they've got the black arm bands on already.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8456819.stm Over 100k dead and more than 3 million affected. Can't even begin to imagine what it's like out there, 100,000+ people dead is mindblowing. Doesn't seem to be getting any press over here, strange.

Coventry got a smaller attendance than they did for their tie with Aldershot. Out in force to see a "premier league" side.
