It's a bit love hate with me and Top Gear. Some of the stuff they do is the best television I have ever seen. Trying to send the Reliant Robin into space The road trips accross the Deep South and Botswana Racing the Veyron and the Typhoon The races to Oslo, Monte Carlo, The Alpine ski resort, across London and from Turin to London. Sabine Schmitt driving the van around the Nurburg. The 24 hour race at Silverstone. The Hamster's ill fated rocket car attempt. The F1 drivers in the reasonably priced car. All of it fantastic television, but it's ruined at times by stunts which are blatently staged, childish humour and terrible acting. Sketches like the caravan holiday were just very poor slapstick. I'd like to see power laps board for novelty vehicles. They've already had the Sea Harrier and Renault F1. How about more like that. A combine harvester, a milk float, a hearse, a hovercraft, a tractor, etc. It would be pointless, but quite entertaining IMO.

SWF at its poetic best.

Well BWP played up front all season the season before last (40 league appearances), and we came within 20 minutes of getting relegated. And that was only thanks to goals from John and er... Vignal. He showed some decent promise when he first came here, but he just hasn't progressed at all since then. To say, "his finishing is poor at times," is like saying, "Hitler, bit of a knob sometimes". I know you can manipulate stats to show almost anything but; in his first season here 15% of his shots resulted in a goal. Last season it was 11%. His composure in front of goal is getting worse if anything.

Interestingly, Holland shares a border with Germany, just like Switzerland. Coincidence?
-
I think it just means that he had agree to be the manager until 30th June, but has agreed continue until all this mess is sorted out. Really hope it doesn't mean he will be our permanent manager next season.

Molyneux is on trial in Cloggyland somewhere. Skacel and Surman gone... I was at a loss to think of anyone really.

Actually we were in the relegation zone. Think you're refering to 2003.

Bart and Rasiak both fit the bill on that one. I think Bart just pipped Greg to it when Burley took over 3 1/2 years ago. How sad.

We must have saved about £600 so far. Good stuff.

Phwoah!

I'll wait until I find out if SFC exists and the possibility of some of the players signing new contracts before I highlight them. Players in red are the one confirmed gone and not coming back. Interestingly, if all the deals in the pipeline go through and all the out of contract players leave, we're left with Perry Thomas Saganowski Rasiak Wotton Bart Holmes Schneiderlin Lallana James Gillett Lancashire from the senior players. Which you could ironically make a starting 11 out of: Bart James Lancashire Thomas Perry Lallana Gillett Wottton Holmes Rasiak Saganowski 12 players left in the whole squad and Schneiderlin still wouldn't get in if I were manager.

Liquidation and start again in the Bluq Square. It's only where we'd end up under Lowe anyway. The difference is, under Lowe it would just take another few years of signing players like Holmes and Schneiderlin and telling everyone they're the next Robben, Torres etc. Then appoint a complete nobody from the Lithuanian second division and claim it is a revolutionary new coaching set up who will provide Brazil style total football. To top it all off, he will blame the fans for our subsequent relegations because only 4,000 people turn up to home games.

How do you explain this photo then?

I can't see him doing any better in L1 than the CCC for 3 reasons. 1. They still have the offside rule in L1. 2. They still have goalkeepers in L1, so finishing a 1 on 1 is just as difficult. 3. They still have gravity in L1, so falling over for no apparent reason is just as likely. I really hope both he and Euell leave now they're out of contract. Useless the pair of them.

I didn't think there was anything particular wrong with the name "Southampton Football Club" myself. Certainly way better than "AFC Southampton" in my eyes.

I think the -25 story carries about as much rumour as the Red Bull rumour. It's just been made up by someone on this, or some other, football gossip site and taken as gospel. I've seen no reference to it in any official source and I see no reason why it should be the case. Okay we took the -10 for going into admin, but it's not like there's been any dodgy accounting etc. to warrant further sanctions.

Let's be honnest, there were a lot of well meaning people taken in by the Pinnacle bullsh*t. MLT who has nothing but Saints best interests at heart. Mark Fry, a proffesional administrator who knows more about the goings on at SFC than anyone. Most of the posters on here. Other than the "I told you so" brigade of financial experts on this site, who predicted doom and gloom from day one, nobody had reason not to trust pinnacle. I hold Crouch in high regard after the support he has given Saints in recent times, both financially and with trying to get involved in a takeover. I'd be happy if he was still on the board in some capacity, although not chairman. As for his judgement... he hates Lowe, doesn't trust Wilde and appointed Pearson. That'll do me.

I meant an 'ironic' egg on face thread of course. And what have American's got to do with this?

Good luck to him. Far too good to play in L1.

If you win that bet, be sure to buy Saints. Ta
